a story from funder of RBK for referendum

Dear Kurdistanis

It was 13 years ago that I started RBK website. It was when Iraq got rid of Saddam but soon we realized the world medias are calling Kurdsitan "Northern Iraq" and they avoid using the word Kurdistan, as an order from Turkey to Candoleeza Rice.

I built a google bomb with a domain name called northerniraq.info so anyone who searched for northern iraq. would get a message.

"Northern Iraq is invalid . please update your brain it is Southern Kurdistan."

To make this the first result on the gooogle, we needed the bloggers to link to us. nobody wanted to link to a Kurdish site. we did it by unifying all the kurdish blogs. and we did it ! we made it to the top result in google. anyone who searched for Northern Iraq, got educated with links about history of Kurds.

2004 was before social media existed ! and people used to express themsleves in forums. but Kurdish people had no forum of their own and their posts would get deleted in Pan Arab and Pan Turkish forums.

so I funded a forum called Roj Bash Kurdistan. a great place for dialogue between all the ethnics in middle east. anyone could express their opinion freely.

RBK got big and popular. we defeated those who were not willing to even say the word Kurdistan. during these 13 years, RBK was attacked by many of enemies of Kurdistan but we recovered every single time. but the most painful of them was when our enemies were using Kurds to attack RBK. those Kurds who put their self interest above national interest.

During history the only way enemies could win a fight against Kurds has been by using Kurds against Kurds. RBK was attacked by a few Kurds who at that time were putting their self interest above national interest, and interestingly like this NRT guy (Shaswar Abdulwahid) were hosted in London also !

Those attacks were the most painful ones that damaged our global reach. otherwise RBK would have been the most influential website in middle east. despite all the risk and blackmailing, I never gave up RBK, and I have continuously funded it because I never give up Kurdistan for anything.

Today I see the same pattern in Southern Kurdistan, a few Kurds who are putting their self-interest above national interest. and they get quoted and praised by the enemies of Kurdistan. They rather destroy Kurdistan government if they are not the one who owns it !

I urge you. get out and shout Biji Kurdistan. Go and Vote Yes. millions of Kurds been sacrificed for this day to finally come true. if we unite nobody can defeat us. please don't let Kurds attack Kurds. this is the time for unity. forget any party flag. lets have Kurdistan flag above anything.

Till one Kurd is on earth, Kurdistan dream will be alive.
Biji Kurdistan
Yes for Independence

I hope that all that fuss about the referendum, all that foreigners' interference in Kurdish freedom will incite Kurds to vote YES.

If such things happen from abroad about a French poll, be sure that French would vote exactly what UN does not want (the same for UK and the Brexit).

I hope that each Kurd will answer to the world : "C'est mon droit et je vous emmerde."

Has anyone forgotten the Anfal genocide that killed COUNTLESS THOUSANDS of innocent Kurds

Or the Halabja chemical attack that was part of that horrific genocide of innocent Kurds

Or the way Kurds were driven out of Kirkuk and their homes and businesses given to Arabs by the Iraqi government

All this and many other historical facts are included in the posts on this site

Kurdistan has to become independent and secure it's borders in order to:

Secure a homeland for future generations of Kurdish children

Secure it's borders from any future invasion attempts from neighbouring countries

Receive international support to put a stop to the ongoing bombing from Turkey

Receive international support with it's fight against ISIS

Receive help with the many thousands of refugees escaping ISIS (approximately 2 million)

Enter into more beneficial trade agreements

Improve the standard of living throughout Kurdistan

Provide the Independent Kurdish Country that MANY THOUSANDS of Kurds have died fighting for

Political parties are not important - the only important thing is KURDISTAN :ymhug:

ha ha the President opposes to his own minister. French individualism is not a legend

France does not oppose Kurdistan referendum: Macron

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The President of France on Tuesday said his country would not stand against the Kurdistan Region’s democratic process ahead of a planned independence referendum.

In a press conference after delivering a speech at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, French President Emmanuel Macron said France would not oppose the Region's democratic process.

The French President also highlighted his country’s historical relationship with officials in the Kurdistan Region.

“The Kurds and France have a long-standing relationship,” he said. “France has lots of respect for people who defend their values and their history.”

The French President said he did not think Kurds’ secession from Iraq was a good idea but did not openly oppose the Sep. 25 vote, adding the referendum could lead to full independence and the creation of a Kurdish state.

“If this referendum is held, I hope it leads to the proper representation of Kurds in government and within the framework of the [Iraqi] Constitution,” Macron stated.

He added that if the Kurdish leadership decided to proceed with a referendum, it should lead to a different outcome other than independence from Iraq.

Macron suggested Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani seek greater representation in the Iraqi government if a referendum was held.

“[President Barzani] should transform the referendum into one that would allow Kurds to ask for respect and representation in the government and constitution of Iraq for all minorities,” he explained.

He pointed to the need for stability in Iraq and the Middle East, specifically political and territorial stability.

“France wishes a government and balance be put in place that respects all minorities and particularly the Kurds,” he concluded.

7 dead in Turkish airstrikes in northern Kurdistan Region

Image

DUHOK, Kurdistan Region – Turkish jets bombed inside the Kurdistan Region borders Tuesday night, killing 7 people in a village near Shiladze, near Amedi.

Mala Ahmed Sitaye, a local preacher, told Rudaw Tuesday night that three people from Shiladze were killed and a friend of theirs was missing.

Wednesday, the number of those killed rose to seven, Rudaw’s correspondent reported. The bodies of the deceased are in Shiladze.

Turkey frequently carries out airstrikes on alleged PKK locations in the Kurdistan Region's mountains where the PKK has its headquarters.

Memories of Anfal stir referendum ralliers in Garmiyan

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A rally for the independence referendum was held in Kalar city in the Garmiyan area that saw severe suffering under the Anfal genocidal campaign of the former Baathist regime.

“I want Kurds to continue to succeed to become an independent government,” said a Kurdish man holding a large picture depicting the Kurdistan map and Peshmerga. “The Kurdish nation endured plights. The Kurdish nation suffered grievances. We saw a lot of displacement in this area.”

Image

Another Kurdish man who endured the Anfal campaign and said his house was destroyed by the Baathist regime asked, “What else could happen? Did not we suffer Anfal, chemical bombing? What else could happen? 182,000 were killed

Image

“What Kurds suffered, no one has ever faced,” he said.

For the sake of the blood of the Peshmerga “We all say ‘Yes,’” said another Kurd.

“September 25 will mark a day the likes of which we have not seen even during the days of our ancestors. It is the day when we will determine the final historical fate of our nation that our ancestors fought for with their old Brno rifles.”

“God willing, September 25 is the day of success and success,” he said, proudly.

He said Kurds have suffered all kinds of persecution at the hands of oppressors throughout history.

As the world ponders alternatives and calls on the Kurdistan Region to call off the historical vote, another Kurdish man urged unanimity in order for Kurds to prevail and “work for the referendum and the independence of Kurdistan.”

Officials from some political parties attended the rally, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

A KDP official said it a large rally had been planned in the city but "due to a technical problem" it was not held.

The President of the Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani was expected to address the ralliers in the area, but his attendance was canceled.

The genocidal Anfal campaign was carried out by Saddam Hussein against the Kurds in the last stages of the Iraq-Iran war in 1988. The Garmiyan area, including Kalar, was heavily targeted in the campaign.

The campaign took its name from Surat al-Anfal in the Quran which was used as a code name by the former Iraqi government for a series of systematic attacks against its Kurdish population, conducted between 1986 and 1989 and culminating in 1988.

Major rallies are being held on a daily basis across the Kurdistan Region.

The biggest rally will be held in Erbil on Friday, the final day of the official referendum campaign. The vote will be held on Monday.
