Egypt Bombings Again.

PostAuthor: Fortuna » Wed Apr 26, 2006 8:55 pm

It seems in the last 2 years Egypt is getting bombed often and its always aimed at tourists resorts, such as Cairo, Sharm, Taba, and now dahab.

I was in Cairo the week before the bombing, sitting in a coffee shop, having a nice time with friends, then the following week when i was home safe it got bombed, so i thank God i am alive. Its hard for me living in UK to understand why people bomb others, because it doesnt happen often here thank God, the last terrorist attack was the 7/7. How do you feel about these so called suicide bombers? I hope i havnt offended anyone by asking this, but i really dont understand it and never will.

I think those people are a disgrace to every Egyptian... Those who blow themselves up at tourist resorts - they only wanna target the economy...

They don't care how many lives go... They just wanna scare...

So the right thing would be to GO on vacation to Egypt - just to show; We are not the be bullied around with...

It is an utter shame that such scum even exists on earth... Suicide is strictly condemned by the holy Quran...

May God have mercy on their souls...

I know in the Quran that suicide is forbidden (i have an english version of it), but sadly it is things like this that give Islam a bad name, and that is also another sad part of it all

I agree piling, it has nothing at all to do with religion, but sadly western people do not beleive it, though not all, its just a generalization.

Hi all,

I know I know it;s been a long time...

anyways, as I was going through the different threads, I was amazed that nothing really changed in the lands of northerniraq forum:

=>>> When in doubt blame it on the pkk or apo...or when you can't write anything just add Apoci somewhere...it's like the lelele lololo in kurdish music...

Anyways, that isn;t why I am writting here...

I actually was surprised with what Fortuna said :

Its hard for me living in UK to understand why people bomb others, because it doesnt happen often here thank God, the last terrorist attack was the 7/7. How do you feel about these so called suicide bombers? I hope i havnt offended anyone by asking this, but i really dont understand it and never will.

I would have actually assumed that since you were in the UK, you wouldn't be surprised by this...remember the IRA struggle to liberate northern ireland?

I mean they were bombing shit all other the place on a pretty regular basis...no?

Hi Dislad.

Yes the IRA were at one time always bombing Ireland but that was in the past. I live in england so im away from Ireland, its just a neighbour of england as you probably know, and as i said thankfully england doesnt get bombed often. I posted because i wanted to get views on the bombers because most of them are muslims claiming that God has told them to do it..........Pretty stupid id say, but thats my opinion, and the egyptian bombings have affected me more because i spent alot of time there and the week before i was sitting in the street that got bombed.

Hi Fortuna,

I understand...and I wasn't trying to belittle your exprience and feelings specially since you were there the week prior to the bombings.
I just feel a little bit defensive each time I hear :
"oh those bombing in the "fill in the blank", at least us in europe or the west we're not like them..."

And I understand that wasn't what you were saying either...but I just want to remind "westerners" or "northerners" that europe did not see more than 30-50 years of peace in a row...that is all out war...while keeping a low level war for almost its entire existence:

This past century alone:
WWI, WWII, Bosnia, Serbia, Corse, Northern Ireland, Basque Country, Portugal/Spain dictatorships and add all the colonial wars to that and the 20th century looked like a big fucking war zone...

No to asnwer you question, about suicide bombers...
Ok, in Islam suicide is forbidden..that's the first no no for suicide bombers
There are rules of war:
You can't burn trees, property, kill civilians etc...

But obviously, these people are not doing that for islam per say, islam is used as a tool, similar to nationalism which has been used and is still used to justify killing of civilians.

On top of that, for a lot of people, the term "innocent civilians" fell in a grey area:
Let me explain...

During colonial time, were the white farm and land owners a part of the colonial and occupying forces? Or were they simply civiilans trying to make a living.
In Palestine, are the religious fanatic settlers part of the israeli occupation tool?
In Iraqi-occupied-Kurdistan, were the arabs (shia and sunni) a part of Saddam's arabization, or were they poor people trying to make a living where they got some help from their governement...
In Egypt are the tourist supporting a corupt governement...

This is why it is also very easy for a lot of people to justify kiling civilians...if you see them as your enemie, you remove any humanity from them...and the become "fair game"....

You get defensive? Beleive me so do i, and this is my point exactly. And especially when western people blame it on religion, they dont care where the suicide bomber is from, but as soon as they say he was a muslim, they say ah yes what a bad religion it is.

My friends think i am totally crazy because beleive me it makes my blood boil when they see Islam as a bad religion and it causes many rows between us, but we each have an opinion :D
You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
