Kurds were frequently attacked by the Hittites, the Akkadians, and the Third Dynasty of Ur. According to linguists Bomhard and Arno Frohn, the Hurrian language is the ancestor of modern Kurdish.

Due to repeated attacks by the Hurrians, a large portion of the Kurdish tribes retreated to the Zagros. From time to time, the Kurds retreated to the Zagros, regrouping and regrouping in historical processes.

The Hurrians-Mitanni are the ancestors of the Medes.
