Same here.. I wonder why Kurdishmedia always have to steal articles from other sites, but doesn't make articles of themselves. Like about this in English...
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Vladimir, what is it with you and bashing KurdMedia every chance you get? They are probably one of the more respectable and developed news sites there are right now.

That would change fast, if I decided to start a news website... they miss about 50% of the Kurdish news..
And I see them as a competition although the Kurdish website I work with is Dutch. Only good thing about Kurdmedia is colums/personal articles. And sometimes I don't think they are very independent.

They are independent, but I surely do encourage you to start a news site. Or perhaps you should look into becoming a reporter for them? Maybe they need some help to get that news posted quicker!

Well the things "they write" they seldom have reports themselves about Kurdistan. ANd I bet they know a lot of people in Kurdistan.

Kurds really need to get rid of this arabic script. I get so frustrated when so much of it is in that camel language. I mean, yes, its reasonable why, we've had arab influence and dominance there, but still, they need to at least start to. I tried to learn, but my nationalistic feelings just kept saying "what the hell are you doing?"

roller rebwar wrote:Kurdmedia write very eloquently and remind me of other western sites...

Although it does receive news late..then again its like that for all kurdish media outlets ( have you seen kurdsat?? )

Anyway the way they present the articles and kurdish question is done in such a mild and polite manner but still proves the point in a very good way. So , they're not all that bad

I agree with you Rebwar. Several Kurdish news sites are unprofessional and too blunt..and I'm not saying I disagree with their opinions but it's just not professional and shows a lack of development...and that's not an effective way to present the Kurdish issue. KurdMedia presents articles in a way that people can respect regardless of their opinion on Kurdish politics.

And Vladimir, I really do not know what you are talking about.

And as far as their forum goes, I am not sure but I have been told by a friend who works for KurdMedia that they are planning to revamp the whole site soon so they are not planning on adding stuff until then.

Heval.. like normal newswebsites BBC, Observer.. they make articles themselves.. Kurdmedia only steals articles from other sites (no prob)
But... Kurdmedia really really could do way better heval.. by using people (like iwpr.net does) and let those people write articles themselves..

Understand me now or??

I wouldn't call it stealing Vladimir, they are merely putting the many articles from various media outlets/websites in one place.... and comparing to the BBC is a little unkind, just how many journalists and reporters do you think KurdMedia employs????

As for 'using people', without doubt KurdMedia would be delighted to hear from you (and others) and often print articles written by their readers.

They have also gone on record many times asking that readers email articles of interest (including personal accounts) to the team... go for it, their email addys are there on the site, instead of condemning them, help them.
