6,000 year old village in Sanandaj East Kurdistan

Archaelogists in Iran have discovered a village in the historical area of Sarcham in Sanandaj province of Iranian Kurdistan, dating back to 4000 BC, said the chief archaeologist of the study on April 9.

On 9th of April, Ameer Saed, the head of the archaeological researches in Hawraman area in Sanandaj province, stated that they have unearthed a village dating back 6000 years in Hawraman area.

Archaeological remnants of items made of clay and rock were found in the village, and the archaeological site is of high significance for archaeologists and historians which it can provide them with information regarding the culture and the lifestyle of the people in that era, he said.

Archaeologists have previously managed to find ancient sites in the areas near Sirwan river in Hawraman, belonging to the ages of rock, stone and copper as well as pre Islamic period, he added.
