Nawroz University showcases
- scientific skills of students
Around 30 scientific projects were showcased by students at the event. Engineering students from the university explained how their soilless farming system operate.
"Our focus is more on indoor agricultural systems. Here we have created artificial lighting to measure heat and cold, as well as an irrigation system. We have a fan here, the motor works when the plant needs water, it fills the water, and when the sensor sees that it's full, the water returns, meaning water isn't wasted,” Maryam Mohammed, who took part in the design of the automated hydroponic system, told Rudaw.
- Bushra Omar, another student at Nawroz University, has her own project and says: "As Nawroz University students, we strongly believe that we can build ourselves. This is the most important point. I have my own greenhouse and manage it alongside my studies. I have other plans too. I work a lot but still manage my time."
According to data obtained by Rudaw, Nawroz University has 2,900 students across 7 colleges and 24 different departments. Some of these departments were opened for the first time this year and participated in this festival.
