My Betrayed Kurdish Friend
I see his face before me so brave and so strong
intending to right all that which is wrong
I remember his words as if told me today
when he said that soon he was going away
I remember the look of pride on his face
As he spoke of his love for the entire Kurdish race
He told me he knew that he would not live
but his life for his country he'd willingly give.
He told me of his people so proud and so strong
and how Turkey had treated them so very wrong
He knew he'd face torture, death or great pain
but said it was worth it for the freedom they'd gain
He spoke of the mountains and the thousands thereon
and told of the reasons that there they had gone
He believed in his heart one day they'd be free
“Believe me he” said just “you wait and see.”
My friend was a leader, a proud Kurdish man
to bring about freedom he'd do all that he can
When he left I felt so sad inside
that for him and his people I broke down and cried
Many went but none have returned
And of his fate I never have learned
I think of his life with a gun in his hand
fighting to freed his beloved Kurdish land
Evil Ocalan ignored all the death and the pain
and decided that Kurds would be Turks once again
PKK who had fought for a free Kurdish land
from Turkish soil they soon will be banned
Shame on you Ocalan betrayer of Kurds trust
you have done a great evil and acted unjust
You have destroyed all dreams of free Kurdistan
You have proved to be a true Turkish man
