New guerrilla model to be created in 2019

They would receive much more international support if they referred to the fighters as FREEDOM FIGHTERS rather than guerillas

People’s Defense Center Headquarters Command issued a new years’ message for the command and fighter structure and promised to create a victory guerrilla and a new guerrilla model. The Command warned that the war will escalate in 2019

The People’s Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters Command issued a written statement and pointed out the dangers and the resolve to fight in 2019.

The Command said, “Looking at general developments, it can be seen that the war in our region will escalate further.”

HSM Headquarters Command added: “Because there is no project to end this war and resolve the issues that have made the peoples of the region suffer so.”

The message continued:

“There is only the solution project that Ocalan has put forth. Turkish colonialism and global colonialism as well as international hegemonic powers fear the democratic nation solution persective that proposes fraternity among peoples, women’s emancipation, freedom and democracy so they stage attacks through the fascist Turkish state.

Unobtainable and illogical as Ocalan is supposed to be being kept in isolation, away from internet and news. Thusly, Ocalan is not informed enough to put forward any such plans

ERDOGAN IS NOT A PRESIDENT BUT A GANG LEADER

The Turkish state has imposed great terrorism and violence against the peoples of the region under the guise of fighting terrorism, and as long as this stance remains, all attempts to end the war and develop a solution will fall flat. Because we are faced with a president who enjoys massacring Kurds, uses this as a boasting point for propaganda every day in rallies, riles up chauvinism in Turkey through openly legitimizing attacks and terrorism and uses head hunting as a tool to gain votes. Clearly this is not a president, but a gang leader. Without removing all effects of this fascist mindset that wants to prolong their rule through bloodshed and bases its existence on blood, it will clearly be impossible to stop the war in Kurdistan, Turkey or the region in general, or develop peace and fraternity.

ERDOGAN WILL ESCALATE THE WAR FURTHER IN 2019

That is why, as it can be seen, the war will escalate in our region and our country Kurdistan in 2019. It can be seen already that our movement and our people will be waging a rough struggle in Bakur, Bashur and Rojava (these words mean nothing to the general public unless the word Kurdistan is attached to them) against the fascist and racist Ankara regime. Clearly there are hardships we are experiencing, but under any circumstances, when approaching the matter with Ocalan’s illuminating and resolving philosophy, it is clear that there will always be conditions for victory. The opportunities and conditions for us to achieve victory in this struggle are more available than ever before.

This fascist and colonialist mindset is trying to do in Rojava Kurdistan what they failed to do in 2018, and is planning attacks. This means the whole of Kurdistan entering a new phase in the war. This clearly shows that a great historic resistance by our people will be on the agenda not just in Rojava Kurdistan (I would rather it be called West Kurdistan then everyone will know it is a part of Kurdistan)but throughout Kurdistan against Turkish colonialism.

NEW GUERRILLA MODEL

The term Freedom Fighter is much more relevant than guerrilla and much more socially expectable

We as the Kurdistan People’s Defense Forces will be ascertaining the success of the war to the extent that we develop a new, contemporary and professional guerrilla system that can stand against any and all attacks including the latest technology in warfare and achieve results in all areas within the framework of restructuring efforts that we have focused on extensively for some time now.

In this matter, the fundamental agenda for all you comrades should be to internalize and essentialize the new guerrilla line and system in educational activities within the framework of restructuring. Handling the deep rooted change that needs to happen within the guerrilla from a mental standpoint and having absolute faith in achieving the contemporary guerrilla style, as well as focusing at full force with this faith are a must.

We must believe that we will ascertain victory to the extent that we develop the new guerrilla model and focus during these first days of the new year on the professional guerrilla. It is important we go deep and actualize the deep rooted change. It is important to create a professional guerrilla level that will achieve results through tactical and technological performance. If we complete the focus of the last two years with a summit in these days, it will become possible for us to develop the coming process with a brand new guerrilla struggle and an operational lunge, and to succeed.

MESSAGE TO CREATE THE VICTORY GUERRILLA

Today the way to respond correctly to the hunger strikes in and outside prisons launched by revolutionary leaders is through creating the victory guerrilla. We must know that this will be possible within the framework we stated, in line with the restructuring project, and through creating an ideological, organizational and military focus and the creation of a new guerrilla model. We must approach our revolutionary duty correctly as such. The message hunger strikes give us in reaching such a moving force is that the victory guerrilla must be created for certain. We will vitalize the new guerrilla line that we have had on the agenda and have focused on for a while now and be a response to the expectations of our Leader, our people and our allies. We wish victory to you with this faith and salute you with all our revolutionary enthusiasm, respect and love in the new year’s struggle.”

Murat Karayılan: We enter 2019 with resistance

Murat Karayilan stressed they enter 2019 with the resistance of hunger strikes and the resilience stance of the society, saying: “This resistance process will be fortified, and it will achieve results.”

Murat Karayilan, was invited to a special broadcasting of Radio Dengê Welat and answered the questions of Rosîda Mêrsin. Karayilan greeted all activists involved in the hunger strikes and said: “I greet the resistance in Amed prison, the pioneer politician Leyla Guven and all other activists, I congratulate the New Year to them, and hope that the year ahead will be the year of democracy and freedom. From South Kurdistan, West Kurdistan, North Kurdistan, East Kurdistan, Europe and worldwide, everywhere our people are resisting, I send my greetings and congratulate the New Year to all of them.

“Fascism will be defeated when the isolation is broken”

Karayilan highlighted that the isolation enforced upon Abdullah Ocalan as not only against Kurdish folk, but is indeed a threat to everyone in the Middle East. Karayilan spoke of the meaning of the isolation and said: “Removing the isolation will lead to a new process in Turkey and the wider region, liberating Ocalan will start a new phase in the entire region.”

Karayilan emphasized that all actions carried out under the motto ‘Let’s break the isolation and tear down fascism,’ are appreciated and meaningful initiatives, adding; “There is a great significance in this motto, if the isolation is broken, fascism cannot survive. This is a wise comprehension of the reality. Everyone must act upon this narrative.”

“This is a popular campaign”

Karayilan reminded of the fact that Leyla Guven has gone through over 50 days of hunger strike, and has entered a critical situation. He noted the importance of strengthening the actions against isolation, and continued; “The action initiated and led by Leyla Guven has turned into a broad campaign in and outside the homeland. We, the Kurdistan movement along with the people, are entering 2019 with such resistance. It is a popular action that includes all components of our society. Therefore everyone, from the patriots and democrats, must help to preserve and strengthen this historic initiative.”

“As long as guerilla exists, the enemy’s attempts are doomed to failure”

Karayilan pointed out to the struggle of guerrilla, “Kurdistan liberation movement is being through the most important process ever and guerrilla is the leading force in this process of resistance. The Turkish state has accelerated its threats and vows to continue with military operations to “eliminate the guerrilla this winter”. This is because of the fact that guerrilla is playing a great role as the driving force of revolution.”

Karayılan continued, addressing to the guerrillas of the freedom movement; “All of our guerrilla comrades in the mountains of Kurdistan must know that the very sense of their presence in these mountains has a meaning which is to step up the freedom struggle. It is therefore valuable.

“Whether in Medya Defense Zones or in North Kurdistan, the presence of our comrades is a stab in the enemy’s heart. Our comrades’ stance by itself plays a major role. As long as the guerrilla exists and stands tall, the enemy’s attempts are doomed to failure. No matter how much the enemy attacks the people and politicians in Kurdistan and tightens the isolation, they will never achieve a result as long as the guerrilla resists and protects their positions because they can never realize this without eliminating the guerrilla. As long as there are guerrillas in the mountains of Kurdistan, our people will never be left alone. The Kurdish youth, wholeheartedly, will continue to join the guerrilla and reinforce the struggle. Kurdish women, with their will and determination for freedom, will always resist. As long as guerrilla stands strong, our people will remain strong in the villages, streets, in and outside the homeland and our Leader’s position will be stronger,” said Karayilan.

“2019 will be a period of great resistance”

Karayilan pointed out that when they observe the developments in the region and analyze the attitude of hegemonic forces of the world, they could see that the war will further spread in the region. He said there is no sign that the war will descelate or end. He noted that this goes for Kurdistan, too, as the war in Kurdistan is related with the war in the region.

“The Ankara regime believes it has to attack and wage a war in order to keep its rule on its feet, continue its domination and win the elections. Especially the gang leader Erdoğan believes he could keep his ruling going by shedding blood. He is attacking the Kurdish people and shedding blood to this end, thus consolidating the wave of chauvinism in Turkey. By feeding this chauvinist wave with blood, he intends to gather the chauvinist mob around himself and receive their votes. On this basis, our enemy feels itself obliged to wage a war however this does not stem from its strength, but on the contrary from its weakness. It is not a political power that calls elections in an ordinary atmosphere. This is a total fascism. They seek to keep their ruling standing by intimidating, killing and imprisoning the people. Erdoğan wants to build an empire of fear by interrogating and intimidating the most ordinary artist seven. To achieve this, he needs to wage a war.”

Karayılan remarked that the Kurdish people have developed a new process that will improve and grow further in time. “This shows us that our struggle is entering a new period in military, political and social aspects, and this is the period of great and sacred resistance. For this reason, we can say that the new year will be a year of major resistance and initiative. Everyone should be prepared and get organized accordingly.”

“Resistance will bring a solution”

Karayılan pointed out that this will not be an ordinary process and 2019 will not be an ordinary year as it will witness the deepening of conflicts, intensified war, increased resistance and development of a solution. The developments to take place during 2019 will determine the course of the next years. For this reason, all the freedom fighters must act with this awareness and responsibility. Our people should know that they are being through such a process, we are in the phase of a solution and victory now. This is why our enemy is attacking this much. In response, we must manifest the will we have manifested for 40 years now, and join this process basing on right ways and methods, tactics and manners with the goal of strengthening the fight of will on the path of Ocalan and brave martyrs. In this way, the fascist reactionism will be defeated and the victory will be of the peoples.”

Murat Karayilan spoke about current developments in a special program for the Denge Welat Radio

Karayilan pointed to the Turkish state invasion of the South Kurdistan, (Başûrê Kurdistanê), the special war policies put into practice in Dersim and the restructuring project for the guerrilla. He stressed that the Turkish state’s invasion attack against Xakurke is part of a larger plot to occupy Southern Kurdistan and said the following:

“The enemy aims to take Southern Kurdistan under control by occupying all strategic locations as part of the concept they wish to develop. But just because they have that concept and are aiming for it, it doesn’t mean that this is how things will happen. Because they do not have the strength to make it so.

That is why they want to develop their concept step by step. Because they are faced with a strong guerrilla resistance. For instance, now they came to hold Sekif, but behind Sekif there is the guerrilla in the Gelisim, Qebra Zahir, Martyr Ahmet and Martyr Beritan regions, as well as the Xinere region.

It is not that the enemy has come and invaded all of Xakurke and destroyed everything. They first look to settle in those empty hills they go hold. They plan on staying for a long time, that is why they first try to go this route. For instance they now hold the area from th Are Strait to behind Ermus, and the Sekif hill and some others near it.

They are trying to settle there. A few days ago there were guerrilla actions at the Martyr Sarya hill behind Ermus. These locations are behind Sekif, but guerrilla actions continue there. The enemy can’t just act however they like. They are trying to lay roots where they are now.

When they see guerrilla approaching from one side, they immediately send scout planes and helicopters to defend themselves with air support. If they did not do that, they couldn’t stay there. They couldn’t hold on against the guerrilla’s hold on the area. The guerrilla would destroy them all.”

TURKISH STATE KNOWS THEY WILL LOSE BAD IN THE SOUTH

Karayilan said the guerrilla has displayed an effective resistance against the Turkish state’s plans to occupy all of Southern Kurdistan and continued: “The enemy can’t just go enter anywhere they like. Why am I stating that? Because there are certain comments that one would think the enemy was to just go through one side and come out on the other.

But the Turkish state doesn’t have such strength! Like I said before, they aim to pit Kurdish organizations against one another in Southern Kurdistan and create provocations among them to weaken them so they can advance.

The Turkish state knows that they can’t advance as they wish. Because the guerrilla has not left their 1 km vicinity. The guerrilla is always around them. The guerrilla is in there among the enemy. Wherever the enemy controls, the guerrilla is there. So it is not that easy to invade Southern Kurdistan.

The Turkish state knows they will lose bad if they attempted to invade all of the South in a short time. Their generals know that very well. So they want to advance piece by piece, invading just one place at a time. With this operation they developed, they invaded Sekif and the Are Strait. Here I want to add that the enemy targeted these areas deliberately.

They knew that the guerrilla didn’t have extensive infrastructure preparations in these areas, so they launched their attacks there. If the guerrilla had previous preparations, the enemy would not have been able to settle there easily. But we are the guerrilla, this is not important for us. The enemy can come settle in some locations.

With the new guerrilla style of fighting for the times, with professional units, we will fight and paralyze the enemy with various tactics. We can disrupt every move by the enemy and stop them in their tracks. The guerrilla has some efforts in Xakurke to this end. I can’t say these efforts are great or terrible. The comrades are working. A certain level of meaningful resistance continues. Most importantly, the comrades continue with their long term preparations, which is important and significant.”

WAR WILL BE ROUGH

Karayilan said the Turkish state has occupied only a part of Xakurke and is trying to settle there: “The enemy may want to advance after they settle there. They may wish to invade more parts of Xakurke, or advance towards the Xinere line. They may wish to advance through other lines. These are possibilities. But we are resolved to resist to the end against the Turkish state’s concept to strategically invade Southern Kurdistan.

All our people and our esteemed people of Southern Kurdistan in particular must know this well: We, will not allow the Turkish state to invade the lands of Southern Kurdistan. We will wage a strategic war here. This won’t be just a regular battle. It will be rough. Because the enemy hasn’t reached the red line, the strategic areas yet. If they approach there, the war will deepen and grow.

In this framework, comrades are making preparations. I can say that much for now. I don’t want to make big statements just as things are starting. But we are determined to make this resistance a historic resistance. We want to achieve a great victory against the Turkish state with this resistance. Our calculations and plans are to that end, and we are quite serious.”

THOSE WHO WON’T SUPPORT US
SHOULDN’T TRY TO STOP US EITHER

Karayilan pointed out that the invading Turkish state has been targeting civilian vehicles and roads, and looking to create provocations through conflict and chaos: “All Southern Kurdistan politicians, all our patriotic people, all the youth of Kurdistan must know that we are determined to develop a historic and modern resistance against invasions. Nobody should stand in our way. Those who can should support us. We want our people to support us, especially our people of Southern Kurdistan should support us. But those who won’t should at least not try to stop us.

Now the Turkish MIT is looking to gather intelligence on us from all sides. They aim to carry out airstrikes based on that intelligence and achieve results. As such, nobody should give this enemy, the murderers, any information. The ones who do should not be allowed to continue among the community.

All should have a stance against those who spy for the Turkish state. If our people stand by us in this matter, we will teach the fascist Turkish state a lesson in Zap and Xakurke, in those valleys. We are absolutely determined in this matter. We will hold them to a historic account and make them regret it. We have preparations to that end.

We are not ones to cower and hide from the threats and planes of the enemy. The Turkish state is fighting us with planes alone. And we are focused on how to void these enemy planes and smother them on land. We will resist to the end on this basis, our resistance will continue to deepen. Our expectation from our people in all four parts of Kurdistan, from the women and the youth, and from Kurdistan forces and organizations to support us in this resistance.”

RESTRUCTURING PROJECT BY THE GUERRILLA

Karayilan spoke about the guerrilla’s resistance and pointed out the following: “At this time we believe the restructuring project is very important. The process has shown that if we achieve a deep-rooted transformation in the guerrilla, if we transcend classic methods and old guerrilla habits to put the new guerrilla line into practice, we can prevail. That is why we think this project is very important. We have been working on it for a year. We believe most of our comrades are aware of this. There is a multifaceted renewal in progress for the guerrilla.

The new team style we developed for the guerrilla will allow for an increase, not decrease, in scope for the fight as they mobilize and take on a semi-autonomous character. The most concrete examples of this have emerged in practice. The action along the Avashin line in Bezok is a striking example for this. The guerrilla went to the heart of the enemy in a coordinated unit style and carried out a strike to destroy the enemy in broad daylight, successfully completing their action and lifting 6 weapons in the process.

There are many other examples. As expertise and professionalism develops in the new unit style, the strike force will become masters and achieve more results. On this basis the most effective defensive style is an active defense. A force that is constantly in action will give the enemy a harder time and secure its own forces.”

They are NOT happy the PKK have taken so much political control of the country

Nor are they happy that their proud country, for which thousands of Kurds died fighting, has been renamed by the PKK from Western Kurdistan to Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria
