PKK Leadership Shakeup in Öcalan Letter

A secret letter from imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to Cemil Bayik, ordering the removal of several key leaders and the formation of a committee of inquiry

Kurdish journalist and intellectual Hoshang Ose, a longtime PKK journalist, wrote on his Facebook page that he received the information from a "reliable source." He claimed that in February, a PKK delegation traveled to the Kurdistan Region and met with Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani. Following these meetings, the delegation visited Sulaymaniyah to meet with Cemil Bayik.

"The purpose of these meetings was to restructure the PKK leadership before its congress, with the ultimate goal of dissolving the organization," Ose wrote.

According to Ose, the PKK held a closed-door meeting based on Öcalan’s instructions and made several significant decisions:

* Abolishing the co-presidency system and appointing Cemil Bayik as the sole leader of the PKK.

* Removing Basi Hozat from his role as co-chair and deputy to Bayik, sending him for investigation.

* Replacing Murat Qarayilan as the PKK's highest military commander (HPG) with Sabri Ok; Karayilan has also been placed under investigation and is under surveillance.

* Relieving Bahoz Erdal of all military and security responsibilities in Syria and placing him under investigation.

* Reassigning Duran Kalkan from military leadership to a cultural and artistic role.

* Keeping Mustafa Karasu in charge of the PKK’s media operations.

* Replacing more than 30 other PKK leaders as part of the restructuring.

Ose also stated that Sirri Süreyya Önder, a former MP and PKK official, remains the only authorized spokesperson for Öcalan.

As of now, the PKK has not commented on the alleged leadership changes or the formation of a committee of inquiry. The reasons behind the shake-up remain unclear.

In politics refers to an entity gaining and maintaining political power by using divisive measures

This includes the exploitation of existing divisions within a political group by its political opponents, and also the deliberate creation or strengthening of such divisions.

Kurds would be invincible if they were inseparable but sadly the anti-Kurdish DEM party has spent years brainwashing Kurds into believing that they do not want to live in and rule THEIR traditional homeland
