Al Mayadeen will NOT be silenced

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network addresses the Israeli occupation by saying that it was too late in silencing Al Mayadeen, promising a new media platform in its own language

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan ben Jeddou, said today, Wednesday, that the strivers working in Al Mayadeen were very well aware since day one that the network would be exposed to a lot of risks.

In a speech during a stand of solidarity with the network held in Beirut, Ben Jeddou revealed that the Israeli decision against Al Mayadeen came in collusion with three Arab sides.

He also pointed out that in 2012, the former US ambassador went on a tour across Lebanon, saying she was tasked with bringing up the issue of Al Mayadeen, warning against its rise. Meanwhile, the intelligence chief of a major Gulf country, during a meeting in 2013, set a condition stipulating the silencing of Al Mayadeen as well.

Narrating an incident that dates back to 2017, ben Jeddou revealed, “I received an invitation from an official in a Gulf country whereby he told me that he was assigned to inform me of three messages from different Arab and international parties."

At the time, “I told the Gulf official who accused us of supporting ‘political Shiism’ that Al Mayadeen shall forever stand with the Resistance,” he added, vowing to “trample on whosoever even consider ending it."

Al Mayadeen’s chairman stressed, "We are ahead of a historic opportunity following the victory of Gaza and the Resistance to consolidate our discourse and build international alliances."

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network addressed the Israeli occupation, saying that the step of silencing Al Mayadeen came out too late and that the decision to ban the network was made "because we are influential."
"We have transcended to become an unyielding concept," he stressed.

Ben Jeddou concluded his speech with a challenging promise to “Israel”, whereby he said, "I promise 'Israel' that it will soon witness a new platform that confronts it with more ferocity and clarity. When Al Mayadeen expands to include your language, you Zionists, the battle between us will grow more brutal."

On November 13, the Israeli war cabinet approved regulations that would allow the occupation government to ban and shut down Al Mayadeen Media Network, which comprises a foreign channel as per the Israeli emergency regulations descriptions and broadcasts in "Israel" in three languages: Arabic, English, and Spanish.

According to the decision, Al Mayadeen is said to "harm national security."

The chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, commented on the Israeli cabinet's decision to ban the channel and all of its outlets, from its websites to its social media accounts, in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"We will not back down from revealing the reality of the genocidal war waged by the occupation on the mighty Gaza and its fearless people,” Ben Jeddou vowed following the ban.

He also underlined that the decision to ban Al Mayadeen in occupied Palestine was taken by the Israeli cabinet led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Security Minister Yoav Gallant, former Security Minister Benny Gantz, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, and others, from senior officials in the Mossad, Shin Bet, and the apparatuses of murder and genocide.

The bill banning Al Mayadeen in occupied Palestine "was signed with the trembling hands of the Israeli Communication Minister publicizing the idea of triumph against Al Mayadeen with a deluded and grim pride,” he said.

Gaza carnage must end: UN aid chief

In a statement, Martin Griffiths says, "The world continues to watch in shock as hospitals come under fire, premature babies die, and an entire population is deprived of the basic means of survival."

The UN humanitarian head requested prompt action to "rein in the carnage" in Gaza on Wednesday, suggesting a proposal to assist in alleviating the crisis in the Palestinian Strip.

In a statement, Martin Griffiths expressed that the carnage "reaches new levels of horror every day," while "the world continues to watch in shock as hospitals come under fire, premature babies die, and an entire population is deprived of the basic means of survival."
Griffiths expressed that "this cannot be allowed to continue."

He proposed a 10-point proposal to assist in alleviating the humanitarian crisis, including a request for a ceasefire.

After the Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, Griffiths posted on X that he was appalled, stressing that "hospitals are not battlegrounds."

I'm appalled by reports of military raids in Al Shifa hospital in #Gaza.

The protection of newborns, patients, medical staff and all civilians must override all other concerns.

    Hospitals are not battlegrounds.
    — Martin Griffiths (@UNReliefChief) November 15, 2023
Israeli occupation forces have converted Al-Shifa Hospital into a military barracks, handcuffing a large number of its attending doctors and indiscriminately opening fire throughout the health facility as they storm patient wards without constraints, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported on Wednesday.

The United Nations estimates that at least 2,300 people -- patients, staff, and displaced civilians -- are inside the hospital and may be unable to escape because of fierce fighting
Griffiths emphasized in his statement that the United Nations and its partners in Gaza were "committed to responding to the mounting humanitarian needs, guided, as always, by the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence."

On Monday, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that nearly all hospitals in northern Gaza are non-operational due to a shortage of electricity, medical supplies, and oxygen, as well as a lack of food and water, exacerbated by ongoing bombardments and raids.

Griffiths urged those with influence to implement his plan, which also urges the release of Israeli hostages and includes a $1.2 billion appeal for aid to Gaza.

Humanitarian organizations needed to be able to "deliver aid throughout Gaza without impediment or interference," he expressed.

"The world must act before it is too late," the head warned.

Coincidently, the UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini warned that by the end of the day, 70% of Gazans will not have clean water.

He also pleaded with "Israel" to "immediately authorize the delivery of the needed amount of fuel" for humanitarian operations.

“It is appalling that fuel continues to be used as a weapon of war. For the past five weeks, UNRWA has been pleading to get fuel in support of the humanitarian operation in Gaza. This seriously paralyzes our work and the delivery of assistance to the Palestinian communities in Gaza," Lazzarini stressed.

Today, @UNRWA received just over 23,000 litres of fuel to the #GazaStrip

It can't be used for the overall humanitarian response, including medical & water facilities or the work of @UNRWA

It is appalling that fuel continues to be used as a weapon of war.https://t.co/inDNNRACMD

No evidence of military HQ
    at Al-Shifa Hospital
There have been no tunnels or command centers found beneath the medical center, contrary to previous claims made by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF)

The Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing a European diplomat, that "Israel" has not found conclusive evidence of Palestinian fighters' presence at the Al-Shifa medical complex in Gaza.

According to the source that has not been named, there have been no tunnels or command centers found beneath the medical center, contrary to previous claims made by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF). As a result, there is international pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire.

Mossad and CIA intelligence failed again. Israel admits there are no tunnels being used under Al Shifa hospital.

3Earlier today, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that the occupation's tanks have renewed their efforts to storm the Al-Shifa Medical Complex from the southern side.

Our correspondent reported that the occupation forces bulldozed the areas in the vicinity of the maternity section at Shifa Hospital, adding that IOF tanks are opening fire on anyone attempting to leave.

He also added that the IOF detained a number of medical workers and technical staff at the hospital.

On another note, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported earlier that the IOF had demolished several medical departments during their raid on Al-Shifa.

The ministry specified that the IOF demolished the radiology department and detonated the burns trauma and nephrology departments.

In a statement, Dr. Abu Salmiya said that the departments of maternity, emergency, and surgery have also been targeted, among others.

He also told reporters that the hospital had completely run out of food, water, and electricity, noting that the IOF bombed the hospital's main water pipe
Although the oxygen reserves have been depleted, Abu Salmiya stated that hospital staff have chosen to stay in the building, refusing to evacuate without the patients.

Communication cut in Gaza

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reports that transmission stations have run out of fuel and that all means of communication have been cut off in the entire Strip

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported at dawn on Friday that information regarding the events in the northern Gaza Strip was not available after all means of communication were cut.

Our correspondent added, "The transmission stations in Gaza have depleted their fuel supply, leading to a complete disruption of communications and the internet throughout the entire Strip."

Communication services in the Gaza Strip came to a complete halt after the entry of fuel into the Strip was blocked by the Israeli occupation. This information was verified by both the United Nations and the two telecommunications operators.

Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch issued a warning about potentially "deadly" repercussions.

The two primary telecommunications companies in the sector, Paltel and Jawwal, stated in a press release on Thursday that all services were disrupted due to the prevention of fuel entry, and all backup energy sources required to operate the main network were depleted.

The occupation has blocked the entry of fuel into the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Amid the cut of communication, the IOF uses the blackout to commit the most heinous atrocities, without the world watching them.

Three days ago, Andrea De Domenico, Head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated that the United Nations team lacks the required fuel for trucks and forklifts essential in unloading and delivering humanitarian aid in Gaza.

"The trucks that will arrive starting from tomorrow - we will not simply be able to unload them because you know, we don't have the fuel for the forklift. And we do not have the fuel for the trucks that are distributing that assistance out to where the people in need are," Domenico said in a briefing to journalists.

He added that the humanitarian pauses declared by "Israel" were carried out solely by the IOF, primarily as a means to evacuate the Northern area under relatively safe conditions.

Earlier this week, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces have committed yet another massacre, killing 12 Palestinians and injuring dozens in an airstrike on two houses in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

Our correspondent also reported that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on civilians in Gaza City, where ground incursions are taking place. He also documented a chilling incident in which the IOF intentionally shot a Palestinian woman holding a white flag, attached her body to their tank, and dragged it behind.

Numerous Palestinians killed in an Israeli massacre in Jabalia, located in the northern Gaza Strip, were taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, as per our correspondent. He further emphasized that the occupation committed such atrocities amid a communications blackout and an alarming international silence.

Al-Shifa Hospital forced to evacuate

Israel forces the medical staff, thousands of displaced Palestinians, and patients, many in severe condition, to evacuate Al-Shifa Hospital on foot

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that supervisors at Al-Shifa Hospital have verified that forced evacuations have now begun, while a large number of wounded people and 5 doctors will remain in the hospital, knowing that the medical teams have no nowhere to go and are indispensable
Our correspondent reported that the scenes inside and outside the hospital are unprecedented and horrifying, shedding light on another crisis represented by the challenges of evacuating the wounded due to the severity of their conditions and with no alternative hospitals or safe shelters to head to.

He further noted that the hospital does not have any ambulances to transport the patients and premature babies to the southern part of Gaza, adding that many patients were rushingly placed on wheelchairs or rolling beds.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that the premature babies are still in the hospital and it is trying to contact the Red Cross concerning them.

Premature babies are facing dire conditions due to the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, which led to their incubators going out of service and the cessation of other critical services in many hospitals due to power outages, fuel scarcity, and oxygen depletion.

Family members were compelled to carry their injured children or parents themselves as they marched on foot, as per our reporter.

It is worth noting that the invading Israeli forces have not supplied any means of transportation or fuel for ambulances or any vehicles to transfer patients, premature babies, and displaced families during the forced evacuation.

Our reporter also confirmed that a large number of evacuees left the hospital toward al-Wihda Street.

On its account, the Ministry of Health has appealed to the international community to intervene and halt the aggression against Al-Shifa Hospital, highlighting an unfolding catastrophe.

He added that among those who left the hospital are elderly individuals who are unable to continue the journey southward. The displaced individuals will cover a lengthy distance toward Deir al-Balah, where car movement is restricted.

Our correspondent highlighted that the most intense shelling last night was taking place in Gaza, resulting in a preliminary count of approximately 110 martyrs in the north and south.

IOF give Al-Shifa Hospital one-hour ultimatum to evacuate

Earlier, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that the Israeli occupation forces have forewarned the administration of Al-Shifa Hospital of the need to evacuate the hospital of employees, patients, and the wounded.

This foreboding coincided with the IOF bulldozing operations in the eastern areas of the hospital.

An AFP journalist at the scene reported that the IOF warned the medical staff and patients over loudspeakers to "evacuate the within an hour."

Furthermore, the hospital's director, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, told AFP that he was called by the IOF and instructed to ensure "the evacuation of patients, the wounded, the displaced and medical staff, and that they should move on foot towards the seafront."

It is worth noting that the press office of the authorities in Gaza has announced that over 12,000 people have died as a result of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, 5,000 of whom were children.

Palestinian olive harvester under attack

Israeli Occupation Forces along with Illegal Israeli settlers, attack and expel Palestinian olive harvesters from their ancestral (Palestinian) lands in West Bank

In the village of Burin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, situated south of Nablus, settlers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces, assaulted Palestinian farmers harvesting olives. The attackers confiscated both the harvested crops and the tools used for the harvesting, according to local sources.

In the village of al-Sawiyeh, south of Nablus, IOF compelled olive pickers to cease their harvest and evacuate their lands, according to Mahmoud Hassan, the head of the village council. Hassan stated that the IOF deployed tear gas canisters in the eastern part of the village, hindering the landowners from continuing their work and forcing them to leave.

In the southern West Bank villages of Kisan and Nahalin, the IOF stormed the areas and prevented farmers from harvesting their olive crops, according to Hasan Breijieh from the Wall and Colonies Resistance Commission.

Earlier, soldiers conducted a raid north of Nahalin, firing shots to intimidate farmers and force them out of their lands, threatening them not to return. In Kisan, soldiers obstructed landowners from harvesting olives on their lands near illegal settlements.
A 'new Nakba' is ongoing in West Bank alongside a genocide in Gaza

As the Israeli genocide in Gaza is ongoing, it might seem inappropriate to shift focus to the relatively smaller but troubling settlers' violence and IOF's terrorism in the occupied West Bank. However, it would be a mistake to underestimate the dangers posed by the recent surge in violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.

This seems to be a strategic calculation made by "Israel" to expand its illegal settlements and steal more Palestinian land. Reports indicate a notable increase in the number of Palestinians forcibly displaced or killed since Oct. 7. The occupation seems to be fully aware that the diverting global and Israeli attention from the West Bank provides cover for more land usurpation in the area.

At the beginning of this month, the 150 residents of Khirbet Zanuta have been forcibly displaced once again. Armed settlers, some of whom were dressed in reserve army uniforms and others concealing their identities, have started to break into their homes during the night, assaulting adults, vandalizing and looting possessions, and traumatizing their children.

At the time, men and women were in tears as they were forced to disassemble their homes on Monday, hastily loading solar panels, animal feed, and personal items onto pickup trucks. The sounds of the demolitions by Israeli bulldozers filled the air, and the resulting dust and debris shook them to the core.

Meanwhile, disturbing videos have emerged on social media, showing Israeli soldiers torturing and physically abusing Palestinian detainees who are lying on the ground, naked, with their hands and feet bound.

In short, the number of Palestinians killed and arrested in the West Bank alone does not capture the full extent of the terror experienced by Palestinians, including the destruction of hundreds of olive trees, property vandalism, physical assaults, shootings, and the construction of roads and outposts connecting settlements.

This is an ethnic cleansing, but obviously, Biden will do nothing nor EU, against Israel politics. Our leaders are such wastes of space.
But at least, everybody talk about that. When Kurds and other people are chased away from their olive fields, as in Afrin, no one opens the mouth.

Al-Shifa Hospital a death zone

The WHO announces plans for immediate evacuation of Al-Shfia Hospital due to the dire conditions, including a mass grave at the entrance and nearly 300 patients left inside with 25 health workers

Gaza's main hospital Al-Shifa Hospital has been characterized as a "death zone" by the World Health Organization, prompting evacuation plans, while Israeli invading forces announced an expansion of operations.

There are now 25 health workers and 291 patients at Al-Shifa, according to the WHO. Patients include 32 babies in “extremely critical condition," two people in intensive care without ventilation, and 22 dialysis patients whose access to life-saving treatment has been severely compromised.

The assessment followed a visit by WHO and other UN officials to the hospital, which had been raided by Israeli troops earlier in the week.

In a separate incident, over 80 people were reported killed in twin strikes on a northern Gaza refugee camp, including a UN school sheltering displaced individuals
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent revealed that the Israeli occupation army is dealing with all health facilities in Gaza as targets that must be attacked, adding that they can no longer meet the healthcare needs of the residents of the Gaza Strip.

Social media videos verified by AFP depicted heart-wrenching scenes in Jabalia, the largest refugee camp in the Palestinian territory.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, described the images as "horrifying", and Egypt condemned the bombing as a "war crime" and a "deliberate insult to the United Nations."

Another strike in Jabalia camp claimed the lives of 32 people from the same family, including 19 children, according to health authorities in Gaza. To downplay the scale of the massacres, the Israeli army acknowledged an "incident in the Jabalia region" under review.

    "They were sleeping..."

    — Al Mayadeen English (@MayadeenEnglish) November 18, 2023
Meanwhile, the ongoing air and ground aggression on Gaza has resulted in a total of 12,300 martyrs, with more than 5,000 being children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The UN reported that 1.6 million people were forcibly displaced within the Gaza Strip due to six weeks of aggression. Concurrently, the total Israeli blockade of Gaza has led to shortages of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
Only in Gaza: A hospital turned into a "death zone"

The WHO has described Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza as a "death zone" with plans for immediate evacuation due to the dire conditions, including a mass grave at the entrance and nearly 300 patients left inside with 25 health workers.

On Saturday, hundreds of people were ordered to evacuate the hospital by the Israeli invading forces, and at least 15 bodies were found along the evacuation route. WHO highlighted the critical condition of patients, including 29 with serious spinal injuries, others with infected wounds, and 32 premature babies in extremely critical condition.

Israeli bombs Indonesian Hospital

A number of Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip

A number of doctors at the Indonesian Hospital were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation targeting the hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza said earlier on Monday.

Our correspondent quoted medical sources, noting a preliminary toll of 12 martyrs as a result of the Israeli bombing of the hospital, adding that the occupation tanks bombed the operation room
Among those who were martyred were a number of civilians who had previously been injured and were receiving treatment at the hospital.

Importantly, it was underscored that despite the fact that the Indonesian Hospital remained the only hospital welcoming the injured from Gaza City, Israeli tanks surrounded it and bombed its exterior courtyard.

Yet another Israeli war crime

In turn, the Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that a new war crime was committed by the Israeli occupation against hospitals in the Gaza Strip, as its tanks targeted the hospital.

IOF drones reportedly shoot at anyone trying to leave the Indonesian Hospital in northern #Gaza.
5,000 displaced Gazans and 650 patients are in the hospital, which has only 140 beds. Despite the lack of power as a result of the IOF bombing, 20 ICU patients on ventilators are… pic.twitter.com/9Sqm0hzFUF
    — Angelo Giuliano (@Angelo4justice3) November 20, 2023
Medical sources reported that the occupation artillery bombed the second floor of the hospital, which led to massive destruction, in addition to the injury of two doctors performing their duty, noting that the number of martyrs had further increased due to the resulting electricity cut-off making it difficult to perform surgical operations to save the lives of the wounded.

According to Quds News Network, it was reported that the head of the orthopedic department of the Indonesian hospital, Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, was injured in the Israeli shelling.

The sources also indicated that there are thousands of displaced people inside the hospital, and about 150 wounded, in addition to the medical staff and workers in the hospital whose number does not exceed 100, and who are living in fear of the occupation committing a massacre amid its tightening of the siege and continuous bombing.

In its most recent situation update, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that the number of casualties among its personnel during the continuing genocide in Gaza has reached 104.

"On 18 November, one UNRWA colleague was killed in the North area due to strikes. In total, 104 colleagues have been killed since the beginning of the war. This is the highest number of United Nations aid workers killed in a conflict in the history of the United Nations," the agency said
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has surpassed 12,300. UNRWA estimates that nearly 1.7 million individuals have been displaced in the region since October 7, with almost 884,000 seeking shelter in 154 UNRWA installations, including those in northern Gaza.

Israeli occupation prisons

The Palestinian Prisoners Information Office reports that there Over 2,200 administrative prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, this is the highest number recorded in recent history

The Office attributed this to the mass arrest campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation since October 7.

He added that the number of arrests has surpassed 3,000, pointing out that the occupation has put a significant number of arrestees in administrative detention without any charges filed.

Earlier on Sunday, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced that Israeli occupation forces assassinated 38-year-old prisoner Thaer Sameeh Abu Asab from Qalqilya Province in al-Naqab Desert prison.

Israeli occupation forces arrested Abu Asab on May 27, 2005, and sentenced him to 25 years in prison. It is noteworthy that Abu Asab is the sixth prisoner to be assassinated by the Israeli occupation following the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7.

The Prisoners Club indicated that the Israeli occupation is carrying out systematic operations against Palestinian prisoners, holding international powers supporting the Israeli occupation responsible, amid the ongoing violations committed against prisoners in Israeli prisons.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the occupation forces have arrested more than 2,735 Palestinians, according to the Prisoners’ Club, and about 170 Palestinians were martyred in the West Bank.

This comes as the Israeli occupation conceals all information related to the arrestees' identities, places of detention, and health conditions, despite all the demands made by the relevant institutions over the past period, and, still, the occupation refuses to disclose any information about them.

Israel deliberately kills
    Al Mayadeen's crew
Al Mayadeen's correspondent, Farah Omar, alongside cameraman Rabih Me'mari, were martyred today by an Israeli bombing that deliberately targeted them after they had just finished their live broadcast

Al Mayadeen's correspondent, Farah Omar, and cameraman Rabih Me'mari were murdered earlier today in an Israeli airstrike on their location in Tayr Harfa, South Lebanon.

An Israeli warplane fired two rockets on Farah and Rabih's location.

Farah and Rabih had just ended a live broadcast at 10 a.m., giving updates on the latest Israeli bombardment in South Lebanon. She and her colleagues were targeted soon after they wrapped up their coverage and went off air.

Israel has not been averse to the targeting of journalists, and has done so numerous times in the past month, both in Gaza and in South Lebanon.

Soon after the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and as Israeli shelling on South Lebanon began to increase, Israel bombed journalists covering the events in the South, killing Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah, wounding two other Reuters journalists and an Al-Jazeera crew.

Again, on November 13, Israel launched a strike on media crews, including Al Mayadeen's, in the Lebanese town of Yaroun, near the border. However, the attack thankfully did not result in any injuries.

Al Mayadeen banned in Occupied Palestine

The intentional killing of our beloved colleagues Farah and Rabih comes after the Israeli war cabinet approved on November 13 regulations that would allow the occupation government to ban and shut down Al Mayadeen Media Network in Palestine.

According to the decision, Al Mayadeen is said to be harming Israeli "national security."

Commenting on this issue, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, during an interview with Al-Nour Radio, confirmed that "Israel's" decision to ban Al Mayadeen "was not a technical decision. It was not even a political decision. In fact, it was a military decision related to the national security of Israel."
"For the first time in history, the war cabinet, entrusted by the United States to make the most important decisions during this war, met to discuss Al Mayadeen Network as a topic on its agenda," he explained.

Families pay final respects to Farah & Rabih

Sheikh Maher Hammoud, the head of the World Union of Muslim Scholars described Farah and Rabih as martyrs on the path of Al-Quds, akin to the Resistance's fallen martyrs

The funeral processions for our martyred colleagues Farah Omar and Rabih Me'mari started this morning at Al Mayadeen's HQ in Beirut.

The remains of photojournalist Rabih Me'mari were laid to rest in the southern suburb of Beirut, while Farah Omar's remains are set to be laid to rest in her hometown of Machghara in West Bekaa.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in South Lebanon, Farah Omar, alongside photojournalist Rabih Me'mari, were martyred on Tuesday by an Israeli drone that deliberately targeted them.

Our beloved colleagues consistently reported on Israeli atrocities in southern Lebanon despite Israeli threats. These two journalists were united in a bond forged by their dedication, bravery, and, ultimately, their sacrifice.

They have ascended as two new martyrs, true heroes, performing their journalistic duties to expose the Israeli occupation's crimes during the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

Who is Farah Omar?

Farah Hisham Omar, 25, was born on June 18, 1998, and is from Machghara in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon.

She joined Al Mayadeen in 2021 as a news editor and correspondent and was pursuing her Master's degree in journalism and media from the Lebanese University.

Farah participated in several coverages with Al Mayadeen, including the coverage of the Lebanese parliamentary elections in 2022 and the coverage of the Turkish presidential and parliamentary elections in May of this year.

Farah also worked as a producer for the "Ala Fekra" segment in Al Mayadeen Online, addressing various issues related to the developments in Lebanon.

Known for her bravery, Farah insisted on covering the unfolding events in southern Lebanon, conveying the truth, and giving the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of her message.

Who is Rabih Me'mari ?

Rabih Me'mari, 44, was born on January 1, 1979, and hails from Tripoli, northern Lebanon.

Rabih was married to Manal Jaafar, who also works at Al Mayadeen Media Network, with whom he has two children, Rami (4) and Maria (2).

Me'mari joined Al Mayadeen shortly after its launch in July 2012 as a photojournalist, with over 20 years of experience in the field.

Known for his professional commitment and mastery of photography, he was part of Al Mayadeen's most important and tense coverages.

He accompanied Al Mayadeen's team from the beginning of the channel's coverage of events in southern Lebanon, returning to Beirut on rotation with his colleagues.

However, he insisted on returning to Southern Lebanon to perform his duty on the frontlines until he was martyred while covering the Israeli aggression in South Lebanon.

UNIFIL Condemns Targeting of Journalists

On Tuesday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) condemned the targeting of journalists and civilians in a recent Israeli strike on southern Lebanon.

UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said that the UNIFIL was shocked and saddened to learn that a group of journalists was hit in south Lebanon, while extending condolences to the families and friends of those killed near Tayr Harfa.

"We continue to urge all parties to respect their safety and avoid striking areas where they may be hurt or killed," Tenenti said, emphasizing that intentionally targeting journalists and civilians is a violation of international law that may amount to war crimes
Two journalists and one civilian were killed on Tuesday morning in Israeli attacks, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

"Journalism is not a crime. Israel's killing of journalists is a barbaric attempt to silence the truth and hide its genocide in Gaza. In less than 5 weeks, Israel killed 49 Palestinian journalists. We must not let them win," professor Rami Abdu said through social media.

Also on Tuesday, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, who was in Belgium for a visit, said his country would file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council to call for the condemnation of "this heinous crime" of killing journalists, according to the NNA.

The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing increased tension for over six weeks after Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Shebaa Farms on Oct. 8 in support of the Hamas attacks on Israel the previous day.

The rocket attacks prompted the Israeli forces to respond by firing heavy artillery toward several areas in southeastern Lebanon.

BCF Sending Humanitarian Aid to Gazans

The Kurdish Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) on Wednesday announced a sizeable dispatch of humanitarian assistance to people affected by war in the Gaza Strip

In a joint press conference with Palestinian Consul General to Erbil Nazmi Hazouri, the head of the BCF, Musa Ahmad, said: "The Barzani Charity Foundation is dispatching 14 tons of medicines and medical equipment, 2,500 food baskets, 200 health baskets, and 200 cartons of clothing to the people of Gaza."

The humanitarian aid and relief will be transported by plane to Egypt, where the aid will be transferred to Gaza through the Rafah border crossing for delivery.

For his part, Consul General Hazouri said: "We are very grateful for the humanitarian assistance, which is to be dispatched by the Barzani Charity Foundation. This is neither new, nor strange to us. The Kurdish nation has always extended aid and assistance to the people of Palestine."

Situated in the Kurdistan Region, the BCF serves a crucial function as a charity organization, operating at both local and regional levels. Its main objective is to provide financial assistance to underprivileged families and extend humanitarian aid and relief to individuals impacted by natural disasters and conflicts.

Furthermore, the charity group supplies essential resources to internally displaced persons (IDPs), including tents, blankets, medical supplies, educational materials, food packages, financial aid, and other essential provisions.

Israeli Genocide in Gaza death toll 14,854
Among them more than 6000 children
The government press office of Gaza released a statement detailing that the death toll exceeded 14, 854 Palestinians including "more than 6,150 children."

The death toll in Gaza has risen to 14,854 since the aggression on Palestinians began, with almost 6,150 children among the dead, according to officials in the strip on Thursday.

The government press office of Gaza released a statement detailing that the death toll exceeded 14, 854 Palestinians including "more than 6,150 children."

In addition, more than 36,000 people have been injured as a result of the bombardment.

The government media office of Gaza also announced that more than 207 doctors, nurses, and paramedics have been martyred by the Israeli aggression.

The death toll of journalists martyred has surpassed 65

Since cemeteries became full, a mass burial was held on Wednesday in Khan Younis for dozens of Palestinians killed during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced on Thursday that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have detained Awni Khattab, the director of a medical clinic in Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip
The PRCS posted on X that it is "deeply worried about Awni Khattab, our colleague the head of Khan Younis Medical Center, #Gaza. Israeli forces arrested him and now his whereabouts are unknown."

The IOF has not spared medical centers from their brutality indiscriminately targeting civilians and medical personnel in what has been described as the most brutal night since the start of the aggression 48 days ago, leaving dozens of casualties.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported that the remains of the martyrs have been spread out on the second floor of the hospital and that the IOF has taken some of the martyrs' remains, effectively keeping them hostage.

200 wounded patients, along with the medical staff are still besieged in the Indonesian hospital by the IOF.
