Very nice :)

When did he write this?

Anthea wrote:Western Kurdistan: A call for unity

To the Kurdish people in Western Kurdistan and to the Kurds in all Syrian cities

To the Kurdish parties and organizations in Western Kurdistan and all organizations of young people in Western Kurdistan

Dear sisters and brothers,

Greetings

The conditions of uprisings and revolutions which have passed and are still sweeping across the Middle East, including Syria and Western Kurdistan (Syrian Kurdistan), and which has not happened to be seen in the past and probably will not be repeated later, gave a vent to the oppressed peoples and a great opportunity to lift the injustice and oppression resulting from Sykes-Picot’s agreement in the last century.

Some consider that the suffering of our Kurdish people was a result of its weakness, but I take the opposite is true, because it happened from the division of our Kurdish community and its being controlled by most insignificant people, and it was caused by the power of our hero nation to preserve its humanity and civilization, and as well by the fear of others, the Kurdish people might come to control the entire Middle East if they would achieve their freedom and the independence of their homeland. But the Kurdish power is not consisting of imposing their influence on others by force, iron and fire, but through their faith in justice and humanity and civilization, for example, when the Kurdish people ruled the Middle East several times in history, for instance in the time of the Kurdish Sultan Saladin Ayouby, who did great justice to the people in the Middle East, as even his opponents, the kings of Europe, mentioned it. And at the time of the Kurdish Median Empire, about 3000 years ago, the Kurdish emperor issued his orders in seven languages.

Kurdish people’s rule was characterized by justice and equality between the ruler and the ruled, and the Kurdish people did not impose themselves and their language on other peoples of the Middle East. They also recognised these peoples and their own languages. But the other nations of the Middle East imposed their languages on the Kurds, and the Kurdish language was prevented from circulation to this day.

The issue of the Kurdish people in Western Kurdistan is the freedom and independence of their country Kurdistan. Like the rest of nations there, we do not want the continuing tension between us and them forever. That means, the Kurdish people by nature like to live with others, but on the basis of justice and equality. There can never be coexistence between free citizens and slaves.

The lack of unity among the Kurdish people has increased the fragmentation and rivalry in all aspects of Kurdish mobility. To my deep regret it reached the degree of low-ties where every organisation sees itself as the alternative and the only alternative and the others are looked at to be nothing and to be charged and played down by others as well, while all without exception are seeking the recognition of the Syrian opposition and the world powers, and are seeking respect for the demands of the Kurdish people. But in fact we, the Kurds, if we do not recognize each other and if we don’t respect all directions, Kurdish people will not get the recognition and respect of the Syrian opposition forces and the regional and global levels.

The realization of our unity in this propitious day and time is one of the most important factors for the freedom of our Kurdish people, and we will reap only regret and disappointment over this stage without our union. And that opportunity will not be repeated.

Most of the Kurdish parties and organisations are calling for unity and democracy, and this is meaning that every one of us should respect the opinion of others even if they differed with their opinion.

The Kurdish National Council at the conference held in Qamishlo on 26.10.2011 asked for the self-determination for the Kurds. Also the daily slogan of the masses is federalism in their demonstrations in all Kurdish towns and villages.

In order to agree on one speech, I collected the demands of Kurdish parties and organisations for unity and democracy with the demand of the Kurdish National Council for the right of self-determination and the demand of federalism of the protesters to make a uniform slogan which includes most of the parties as a minimum to sit at the round table as follows:

Union of Western Kurdistan region in a Federal Democratic System on the basis of the right of the Kurdish people to self-determination

Therefore I call for a Kurdistan National Congress in any European country, away from any influence of the Syrian and Turkish regimes to take free decisions. Kurdish unity and a unified Kurdish discourse will pave the way to take the role of the Kurdish people in the next stage in any dialogue with others regionally and internationally. I want to affirm that this is not an article or a statement but a practical step on the road to freedom…

If you find that a large proportion of the Kurdish forces intend to take part in the success of this project, I will be ready to secure the venue of the conference and arrangements in a European country.

With greetings

Dr Jawad Mela

President

Western Kurdistan Government in Exile

He can be friends, if he agrees to the demands of the KNC, why not.

Assad Envoy to Kurdistan: Damascus is a Friend of the Kurds

In last year’s elections, said Ose, he won 130,000 votes, most of them from Damascus’s Kurdish community to secure a seat in the Syrian parliament. Photo: Rudaw

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Syrian President Bashar Assad remains a friend of his country’s large Kurdish minority and wants to keep their relatively calmer regions out of the civil war, said an envoy from Damascus visiting Erbil last week.

Omar Ose, a Kurdish member of the Syrian parliament who is close to the embattled Syrian president, said Assad “is aware of my visit to the Kurdistan Region and he is glad that I am here. In this visit I will explain the Syrian situation to Kurdistan’s leadership as it is.”

According to Ose, who said he had met Assad twice, the president is intent on keeping the Kurdish areas out of a war that has been raging since March 2011, in which up to 120,000 people are believed to have died.

“President Assad from the very beginning warned the Syrian army to stay away from confronting or killing the Kurds,” Ose said.

He cautioned that neighboring Turkey is practicing a more hostile policy towards Syrian Kurds than Damascus.

“Now the Turkish government plays a very bad role against Syria and Syrian Kurds,” he said. “It supports terrorist groups to target the Kurds. All Turkey wants is to displace the Kurds, just like now.”

Ose acknowledged that the Kurds have acted wisely by not getting involved in the war, but that they made a mistake in declining Assad’s call for negotiations at the outset of the revolution.

“A year and a half ago he (Assad) sent a plane to the Qamishlo airport to bring the Kurdish leadership to Damascus, but the Kurdish leadership made a historical mistake and refused Assad’s invitation,” Ose explained. “Back then the Kurdish leadership believed that Assad would collapse in a couple of weeks, so why meet with him.”

In an effort to reach out to regional leaders about his country’s crisis, the Syrian president invited Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani to Damascus last year, which the latter declined.

According to Ose, Assad understands the delicate position of the Iraqi Kurds and therefore “he was not upset by (Barzani’s) refusal.”

Though Syrian Kurdish parties treat the mainstream opposition with suspicion and refuse to join the war against the regime in Damascus, Ose believes some Kurdish groups are now contemplating joining the opposition, which he sees as “a major mistake.”

“The current Syrian regime is much better than the opposition for the Kurds,” he warned. “It is in the interest of the Kurds if Assad stayed in power.”

“President Assad knows the situation of Kurdistan,” said Ose. “He understands that Kurdistan has good relations with Turkey, America, and Europe.”

Ose said that the Syrian president perceives the Iraqi Kurds as friends and that he warns them of the calamitous consequences of the possible fall of Damascus.

“He (Assad) told me ‘when you visit Kurdistan tell the Kurdish leadership that we are not against you. We are friends and in the same front.’ He also said ‘tell them that if Syria collapses then it will be Iran’s turn, then after Iran it will be Kurdistan Region’s turn.’”

Several weeks ago when reports surfaced of the massacre of Kurdish civilians in Syria by armed Islamist groups, President Barzani vowed to protect the Kurds, by possibly sending Peshmarga forces across the border. This act, said Ose, would have been acceptable to Damascus.

“Assad does not have problems with Peshmarga forces going to Syria to protect Syrian Kurdistan,” Ose maintained. “But that should be done in a coordinated way, and shouldn’t cause a Kurdish-Kurdish war.”

In last year’s elections, said Ose, he won 130,000 votes, most of them from Damascus’s Kurdish community to secure a seat in the Syrian parliament.

On the situation of Syria’s Kurds, Ose said, “The Kurds ask for democracy, but they do not treat each other democratically.”

"Assad is a friend of Kurds" This is a joke! The only reason Assad doesn't want to fight the Kurds now is because he is cornered and doesn't want to open another front. Assad is happy that the Al-Nusra and other Jihadists are doing the job for him. Strangely, Turkey's support for the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Nusra group is to Assad's benefit. Even through Turkey wants to see Assad go. That goes to show you how complicated and dirty proxy wars can be. Importantly, it also shows that Turkey will support anything and anyone as long as they have an anti Kurdish agenda. On the one hand Turkey supports anti Assad opposition. On the other hand its support of Al-Nusra terror group is to Assad's benefit. Doesn't this policy of Turkey sounds like prostitution? Bottom line, It's too late for us Kurds to be fooled anymore. The days that Kurds were used as pawns in regional wars is over! The Arabs, Turks and Persians should wake up and smell the coffee. We Kurds are the one that set our own agenda not them! Welcome to 21the century!!!

It is true that Assad is a tyrant and does not have a clean past. But now that we have seen how brutal, how merciless and savage the rebels are, one might think that Assad is better. Assad is right when he says the rebels are criminals and gangsters. They truly are. However, the Kurds should not ally with Assad or the rebels. They are wise to have stayed out of this Shia-Sunni war.

YPG takes the Susik village, 60 gang members killed
ANF - Tal Abyad 15.09.2013 11:11:45
Western Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) have launched "Martyr Dilovan and Aleppo Martyrs" operation in Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) as part of the "Şehîd Çekjin Revolutionary Operation" they started early September in response to the attacks of al-Qaeda linked Islamist gang groups fighting against them.

YPG fighters have attacked the headquarters of the gang groups deployed in the Susik village, 10 km away from Tal Abyad, at around 2 a.m. last night. YPG took the control of the village where 60 members of the gang groups were killed and two others taken captive in the operation which lasted till early hours of the morning. Kurdish fighters also seized six vehicles and ammunitions of the jihadist armed groups.

The Susik village is the third one YPG has cleared of gang groups since the beginning of the revolutionary operation.

Children in Rojava to have education in Kurdish
ANF - Qamishlo 15.09.2013 17:34:25
The Kurdish Language Association (SZK) and the Union of Teachers in western Kurdistan have finalized their preparations for the provision of Kurdish education at schools.

During a meeting held on 7 September, the Union of Teachers decided on the replacement of schools' names with new ones in Kurdish.

SZK Coordination member Nesrin Doko said that three thousand teachers have been trained for Kurdish education in less then two years' time. Doko remarked that Kurdish education would be provided at all official schools where -she added- students in the first classes of primarys schools will be receiving all lessons in Kurdish, while other students will be taking lessons on the Kurdish language three hours a week.

According to Doko, Kurdish education in the areas populated by Arabs will only be provided at schools in Kurdish neighborhoods. She noted that Kurdish education will not be provided in the Aleppo city because of the ongoing conflict environment.

Doko pointed out that they had problems with book printing because of the lack of printing houses in the region. She said the embargos around Rojava are also not allowing them to import books from outside western Kurdistan.

Look at what these dirty savages are doing! And they are even taking them to Kurdish towns in the North, to steal their organs.

Doctors removed internal organs of Rojava people hospitalized in Viranşehir
ANF - Dirbêsiyê 16.09.2013 10:11:52
Two days ago, three Kurdish civilians were brought to the state hospital in Urfa's Ceylanpınar (Serêkaniya Serxetê) district and then referred to the state hospital in Viranşehir district, suffering critical injuries caused by the attacks of al-Qaeda linked Islamist gang groups targeting the villages of Çava and Elka in western Kurdistan's Serêkaniyê region.

One among them, Selam Etayi, who reportedly had a brain hemorrhage and was critical condition, was referred to Urfa Research and Training Hospital.

The other two, Bengin Abdulaziz and Avareş, lost their life in the hospital in Viranşehir, allegedly because of the medical staff's late response and lack of particular attention to the civilians from Rojava.

The bodies of Bengin and Avareş were taken to western Kurdistan's Dirbêsiyê city on Saturday evening. Here they were examined once again by Kurdish doctors who said that the internal organs of the two people, including kidney and liver, had been removed at the Turkish hospital.

Doctors strongly responded to the incident which they commented as savagery violating both professional and human ethics.

Kurdish doctors urged Turkish authorities to clarify the incident and called on nongovernmental organizations to voice their reaction against the inhuman treatment on bodies.

Statement by the General Command of the People’s Protection Units YPG:
Yesterday was the 12th anniversary of the al Qaeda, New York terrorist bombings of 11th September. Motivated by the spirit of 11th September attacks, al Qaeda affiliated gangs of Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham ISIS and Jabhat al Nusra together with many battalions of the Free Syrian Army FSA, launched a preplanned well organized mass attack against the Kurdish liberated areas with hordes of fighters.

These attacks targeted many different strategically important places in Kurdish areas (Western Kurdistan), ranging from SereKaniye and ending with Til Kochar.

The primary objective of these attacks was to storm the Kurdish regions and occupy them.

Large groups of foreign combatants were brought from all over Syria for the attacks and a wide range of weapons were used including heavy weaponry and armoured vehicles.

However, despite the scale and ferocity of the attacks our units of YPG were completely prepared and responded immediately.

Our units put up an honourable stiff resistance on all fronts and repelled the attacks inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy forcing them to retreat leaving behind a large amount of weaponry and dead combatants.

In Serekaniye, YPG units hit the enemy hard with heavy weaponry and YPG snipers, killing 16 and injuring many more.

The al Qaeda affiliated combatants also attacked villages around Qamishlo on the 10 Sept. Responding to these attacks, our units made military rescue operations and liberated the village of Auana in a short period. The enemy again made a hasty retreat and suffered heavy losses of more than 20 fighters leaving some of their bodies on the battlefield.

In Jilaxa - Karhook, YPG units made a preemptive strike against the armed gangs preparing an attack before it's execution and killed over 13 of the enemy, stopping them in their tracks before they could advance.

At the village of Rimellan Basha, al Qaeda affiliated combatants of al Nusra and ISIS attacked with huge amounts of fighters in the early morning with the strategic military intention to occupy it. Intense firefights continued throughout the day and into the evening. Our YPG units inflicted massive losses on the terrorist groups where more than 58 of them were killed. Retreating combatants abandoned more than 35 bodies on the battlefield with a large amount of enemy fighters seriously injured.

Also on the same morning the armed terrorist groups attacked the area of Kharab Jeer supported with 2 tanks. Fierce firefights again continued until noon when YPG soldiers forced them to retreat abandoning 8 bodies of dead fighters. Total enemy losses in this engagement was over 26. YPG units collected 13 different weapons.

In the early morning hours the terrorist groups also attacked Til Kochar from two fronts on the villages of Mushayrifa and Sudaidah supported by armored vehicles and tanks. Our defense units engaged with them. Again the battles continued all day to midnight. And again with the same results!. Forcing the enemy into retreat and inflicting heavy losses. 32 of their fighters were killed. 2 tanks and 4 vehicles mounted with DShk weaponry were destroyed and a lot of weaponry seized.

As part of these coordinated violent attacks the Free Syrian Army FSA also continued on the offensive against the Kurdish districts in Aleppo, the Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafieh where our forces continued to confront and repel the racist attacks on our Kurdish areas in the last two days and inflicted heavy losses.

In Kobane region our forces ambushed the mercenary gangs in the Til Abyad front, between the villages Chalabi and Berkon. Destroying 2 vehicles mounted with DShk heavy armaments and killed 12 al Qaeda affiliated Nusra/ISIS combatants.

In all of yesterdays' historic battles, from SereKaniye to Til Kochar, our defense units made a heroic and epic resistance defending the land and people of Western Kurdistan. 8 of our own heroic soldiers were martyred.

It is now clear that the Arabic Syrian opposition has abandoned its armed fight against the Assad regime, abandoning the goal of toppling the Syrian regime and has launched full scale military offensives to fight the Kurdish people and attempting to occupy the Kurdish liberated cities and towns.

The interesting point is that the al Qaeda affiliated Jihadist groups of ISIS/al Nusra launched this murderous campaign against our Kurdish areas on the anniversary of the 11th September terrorist attacks against the twin towers in New York.

The obvious intent was to try and revive the Jihadist al Qaeda terrorist spirit on this anniversary.

Many of the battalions and brigades of the Free Syria Army FSA directly contributed to these murderous attacks, especially in Aleppo and are supportive of the militant Islamic groups in al Jazira area.

The continuing deafening silence of the Syrian Coalition and Syrian National Council towards these attacks proves that it is a partner in crime.

If it is not they need to immediately and urgently declare their position in regards these attacks on Kurdish areas.

The opposition realize well that fighting Kurds and attacking their regions only serves the Syrian regime and strengthens it militarily and politically.

They attack Kurdish cities because they can't accept the relative freedom that is enjoyed in the Kurdish areas.

We, People's Protection Units, YPG, defend our regions and we have declared a public alert on 16th July in order to defend our people and land. Our people support us from Afrin to Derike. Because of the cohesion between our forces and our people this has so far enabled us to achieve our historic victories and defeat the invaders.
We will continue this approach of resistance and protect our land and our people.

In the last 2 days we have defeated the invaders because of the resistance of our heroic soldiers and sacrifices that have been made for the homeland.

We are ready to make even greater sacrifices to protect every inch of the soil of Western Kurdistan. Our forces have proven that up to date and we will not hesitate to continue these sacrifices to the very end.

We call on our people to rally around their defense forces YPG and participate in the consolation of our comrades martyrdom and give a historic lesson to everyone thinking of invading or occupying Western Kurdistan to attempt to again enslave the Kurds.

The General Command of the People’s Protection Units YPG.

Press Release

Monday, 16 September 2013 15:45

A joint public statement and appeal by political parties and civil society organizations:

For months our areas have been subjected to horrendous attacks carried out by evil forces the majority of whom have crossed the border from neighboring countries. These forces include al Nusra, the Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham (ISIS) who have taken it upon themselves to invade our regions, kill our people, loot the property of our people and to kill them.

They have also employed a crude and psychological approach of spreading lies and misinformation in order to create tensions among different parties and peoples living in the region in an attempt to weaken the brother- and sisterhood between the sons and daughters of Western Kurdistan. They have tried to change our relatively peaceful area into an arena of conflicts between religious and ethnic groups. Ever since these groups began their war on our communities hundreds of people have lost their lives, even more have been injured, by waging war against our areas of control they have aided the Syrian regime and have given it an excuse to enter the Kurdish regions.

These aggressive attacks by terrorist forces comes at a time in when Kurdish authorities have embraced thousands of Syrian families that have fled from war torn cities to come to the Kurdish areas to find peace and safety, our people have given these internal refugees support and shelter. It is clear that these aggressive terrorist attacks target all components of the region, Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians and Armenians alike. We, parties and humanitarian organizations, youth and women's movements, strongly condemn these blatant aggressions against our areas. We urgently call on the international community, all spectrums of the national Syrian opposition and all democrats and peace loving people to condemn these divisive attacks.

We salute the resistance and bravery of the People's Protection Units, YPG who have repelled these brutal attacks for these long months. We call upon all components, peoples and parties, to participate in maintaining the security and safety of this region where hundreds of thousands of it's sons and daughters have fled to. We call on the people to unite and to administer their areas in the spirit of cooperation and co-existence, to strengthen once more the brother- and sisterhood between us so that we may counter the threat of destructive aggression and sow the seeds of peace and unity in place of murder and destruction.

So now the Turkish military is attacking because the stupid brainwashed terrorists that they are sending are getting their butts whipped by the decendents of Saladin. I hope they too get defeated if they try to enter Rojava, god bless the fearless Kurdish heros.

Turkish army opens fire on YPG fighters in Susikê village in Tal Abyad
ANF - Tal Abyad 19.09.2013 14:57:48
Turkish army opened fire on People's Defense Units (YPG) fighters in the Susike village, 10 km away from the Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) city bordering Turkey, on Thursday.

According to the reports received from YPG sources, units of the Turkish army deployed on the ‘Ceman Beg’hill on Turkey's side have launched an attack targeting YPG forces in the Susikê village at noontime.

Two fighters of the YPG have been killed in the attack which was reportedly carried out by snipers.

The Turkish attack came after the eruption of fierce clashes between YPG and al-Qaeda affiliated Islamist gang groups which launched artillery attacks against the Susikê village at around 5 a.m. on Thursday.

Six Turkish ambulances have reportedly rushed the casualties of gang members to Turkish hospitals in the morning.

YPG warns Turkey to stop supporting armed groups -FLASH
ANF - Tal Abyad 19.09.2013 16:35:53
People's Defense Units (YPG) headquarters has released a statement denouncing the Turkish state's support to al-Qaeda affiliated armed groups ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) and al-Nusra Front.

YPG pointed out that Turkey has provided support to the armed groups after they suffered a heavy defeat in fierce clashes with YPG fighters near the Susik village of Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) city of west Kurdistan in recent days.

YPG remarked that two Kurdish fighters, Baran and Cuma, were killed as a result of the fire Turkish soldiers opened from the Cuma military post targeting the Susik village today.

Commenting the attack as the manifestation of Turkish state's support to armed groups and direct involvement in the attacks against West Kurdistan, YPG warned the Turkish state against negative consequences in the event that it continued to support the armed groups. YPG urged the Turkish state to "end its dirty actions violating the security of the region".

Sixty members of the gang groups have been killed in today's clashes with YPG fighters around the Susik village, 10 km away from the Tal Abyad city bordering Turkey.

The armed groups which have reportedly started to retreat from the region have once again carried their casualties to Turkish hospitals in six ambulances today.

Three gang members had been killed in clashes with YPG fighters near the Susikê village on 18 September evening. YPG fighters also killed three other gang members and damaged two vehicles in clashes near the Birkino village of Tal Abyad.

Nine members of the gang groups had been killed in the Susik village of Tal Abyad city on Tuesday evening.

Some 81 gang members were killed in the "Martyr Dilovan and Aleppo Martyrs" operation YPG launched on 15 September in Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) as part of the "Şehîd Çekjin Revolutionary Operation" they started early September in response to the attacks of al-Qaeda linked Islamist gang groups fighting against them. According to hospital sources, over 40 wounded members of the gang groups were rushed to Turkish hospitals with ambulances.

Turkish army shells Susik village in Tal Abyad
ANF - Tal Abyad 20.09.2013 13:26:31
Turkish military shelled the Susik village of Tal Abyad (Girê Spî) city in west Kurdistan last night.

According to the reports received, three YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters have been killed in the artillery attack which lasted two hours from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. last night.

Turkish military had also opened fire on from the Cuma military post targeting the Susik village on Thursday. Two YPG fighters were killed in the attack which came after al-Qaeda affiliated gang groups suffered a heavy defeat in fierce clashes with YPG fighters in the village.

In a statement released yesterday, YPG headquarters commented the attack as the manifestation of Turkish state's support to armed groups and direct involvement in the attacks against West Kurdistan.

YPG warned the Turkish state against negative consequences in the event that it continued to support the armed groups and urged the Turkish state to "end its dirty actions violating the security of the region".

Sixty members of the gang groups were killed in yesterday's clashes with YPG fighters around the Susik village, 10 km away from the Tal Abyad city bordering Turkey.

The armed groups once again carried their casualties to Turkish hospitals in six Turkish ambulances.

The Susik village was liberated by YPG fighters on 15 September when YPG launched the "Martyr Dilovan and Aleppo Martyrs" operation as part of the "Şehîd Çekjin Revolutionary Operation" they started early September in response to the attacks of al-Qaeda linked Islamist gang groups fighting against them. Some 81 gang members were killed and 40 others were wounded in the YPG operation.

Good news, glad to hear that the YPG is advancing into new territory, especially including farther West, and closer to the sea. YPG have launched a counter offensive against the fanatics, they are suffering a little more losses as a result bit gaining territory, and there is still much contested territory that YPG can take.

The attacks of al-Qaeda linked groups in the West Kurdistan territory is primarily harming civilians who are suffering killings, torture, massacre and being displaced from their homelands by radical Islamist jihadist groups.

People's Defense Units (YPG) have sent units to the town of Atma in İdlib province for the protection of local people who called for YPG's help against al-Qaeda affiliated gang groups in the region.

Following clashes which lasted till Saturday morning, YPG fighters seized the armed groups' two headquarters in the town and repulsed them from the region.

Clashes have reportedly ceased after YPG seized the headquarters of the groups.
