Right... Good afternoon!

Communism - I am afraid you misunderstood my words - what I meant with the word "same" was "equal"... It was late... and I didn't remmeber that word so I wrote "same"...

But then you must have less knowledge about Communism than me - because you call Sweden the ideological Communist country... I live in Norway - Norway-Sweden - its the same thing - we have the same system and yes these are two of the worlds best places to live... BUT - they are not communist at in ideology... They are capitalist down to the bone -with socialit attitude - only difference from othe rcapitalist countries like US is that they have "security nett" which is meant to catch people that fall from society.. Everybody is secured education and medical treatment a job and roof over their head. Everybody regardless of race, religion and color is given every single human right exhisting. But you should comem and visite Norway - there are people that are filthy rich here... We have two communist parties here that are pressing for REAL communism - and which have only about 2 % of the votes in Norway...

Communism ideology is based on "plan economy" and that everybody is treated the same - this does not tell us anything about how "good" or how "bad" they are treated - just that they are treated like equals... Furthermore the communist ideology is that even in work sectores there should be a flat governing model - that everybody participates in the decision making - this is not the case in Norway nor is it in Sweden. Sweden has joined the EU - the main aim of the EU is economical growth... Which is the ultimate capitalist ideology...
And there is lots more to say about how Sweden is far from communist - but I don't want the forum boring... :P

if you look at north kurdistan and the poverty there, you would understand why people there see more than others the need for equality, because the economical discrimination they face is unknown of in most countries of the world. when 10 people are forced to live in one room and work two or three jobs from the age of 10, it is american style capitalism - with a touch of worseness proper to kurdish society : the agas, that apo has been fighting all along, and that need to be removed for they almost have the power of life and death because of their money on the members of their tribes, who are therefore put back to the rank of sheeps who are slaves of the agha : they can only vote as the aga says, and if they don't the aga expells them from the village and they have to live on the streets. the aga system is the negation of individual thought and happiness in its most barbaric form, and it is what leads to the most barbaric behaviours like honour killings and such. we must get rid of this tribes mentality ASAP, and it is a great accomplishment of apo to have engaged in this meaningful task for the sake of our society.

Hi all,

Love it or not. The aga system as you call is the sole reason why a nation or culture called "kurd" has survived until today. The day you broke this system, people will assimilate into the majority culture which is happening in Turkey. Children who are the scums of kurdish workers who emigrated to big urbanized and civilized cities lose their identity and adopt Turkish culture as they climb up to the economic ladder!!!

THIS IS SO RIGHT! The Agha System is NOT a "feudal" system as some Turks reffere to it... (they only call it that to make people rise up against strong Aghas)

I do believe you hit the nail! Kurdish culture is that of the Aghah culture... It has been the sole protector of Kurdish culture ever since the Turks came riding in on their horses in the 14 th century...

Where did YOU learn about HOW it is in Kurdistan??? Have you been there? Are you a part of an Eshiret??? I guess not since you are far too negative about the issue

But Kassem - Come on my brother - you can't whole heartedly say that you have investigated the matter any further from what TURKS say about the Aghas.. they are not BAD people - they are keeping our culture alive.. ALL Kurds were a part of an Eshiret once- and then there were those NEWLY emigrated Arian tribes that were more nomadic...

Hi all,

First of all feudalism is nothing so bad. It is just a phase in historical developments of nations. If you want to get rid of this Agha system, what you have to do is swithch to a cpatitalists system which means you will found big urban places, cities by industry, trade and commerce. And, that is not something which can be done overnight! And, if you consider the current condition of kurds it is even harder!!

kassem wrote:you don't realize that this aga system is pure and simple slavery.

but yeah this is a great system the agas, it's what maintains great tribal practice such as : oppression of women, marrying girls at age 14 to people that are 40 years-old, honour crimes... this is superb. frankly I don't understand how anybody can defend this system.

Hi kasemm,

I am not supporting this sytem. I know it is an underdeveloped socail model, but due to its property which isolated people from other cultures, it is the MAIN factor which has protested Kurds from assimilating into other cultures. Maybe they are too conservative, but bear in mind that most of the kurdish riots are done by these Ashirets in history!
Today, id there were no Eshirest in Kurdistan we would be no different than Christian Assyrians, Turkomans and other ethnic groups who live in urban places and have no power!!

kassem wrote:nah, I don't think that... because there are whole kurdish cities and there have always been, for many years... but you can clearly see what the aga situation is creating : when the turks burn villages down, people go in amed, and there they live at 10 in one room because there's nothing they're able to do... it creates crime, etc... it's bad, this kind of system doesn't have any place in a modern society anyways.

Hi,
First of all, Turks did not burn villages, but the Army and the governments on power burnt them down! You can not blame a whole nation, for the misbehavior of a bunch of people.

Secondly, if you will abolish Agha system, you sholuld have something to replace it! What is the system you are advising?
