The meeting between Kurdish parties delegates was attended by the Kirkuk Govenor Nejmadin Karim Friday, May 18, 2012 Kurdish political parties held a meeting insisting that their unity take part in the provincial elections in Kirkuk.
The meeting was in the office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on May 16, where all the Kurdish parties sent their high delegations and insisted that their unity be permitted to take part as one list in the elections.
Sheikh Swara Kamal, a Gorran Movement member said, “Along with confirming our unity to the elections, we talked about how to make the services and security better.” He added, “Most of the parties were positive about supporting Kirkuk Governor Nejmadin Karim to serve people better.”
The Gorran (Change) Movement, which is the biggest opposition bloc in Kurdistan, has asked for a change in the office directors.
Hashim Mala Ali, head of the Kurdistan Democratic People party said, “The meeting was aimed at cementing relations among Kurdish parties.” The parties also decided to hold a monthly meeting between the parties.
The meeting was part a series of meetings being held between the political parties to promote being united while entering the provincial elections in Kirkuk.
