Fantastic idea ZaniYar, particularly for us non-Kurds here... and if you guys could provide the translations in both Sorani and Kurmanci that'd be even better :D

I'd help if I could but my Kurdish is pretty useless

But many dictionnaries english-kurdish kurdish-english (sorani or kurmanji) exist already. And some of them are very good. I think of Michael Chyet dictionnary or Baran Rizgari's one (for kurmanji).

I've a couple of excellent English-Kurdish dictionaries, but I've never seen one that provides both the Sorani and Kurmanci translations, that'd be just perfect.

Commonly used phrases/sentences would also be fab... I can understand many words in Kurdish but putting them together in a sentence that makes sense is something else

ppl have done it before,,,I my self been in the think of Making computer version of these diconaries...

i wish i could see or contact the writers (or publisher)of these dictiornaries
if they give me DOC file that they write the words in it , I can easilly make a computer dicontionary in a CD or even make an intenret dictionary in KBU site.

i have always been thinking about that...but i dont know who to contact to get the Typed Doc File of the dictionary so I can make a program out of it.

GIRL - You are CRAZY!!! I like that

Lets carry on the line then :

Sipî - White

You can use the word in another way too - If you say "Min sipî kir "(Kurmanci - for those who didn't get that  )

THEN it means: "I peeled it" As in peeling of the skin/layer covering it... Like an apple you can say "Min (I) sêv (apple) sipî (peel) kir (did)"

HEY - THIS IS ALOT OF FUN!!!

Kak Vladimir, if u give me the name of the person u crazy about then i'll translate it.

Day by Day I get crazier about u

Ur smile makes me crazy

Its only u that keeps me alive.... Or u can say( ur a reason of my being)

How is that :?:

Kak Vladimir we need an English- Kurdish or other way around dictionary. As others said there are some , but they are not prefect. However, it would be a good idea with the participant of many ppl and it will help us alot.

Kassem, if u don't try now then when will u learn Kurdish?... Ur English is prefect and makes me embarrass my own . So don't be reluctant and support us.

I would like to make not a dictionary, but just a little book with some standard sentences.
Like the ones I posted. I made a lot Dutch-Kurdish with a Kurdish girl for fun.
I also have a Dutch-Turkish book that is like this, so why not in Kurdish 8) ?
