About history of Kurdistan and middle east and the world.

We have no evidences that "Guti" means "Kurd", for we don't know the origins of the terms "Kurds". Some scholars think it cmomes from kytrtoii (Georgians) and then Kurds could be close relatives of Georgian ppl, but we are not sure.

But of course Kurds from today could have "Guti's blood" as Karduks, as Kard from Corduene, as Medes... in fact they are probably a synthesis of all these people !

Whether ancient Gutis spoke Kurdish or not, we still have no evidence. although some scholars think that their king names are Iranic.
But the very name Kurd is a very old name derived from very ancient people of ancient middle east. the name of Guti or 'Krd' (though we dont know were one people or two people related to eachother) likely is the origin of the modern word of ''Kurd''.
According to Izady, (who is anti-Guti) the name of Guti after Gutian invasion of southern mesopotamia was a common name for all inhabitanmts of Zagros Taurus mountains, (modern Kurdistan). after medes came to this region babylonians and Assyrians refered to them as Gu(r)ti or Kurtie. the same did Urartians and Mannais.

Diarbakr is not in Kurdistan?
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

I dont think it is necessarily based on ethnic divisions of people of middle east. Kurdistan at middle ages meant the area ruled by a collection of semi-independent.
It meant the domination of Kurdish principalities such as Ardalan, Baban, Mukriyan, Badinan etc.

Any thoughts?

The one I sposted is created/published in 1721.

Another thing is that the borders of Kurdistan in mediaval tims as any other province of the region has been somehow changing. For instance sometimes non-Kurds ruled parts of Kurdish areas or sometimes Kurdistan included some non-Kurdish areas.

We must also remember:

Back in the days - people weren't 100% proportionate...

Look at the last map - the Middle East is not proportionatly displayed - how do you expect the "Kurdistan" label to be placed on the "correct" place?
