Jameel Suleiman Haider, KRG Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources , met with the Jordanian Consul General in Erbil Faez al- Khori.

They discussed during the meeting, relations and coordination between Kurdistan Region and Jordan in the economic field and the exchange of experiences and information in order to develop the agricultural sector in Kurdistan Region.

Al- Khori commended the stable security situation in Kurdistan Region which encourages the Jordanian companies to invest and contribute in revving the agriculture and irrigation sector here

German car maker BMW opened a branch and a service centre in Erbil , the capital of Kurdistan Region.

The opening ceremony was attended by the deputy governor of Erbil and the Manager of BMW in the Middle East ,the Director of al- Arosh Company and the Head of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Kurdistan Region and a number of businessmen.

Erbil, June 29 (AKnews) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Health has allocated $1.24 billion to the revitalization and development of the region’s public health facilities.Tahir Hawrami , Waziry Tandrusty

Speaking at a press conference today, KRG Health Minister Tahir Hawrami said that $38.2 million will be used to build 21 public health clinics across the region’s three provinces, more than doubling the 19 medical centers currently found in Kurdistan.

A further $23.1 million will be used to bring in 65 heart specialists and surgeons from India and purchase medication to treat heart conditions.

$41.1 million, meanwhile, has been consecrated to the development of human resources and specialized internal training at the cardiac clinics and hospitals in Sulaimaniyah and Dohuk.

Additional pay rises across the board in public medicine are planned in a bid to attract doctors and medical specialists from the private sector to join their workforce.

Erbil, July 26 (AKnews) – The first governmental owned brick factory in Iraq Kurdistan started operating in Erbil today.
Block factory
The factory which can produce 8,000 cement building blocks daily was opened in a ceremony where Samir Abdullah, Minister for Municipality and Tourism said the ministry hopes to raise the daily output capacity to 20,000.

Abdullah told the reporters the plant was constructed by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization and is now run under the supervision of the Water and Sewage Directorate.

The factory will provide materials for governmental projects and will also sell to companies and individuals at a below market price.

Currently each brik is sold at 1,250 Iraqi Dinar (nearly $1.2) but the governmental plant will sell for 1,100 IQD.

Kirkuk - Slemani train line design has been completed and all the 4 cities will be connected with the train line . the project will need 4 billion .

Hoshyar Rasul the manager of the project said the design has been done by Guzar automatikay . it will be 115 Kms long will include 6 stop stations and and 2 tunnels . he said all other 3 kurdistan cities will be connected by the same line and will be done by a Russian company without giving out the name .

in a new step KRG electricity ministry has announced it will increase the capacity to 6000 mega watts by installing new power plans across kurdistan . the ministry has asked the major companies in electricity sector to come forward with their plans and projects . apart from building really advanced power plants the project will also include few high net of 400 KVs. the announcement comes after the private sector in electricity has been successful in kurdistan and it has been able to produce 1550 mega watts at the moment from gas power stations and 200 from Dukan and Darbandikhan dams which will be provided to kirkuk province through the new constructed power lines that links KRG to Kirkuk .

Agricultural minster and water resources has started implementing growing fish in cage on the Dukan lake . the ministry also has announced they will implement same projects across kurdistan 2 in Erbil 1 in Duhok 1 in Kerkuk region and 2 more in Slemani. they also said they have allocated enough budget to lend money for those willing to grow fish in these lakes for each m square 15-20 baby fish will be provided.

Erbil, Sep.15 (AKnews) - During a meeting with Jana Hybášková, head of the European Union's delegation to Iraq, Kurdistan Region's president Massoud Barzani stressed the importance of Kurdish-European relations.

In a statement, published on the President's website, Barzani pointed out that relations with the EU are important and that he hopes to strengthen them.

Ms Hybášková agreed with Barzani and also stressed the importance of Kurdish-European relations. She said, the EU wants to further develop them them.

Maintaining stability in Iraq would be a key issue, said the EU-representative and noted that the European Union pays attention to the current tensions between the Kurdish and the federal government over the new oils and gas law.

Barzani also affirmed his commitment to the Iraqi constitution.

Malaysian companies are willing to invest in the Kurdistan Region, according to the Kurdish Government's representative for trade affairs in Dubai, Shilan Khanga.

Khanga met with Malaysia's commerce consul in Dubai, Datu Zoulkufl, to urge Malaysian companies to come to the Kurdistan Region.

"Malaysia is especially famous for tourism and its companies have the experience that the Kurdistan Region can benefit from," Khanqa said.

According to Khanga, five of Malaysia's largest companies, specializing in construction and tourism, have already promised to seek investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.

They will visit Erbil for the fifth International Construction and Energy Fair next week.
