Explosion at wedding in Daraa

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted Daraa health director Ziyad al-Mahamid as saying the blast in the town of Abidin in Western Daraa province as leaving “33 injuries, including children.”

The province’s official Telegram channel reported 34 injured, including three in critical condition and seven children among the wounded.

The injured were taken to three separate hospitals for treatment. “We have begun providing the necessary medical supervision for the injured and urgent medical needs,” al-Mahamid said.

Footage circulating on social media purportedly shows the moment the explosion occurred during the wedding.

According to Syrian official media, internal security forces have opened an investigation “to learn the details and ensure the perpetrators are punished.”
