Are kurds Iranian? No.
I shall explain why, (Note: this is a reply to an Iranian kurd)
Now let us talk about the term "Iranian" a word that came into use around 1935 with political motives, what does Iranian mean? Aryan? now why would someone recognise kurds as Aryans only when clearly we are not? I mean surely after the persians deafeted the medes, some of the median tribes mixed with the persians, however some of the median tribes notably the "magis" did not, and hated the persians, now I shall add that the magis are the ancesters of kurds, and then this tribe happend to mix with many other local tribes and ethnic groups that most likely disliked the persians and all of these tribes (possibly 60) mixed together and the term kurd was born from the land karda and the Corduene, kurmanji which happened to be the most common language among these tribes became the most spoken language and kurmanji which is an INDO-EUROPEAN(ARYAN) language is similar to Persian NOW the new term IRANIAN or shall I say ARYAN was invented by the persians to justify their occupation of the surrounding peoples land, this does NOT make kurds Iranians because the term Iranian is politically engineered to fool people like you into believing so! I hope that you can re-think your errors and come to a more appropriate view.
Which brings me to my last question, are you or your family shia? Im aware of the kermanshani kurds, but lets not generalize as yes majority do not want to separate due to the fact that they are shia, I mean thats the problem in the middle east, look at Iraq the Iraqi arabs are at each others throat because one is shia and one is sunni, even though they are both arabs.. I do hope that this changed your mind.
