The announcement states, "On Saturday, 20/1/2024, at 12:00 pm, we, as the Kurdish diaspora, will take part in widespread demonstrations across Europe in front of Iranian embassies. According to Iranian officials, the IRGC targeted a Mossad base in Erbil despite lacking sufficient evidence for such allegations, causing civilian casualties and material damages.
The atrocity has triggered collective outrage domestically and internationally, condemning Iran's reckless attacks on civilians. Following the assault, foreign countries condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with Kurdistan.
Domestically, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani and Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani canceled a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Iraq.
Kurds within Kurdistan and in the diaspora are participating in mass demonstrations against these brutal crimes, which targeted the economic powerhouse of the capital and resulted in civilian casualties under false justifications.
The Kurdish Diaspora Confederation attempts to launch more organized protests across European cities, aiming to draw more international attention to the actions of the Iranian regime.
