Re: What makes Mr. Darcy desirable? (Austen's fans thread)

Controversy The £10 note will be made of the same material as the £5 note, which means it also contains some traces of animal fat - an issue which caused concern for vegans and some religious groups when it was launched last September. A petition to ban the note attracted more than 100,000 signatur...

Re: Last movie you liked

I liked Game of Thrones, because I am a fan of the books, but when the seasons stops to follow the novels' story (because Martin is so SLOW to write the tome 6) and wrote their own scenario, I let it, it became only a show of sex and blood, without the political cleverness of the saga. The 1st seaso...

Re: Last movie you liked

Another good French series is Les Revenants : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Revenants_(TV_series) Stephen King praised it. The US adaptation is not so nice. Generally I don't like this way that have Americans to "americanize" some good series. For example, Hatufim, a real good Israelia...

Re: 2017 : a year in Duhok

I will post a video tomorrow. They are ok, always busy to suckle or to sleep. But now, they hardly start to play and walk a bit. But as they have very round bellies (full of milk) it is hard to stand up on feet.

Re: Last movie you liked

I liked Untergang, also. Bruno Ganz was wonderful in that play. Currently I watch a very good French series (and it is not a common thing to have a good French series) : Le Bureau des Légendes, just entitled The Bureau in English : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bureau_(TV_series) Eric Rochant ha...

Re: Kurdistan govt closes representative offices headed by P

That's not a clever thing to do if they want to make a. referendum in September. They have also to reopen the Parliament, they have no choice.

Re: What makes Mr. Darcy desirable? (Austen's fans thread)

In Jane Austen's time, all men were shaved. I think that beards were seen as ugly (but wigs were ok). Beards began to grow on men's face in the second half of 19th century, I believe. I have nothing against a small moustache, or even a short clean beard, but long beards like these new Kurdish Brumme...

Re: Eiffel replica erected in Erbil’s Minara Park

Kurds are crazy about Eiffel Tower : it is the most beloved monument for them, a second Kaaba  Each time you say "Paris", they collapse in adoration : Ahhhh Pariis, Eiffel Tower… The most curious is that in all change offices, you have an Eiffel Tower, of all sizes, from 20 cm to 1 me...

Re: 2017 : a year in Duhok

They are still strong, still healthy and glutton. They open their eyes (but don't see very far) and begin to walk. Then they fall from their bed (5 cm high from the ground) and YELL that they are absolutely lost (10 cm far from their mother). Pirouette watch them peacefully and does nothing, so at t...

By the way, I never watched the Laurence Olivier's version of P&P. I should find it on YouTube.
