suicide bomber who had planned to explode herself in a busy street in İstanbul was "rendered ineffective" by the security forces before the attack, a front-page story in the daily reported yesterday. The female terrorist, who pretended to be pregnant, was carrying 8.8 kilograms of plastic explosives and 15 detonators in a bag. İstanbul Governor Muammer Güler, who made a statement at the İstanbul police headquarters, said the terrorist captured was planning to carry out a sensational attack; however, he did not reveal any information about the target of the terrorist, reported the daily.
