A man has been left with life-changing injuries after he was repeatedly shot at a block of flats in Dagenham

Armed police were deployed to the scene at Hawkwell House in Gosfield Road after the attack on Thursday afternoon.

Scotland Yard said the victim was taken to an east London hospital with “life changing injuries.”

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police are currently on scene at Hawkwell House, Gosfield Road, Dagenham dealing with an incident whereby a male has sustained multiple gun shot wounds.

“He remains in an east London hospital with life changing injuries. Police including armed police remain at the scene.”

Balham Hill stabbing: Teenager, 18, fighting for life after being knifed in south-west London

A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in south-west London.

The victim, 18, was found suffering a knife wound after being attacked in Balham Hill, Wandsworth, on Wednesday evening.

He was flown to hospital by the London Air Ambulance service where he remained in a critical condition.

Police were scrambled to the scene just after 6pm.

The road was cordoned off while officers investigated the stabbing.

A Met Police spokesman said: “The injured male was taken by HEMS to a west London hospital.”

“Officers from South West Command Unit investigate.”

No arrests have been made.

Stand-off between armed police
and 'gunman' ends after 10 hours

A stand-off between armed police and a gunman in south-east London has finally ended after more than 10 hours

Pagehurst Road in Addiscombe, Croydon, was placed on lockdown after a man claimed to have a gun and allegedly threatened to kill people.

The surrounding area was cordoned off from 9.30am on Tuesday until 7pm.

The man was said to be in a car that has was surrounded by emergency services, with video footage showing a police helicopter in the skies above the scene.

A local resident told the Standard: "I saw police cordoning off the area around 10am and keeping vehicles and pedestrians back, making reasonable exceptions for immediate residents such as myself.

"Eight to 10 armed officers and 10-20 police vehicles surrounded the red Audi that was parked on Pagehurst Road.

"Rifles were trained on the vehicle throughout the day, but for the most part there was a lot of standing around and watching whilst - I'm told by passersby - police negotiated with the suspect via mobile (how his battery lasted so long I'll never know).

"At around 6.30 the suspect exited the vehicle and stood next to it for a couple minutes, then slowly walked down Pagehurst Road toward what I assume were other police officers, beyond my line of sight.

"Police, including a less-than-patient police dog, searched his vehicle and secured the area.

"At 6.43 he was escorted into an ambulance and remained in there for a few minutes before being put into a police wagon then driven off."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed the situation had been resolved and the man had been arrested.

They said: "Police were called at 08:32hrs on Tuesday, 19 March, by a man who made threats to kill.

"Officers attended Pagehurst Road near the junction with Addiscombe Road in Addiscombe.

"A man was found in a car at the location and when approached he intimated he had a firearm.

"Armed officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, the London Fire Brigade was also informed.

"Officers have now resolved the situation.

"The man was arrested at approximately 18:30hrs on suspicion of making threats to kill. He has been taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

"Cordons remain in place.

"No schools in the area were affected by this incident.

"There is no evidence of any terrorism motive.

"At this early stage, there appears to be a domestic element to this incident."

Man spied on teen in shop before
asking for sex and exposing himself

A stranger watched a teenager through a shop window before following her to ask for sex and then going on to expose himself, police said

The 19-year-old girl was forced to throw water over the man before fleeing for safety during the “very frightening incident,” Met Police said.

She was in a convenience store in Southwark when she spotted the man spying on her as she shopped.

When she left the store on Camberwell Road at around 8.45pm on January 28, he approached her and tried to start a conversation before following her and asking where she lived.

Police said the woman was alarmed by this and the man then told her he wanted to have sex with her. She responded by telling him to get away from her.

She walked along Burgess Park and onto Addington Square when she became aware that she was being followed by the man, according to police.

At the junction with Rust Square, which was well lit, police said she made the decision to bravely confront and film him so that he would leave her alone. She then noticed he had exposed himself.

The woman threw water over the man before fleeing and calling the police.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man, aged between 25 and 30, 5ft 6in tall and of medium build. He spoke with a “local accent.”

He was bald on the top of his head and the remaining hair was very short. He was wearing a grey hooded top under a dark coloured jacket, black tracksuit trousers and black trainers.

Detective Constable Nicky Dixon, said: "This was a very frightening incident, on a young woman who was picked out by a man who then followed, harassed and then exposed himself to her.

“She acted bravely and confronted him, and thankfully he left.

“We need to find and arrest this man and I am appealing to the public to assist.”

Police investigating Fulham stabbing
issue description of man seen near scene

Police investigating a fatal stabbing in Fulham have issued a description of a man who was in the area at the time of the attack

Nathaniel Armstrong, 29, was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Just days earlier, his cousin, Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex Beresford, had delivered a powerful speech on air about the state of knife crime in the UK.

Mr Beresford paid tribute to Mr Armstrong as a "bright young man" who was "yet one more example of a needless life lost to knife crime.”

Police are now trying to track down a “light-skinned black male” who left the scene on Gowan Avenue shortly after the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Glen Lloyd, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "I am still eager to hear from anyone who was in the area of Gowan Avenue shortly after midnight on Saturday.

“Any information you have could be vital in establishing what happened that night.

"My team is particularly keen to trace a male who was seen near the scene at the time of the incident.

“He was described as a light-skinned black male, approximately 6ft tall with facial hair on his cheeks and a moustache.

“He was wearing a brown bomber style jacket and following the stabbing he left the scene in the direction of Fulham Road.

"Did you see him? Do you know who he is? Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is urged to contact police."

Enquiries including forensic analysis and the review of local CCTV footage at the time of the incident continue.

There have been no arrests.

Around 20 years ago there was an influx of Yardies from Jamaica - these Yardies were often drug dealers who left Jamaica to expand into the US but were deported back to Jamaica then came here - they come from a violent culture and brought that violence with them

Sadly, in recent years Jamaicans have filtered into some of the small islands with their gun violence - local inhabitants fear and hate Jamaicans

The gun violence that was greatly enlarged by a certain, nameless, country that interfered in Jamaican politics because it wanted to prevent people voting for Manly

Saying this, I actually believe Trinidad to be by far the most violent and dangerous island due to all the kidnapping and jungle knife attacks - they chop people into little pieces and many tourists are kidnapped never to be seen again

The way their descendants behave is not the same

They do not have the same family values

Small island people tend to be family units even those who come to the UK

Jamaicans and their descendants tend to not keep in contact with their baby mothers

In the UK their are a great many mixed race children who know little or nothing about the Jamaican side of their parentage

I even know why there are so many Hindus on Trinidad but I am not here to write a book, just to explain that ALL the West Indian islands are different in every way
In the UK their behaviour and the behaviour of their descendants is different

Most gangs are divided ethnically - a great deal more so than here in the UK

That is because the different ethnic groups tend to live in and control different areas in America

This is starting to happen in the UK with some estates becoming black and no-go to white people

There are also Muslim areas where non-Muslims and Muslims of different beliefs fear to tread

Anyone wishing to study please feel free to move to Bradford and watch as it is in the process of becoming even more ethnically divided

However, in America gangs are so much a part of the culture that several generations will join the same gang

Another problem is that black violence is so bad in parts of America, the police are terrified to stop and question anyone black in case they get shot

Innocent black people as well as police are being killed

If the rise in drug/gang crime is not stopped, it will become worse

In Croydon, South London, as in many other areas, we now have white flight - for safety reasons white people are moving out of Thornton Heath, Norwood and the north parts of Croydon

There is increased violence; burglaries; even during the day gang fights in shopping centres; shoplifting; bag snatching; white people getting harassed, abused and insulted

Back in the day - West Croydon was full of live music venues and the only gangs were bikers - sadly all gone now

Isleworth stabbing: Teenage boy
knifed to death in in west London fight

Shocked witnesses have described the moment a teenager was stabbed to death outside a block of flats in west London.

Officers were called to reports of a fight in Isleworth at about 10.35pm on Friday.

The boy, believed to be 17, was found outside a block of flats in Union Lane.

Paramedics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A couple who called the police described finding the victim on the ground after the fight.

They looked out of their flat after hearing shouting and said the teenager was being attacked by two people.

The husband and wife, neither of whom wished to be named, said one of the attackers had his face covered.

The husband, a 33-year-old engineer, said: "It was one guy who was massive with, like, a mask on his face and another small guy. They were kicking him (the victim), but it was dark so it was hard to see exactly what was happening."

By the time the couple went downstairs to the scene they said the two attackers had left.

His wife, 35, added: "The boy was bleeding from the mouth. The blood was everywhere."

Halima Abubaker, a 22-year-old hairdresser, said she saw two males "running for their lives" around the time of the incident.

"I just heard loads of people, then there was seven police cars and two vans," she said.

Police say the victim was in nearby Syon Park with a group of other people before the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard from the Metropolitan Police said: "A vehicle has pulled up and a group of males have got out. They have chased the victim and attacked him in Union Lane."

He appealed for anyone who was in the park or surrounding area at about 10.30pm and who has information that could help to get in contact with the force.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, described the incident as an "appalling, senseless act of violence".

He added on Twitter: "The family and friends of this young man are in my thoughts at this awful time."

There have been no arrests, police said.

The victim's next of kin have been informed but he has not yet been formally identified.

Family calls for action on
London's knife 'disease' as killer jailed

A gangs co-ordinator whose brother was hunted and stabbed to death in north London today called for communities to "take responsibility" for the capital's knife crime "disease" after one of his killers was jailed for life

Mark Barton made the plea after Jack Stevens, 19, was sentenced to life with a minimum 23 years after he was found guilty of murdering new father Nashon Esbrand in Islington in August 2017.

Stevens was the ringleader of a gang which was captured on CCTV chasing Mr Esbrand, 27, on bicycles. Mr Esbrand was eventually cornered just yards from his parents' house when another teen stabbed him to death with a machete-style blade.

Stevens fled the country after the murder but was extradited from Spain last summer and brought to justice at the Old Bailey. Three of his accomplices have already been jailed over the murder.

Gangs co-ordinator Mr Barton told the Standard after the sentencing: "It’s pure relief. It took a year to find him and nearly a year to convict. It’s satisfying as he was the ringleader. He showed no remorse at all.

"There was a lot of family in court. This brought the sadness back again. But we will keep fighting for Nashon by doing something positive. We are going to do a ‘happy Nash day’ community event every August 25, the day of his death."

But Mr Barton added: "It’s still raw. I wish I was there to protect him.

"And there have been so many murders and stabbings since that day.

“These people have no appreciation for life, and no appreciation for themselves. It’s a disease in our communities that needs to be sorted. It’s not just on the police: communities need to get together and take responsibility.

On August 24, 2017, Mr Esbrand and his girlfriend were walking down Essex Road with their baby, Milla, who was born nine days before.

Minutes after they parted company, Mr Esbrand was spotted by Stevens and Dillon Zambon, then aged 18 and 19. They targeted him because Mr Esbrand had previously spoken to police about another incident.

Stevens and Zambon chased Mr Esbrand back up Essex Road and enlisted the help of three other youths: Jhon Berhane, then aged 17, a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named and another male who has not been indentified.

They cornered Mr Esbrand in Mitchison Road before the 15-year-old stabbed him in the legs, causing fatal blood loss. One of the wounds was 17.5cm in depth and he died the following day. It happened in a doorway a few doors down from his parents’ house.

In June last year, Zambon and Berhane were both sentenced to life, with the 15-year-old given 12 years. All three were convicted of murder.

Three to four weeks after the murder, Stevens fled the UK in the boot of a car travelling to Belgium, from which he travelled to Spain. He was extradited to the UK in August last year after the Met obtained a European Arrest Warrant.

A jury found Stevens guilty of murder earlier this month and he was sentenced on Friday.

Judge Anuja Dhir said Stevens showed a "chilling lack of remorse" and told him: "Without you this senseless murder would not have taken place."

Man rushed to hospital after VICIOUS
attack outside a London McDonald’s

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed outside a McDonald's in London

The person was repeatedly knifed near a McDonalds on Barkingside High Street. Police were called to the area just before 8:30pm last night. As of yet, the victim’s condition is unknown.

Barkingside Police tweeted: “Officers are dealing with an incident in High St Barkingside after being called at 8.21pm this evening.

“A man has been stabbed and taken to hospital.

“We await an update on his condition.”

This latest attack follows after a teenager was killed by a gang of men in Hounslow on Friday night.

The 17-year-old victim, who has not been named by police was discovered with multiple knife wounds in Isleworth.

The victim was found at 10:35pm and died shortly after paramedics arrived on the scene.

No arrests have been made following the attack on Friday night.

Following both attacks, the number of murder investigation’s in London this year is now just shy of 30.

A DOUBLE stabbing took place in Westminster last night and a third man is suffering a head injury.

The Metropolitan Police were called at 10:30pm to Harrow Road, W2. Two of the victims were 18 years old. Police are awaiting confirmation of the initial assessment that none of the men are in a life-threatening condition.

Murder inquiry as man stabbed to death in Pinner

A man has been stabbed to death in north-west London

He died at the scene in Marsh Road, Pinner, at about 06:00 GMT, and a murder investigation is under way.

The Metropolitan Police is trying to identify him and his next of kin. No-one has been arrested.

Policing minister and Pinner MP Nick Hurd said he was "deeply saddened" by the news. A large part of Marsh Road remains cordoned off and forensics officers are at the scene.

He tweeted that police had increased their presence in the area and were carrying out house-to-house inquires.

A forensics tent has been set up outside a Costa Coffee on the road and forensics officers were seen coming out of an off-licence on the main road.

There have been 29 deaths classed as "homicides" in London this year.

Mary MacNamara, who has lived in the area for four years, said she was shocked by the murder.

"It's happening every day. Nobody does anything about it," she said.

in night of bloodshed across London

A man was stabbed to death as six people were knifed in a night of bloodshed across London

Another man is fighting for his life while the youngest victim, stabbed in Brixton, south London, was just 13 years old.

Police were called to an address in Marsh Road in Pinner, a leafy suburb in north-west London, at about 6am on Sunday.

A man who had been stabbed was pronounced dead at the scene.

A large section of the road was cordoned off on Sunday morning while a forensics tent was erected outside Costa Coffee and an off-licence.

One resident described Pinner as "lovely" but said she was not shocked by the news as such incidents are "happening in all areas".

Mary MacNamara, who has lived in the area for four years, said: "We all see what's going on generally and it (such crime) seems to be happening in all areas.

"It's happening every day. Nobody does anything about it."

Local MP Nick Hurd said police were making house-to-house enquiries.

He tweeted: "Deeply saddened to hear of a fatal stabbing earlier this morning. Area cordoned off; police conducting house to house enquiries and reassurance patrols."

A second man, aged in his 40s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was found with stab wounds in Dalston Lane, at the junction with Lower Clapton Road, in north-east London at about 3.15am.

Meanwhile a 13-year-old boy was knifed in St Matthew’s Road, Brixton shortly before midnight.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital and his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

Two males, believed to be aged in their late teens or early 20s, were found stabbed in Harrow Road, Westminster, while another of around the same age was found with head injuries.

Emergency services were called at 10.30pm. Their injuries are also not thought to be life threatening, police said.

And shortly before 8.30pm, a man in his 20s was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was stabbed in High Street in Barkingside, north-east London.

Scotland Yard said no arrests have been made in connection with any of the incidents.
