Or Iraqi flag... But as Duhok is not PUK, we could be sure that this flag is not on this city.

The reason why you dont see a iraqi flag in kdp areas, is becuase the president of iraq is not kdp, the president of iraq is Puk, and that is why you see it in the puk areas.

It was kurdish flag I saw it when I passed there!
About the Djalal's kiss to Saddam it was a real trap, Saddam hugged him when he went off the plane and there was iraki TV ready to film...well that's what Ahmed Barmani says !

But all the same the darkest past of Jash is behind Talabani, even if KDP had had its own tricky past too, and the main responsible of the civil war is PUK too by refusing to admit the results of elections in 1992. I have nothing against PUK nor Talabani but I wonder sometimes why people in Silêmanî are so fond of him. He might have good aspects I suppose, but I would like to know more about them (it is not ironic, I would really like to understand).
But cocnerning the hug to Saddam, I have the explanation : it was a mistake to negociate at this time with Saddam for it could have prevent US and Europe to intervene and set Provide Comfort Operation. But at this time too, US and Coalition had let Shiites being massacred by Iraqi soldiers, and Kurds too, after having called them to revolt. Then at the moment, Kurdish leaders could not be sure that the Coalition won't let them definitively facing Saddam's guards. And as Bush Senir had allowed Iraq to use helicopters, people feared of gas. So Talabani decided to negociate as Barzani I think but they lacked of coordination and at the end, this "kiss" was a political mistake.

This is old news. Why is everyone bringing this up all of a sudden?
Anyways, here is some more pics so you could see it better. I think Duhok has more Kurdistan flags up than any other city in Kurdistan.
(I took the second pic myself

I love this road near the Dam....I passed here at night, in Summer, there were a lot of people just walking in family with ice creams.......It was really peaceful and it is one of the first scene I remember in South Kurdistan
