The thing the PKK did was amazing. The movement they did in bakur. How they put women side-by-side to men. How they made the people realize the situiation. But then they started to get greedy, when it came to other parts of Kurdistan. I mean PJAK is not the only party nor the biggest party in rojhelat. Still they wanted to establish a branch there. I even read an article about PJAK being in Kirmashan and Lorestan now to get ready for the Israel-Iran war (http://ekurd.net/mismas/articles/misc20 ... urd892.htm). PDKI and Komala is protecting that area, why would they need to be there?? PYD only thinks about their own party and doesn't allow any other party and won't let any peshmergas in.

If Pjak thinks they are going to control E. Kurdistan I'm enrolling for the PDKI peshmerga's PJAK has no business being there once PDKI goes active everyone will join them PJAK has done nothing for E. Kurdistan.

When the liberation comes we will need support from every kurdish party that is willing to fight for Kurdistan and that includes PJAK in Rojhelat. If PJAK would be able to make a deal with the other parties and unite and not go there own way which the usually do like in Rojava it would be great. But PKK needs to realise they are not the only party fighting for Kurdistan. They can't do everything on their own.

Perhaps it is human nature but I have noticed in all fields, from individuals, small charities to large international companies and political organisation - when someone or something makes a change or has success at something, there is always someone or some group who claims that they could have done it better X(

There is only one APO one Mr Ocalan who has ever managed to inspire the Kurdish people to such an extent

He is an extremely important figurehead, loved and respected by millions. And as I have mentioned in other posts, I have witnessed the difference in Kurds who came dejected from Turkey, they have grown PROUD over the years :x

The time has come for Kurds to STOP arguing between each other and doing a rather childish MY LEADER IS BETTER THAN YOUR LEADER and join together to become a united Kurdistan :x

Ocalan must come FIRST because the entire region depends on the Kurds in North Kurdistan becoming free otherwise the Kurds living in Iran and Syria will not be strong enough to gain independence :|

I understand that not Kurdish, so you may not know a lot of Kurdish history besides North Kurdistan ( It seems your friends are from there). The first leaders of Kurdistan are from E. Kurdistan. One example is Dr. Quasumlo I suggest you search him up on google, Iran could not handle him and his 13,000 peshmerga, so they asked him to negotiate kurdish rights in Austria it was their that he was assasinated things went downhill from there. Also search up Simko Shikak he defeated the persian army many times. It is not, because we are not strong it is because in Iran or Syria if we say one word we are assasinated kurds In Turkey thankfully enjoy a semi- democracy ( actually barely semi), but they can say things on kurds rights without getting executed. I garentee you if we have a semi-democracy in Iran we would be like S.Kurdistan right now in Iran.

Thank you purearch72 :)

I am always willing to learn more, though you are mistaken I have had many friends and students from all the Kurdish regions :x

I know a great deal about Kurdish history and I always try to remind my Kurdish friends from the north and south about Habibollah Latifi and others who have been executed in Iran :((

I know about the Mahabad Republic because a friend of mine's grandfather was one of the people hanged :((

I am ALWAYS willing to learn more and ANY suggestions you have will be WELCOME :x

I confess, to my SHAME I did not know about Simko Shikak :( :-\

Emergency press conference

The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg will mark its 12th anniversary on 25 June with an emergency press conference on Abdullah Öcalan

The press conference is promoted by the international campaign Freedom for Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question.

As well as several members of the Parliamentary Assembly (which will meet on 25 June), the press conference will be attended by: Madeleine Mawamba and Elizabeth Ngari (Women in Exile), Barbara Pade-Theisen (Dr for General and Social Medicine, HAGIA certification), Nerea Ahedo Ceza (EAJ/PNV, Basque-Senate of Spain), Remy Pagani (Former mayor of Geneva) and Rudolf Bürgel (Präsidum Landesausschuss Die Linke, B-Württemberg-Germany).

The press conference will be held across the road from the Council entrance at 11am.

The call reminding the Council (CoE) of its duties towards Öcalan is becoming louder and even more urgent. It is now well over three years since he had any contact with the world outside his prison, apart from one visit from the Council’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) in September 2022, about which no information has been made public.

The vigil is a protest against Öcalan’s illegal and inhumane isolation by the Turkish Government on Imrali Island Prison. This press conference will serve as a further reminder to the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, and the CPT. These institutions should be directly involved in stopping Öcalan’s isolation, because Turkey is a Council of Europe member state. The CPT, which has the ability to visit Imrali Island Prison at any time, has been particularly derelict in their duty - which is why many organisations, and coalitions of activists, lawyers, intellectuals, and academics have written letters asking them to visit Öcalan and to check on his wellbeing after 25 years of torturous prison isolation.

When European institutions fail to act, they become complicit in the infringement and abuse of basic human rights.

Öcalan continues to inspire millions of Kurds and many others around the world with his Democratic Confederalist philosophy of human liberation, women’s liberation, social ecology, and protection of ethnic minorities. Every year, thousands of people from all walks of life come together in Strasbourg to march, rally, and demand an end to his torturous solitary confinement.
