The person who stabbed 4 people in the back remains at large:

'It was a bloodbath': Police hunt knifeman who stabbed four 'lone and vulnerable' people from behind in random attacks during north London rampage as public are warned to be 'vigilant'

The first stabbing just after 7pm yesterday evening in Edmonton left a 45-year-old woman fighting for her life

Hours later, a man was stabbed in Park Avenue and was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

A 23-year-old man was then stabbed at Silver Street, Edmonton, at around 3.55am on Sunday morning

A man was then knifed in the back in another 'bloodbath attack' this morning and was taken to hospital
Londoners have said they feel 'scared' and will avoid walking outside after four people were stabbed from behind in a 'random' 14-hour rampage, with the hooded knifeman still on the loose.

Police have warned the public to be on their guard in the wake of the four stabbings in Edmonton, north London, which left a 45-year-old woman fighting for her life.

The knifeman described as a tall, skinny, black man, wearing a hood and dark clothing, approached all of the people from behind in what police said were random attacks not linked to terrorism.

Detectives have made two arrests but promised 'enhanced and dedicated police activity around the clock' to keep the area safe.

Natasha Cameron, 45, lives on Aberdeen Road and was walking home from work at a nearby casino after 10pm when she was informed about the stabbing near her house.

She said: 'I was like 'oh my God this is the road I live on.' I'm scared now because I always walk here from work home. Now I'm definitely taking the bus'.

Another local resident, Nichola Dennigan, said: 'It is scary at the moment all these stabbings in Edmonton where I live.'

The first stabbing left a 45-year-old woman in 'critical condition' after she was knifed in the back on Aberdeen Road in Britain's capital, just after 7pm yesterday evening.

Just hours later, a man was stabbed shortly after midnight in Park Avenue and was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

A 23-year-old man was then stabbed at Silver Street, Edmonton, before being found at around 3.55am at Seven Sisters tube station and remains in a stable condition.

Following this, an unidentified man was knifed in the back in another 'bloodbath attack' this morning just a quarter of a mile from where the woman was stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries following the attack on Brettenham Road at around 9:43am.

Later on Sunday morning a man was arrested on Fore Street while a second suspect, a man in his 40s, was taken into custody at a home in Edmonton this evening. Both are in custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

It comes after a 22-year-old man was shot this morning in Walthamstow, London, at around 2.50am on Penrhyn Avenue.

He was rushed to an east London hospital but his condition is not thought to be life threatening and no arrests have been made.

Police are treating the four stabbings as potentially linked but say the victims appear to have been selected at random due to them being 'alone and vulnerable'.

Detectives are appealing for information and urging the public to stay vigilant following the series of stabbings in the Edmonton area.

A 50-year-old hospital worker and PhD graduate who dialled 999 following the Brettenham Road attack said he was in his kitchen at 9.30am when he heard somebody shouting 'oh my God'.

The resident said: 'The sound was moving around the front of the estate from the back and I called 999. When I came out, his attacker was gone and I heard the man speaking on the phone saying 'why didn't you come yet?'

'I saw when police cut his clothes off his back. There was blood all around him, it was like a bloodbath.

'It was horrifying. My son was inside, he is only 15 and he has been left traumatised. He said in that moment 'dad please can we leave this place'.

'I came out onto the main road and he was on the floor face down and then within a minute, the police arrived. They were excellent. The ambulance came four or five minutes later.'

A local cafe owner, 50, who checked his CCTV to see one of the victims limping down Park Avenue said: 'It has all gone crazy. Last night there was a guy walking down here with a limp followed by a couple of others.'

A Turkish woman, who lives on the Edmonton estate where the last of the four victims was stabbed, was faced with a crime scene when she stepped out onto her balcony this morning.

She said: 'My balcony looks down onto the spot where the man was lying on the ground. I heard screaming outside and stood on the balcony - there were people running around.

'There were so many sirens and police everywhere. Then I saw a body on the floor surrounded by police.'

Dozens of officers, riot vans and a police helicopter rushed to the scene in Edmonton, north London, at 9.35am this morning.

One resident said the estate is known for having gangs of between 15 and 20 men 'hanging around in the car park day and night.'

A 36-year-old shop worker, was working when the attack took place, said: 'I was serving a customer and I heard screaming. Then when I went out and stood in the shop doorway there were a lot of people crowding around the man on the floor.

'I heard he ran through the flats. Then there was another attack in the street next door but I didn't see the man with the knife.'

Student nurse Nawel Yusef, said it was 'heartbreaking' to find the high street covered in police tape when she arrived to do her shopping this morning.

The 26-year-old, from Bow in east London, said her brother Zakaria Sharif Ali was stabbed to death in November in nearby Shoreditch.

She said: 'It was heartbreaking to see the police cordons and the blood on the street this morning.

'It is ridiculous and what happened here is all linked. I heard the attack on Park Avenue last night was the same guy who stabbed the man this morning.

'Back in the day, people fought with fists not knives. These people are taking lives and using knives like it doesn't matter.

'You carry a knife and either you are going to use it or somebody is going to use it on you so there is no winner.'

Cengiz Topal was woken by the cries coming from outside his Edmonton flat in north London and rushed outside.

He said: 'I was asleep and I just heard somebody shouting 'help, help' and I saw him on the floor. He must've walked through the middle of the estate to the main road where he collapsed.

'I went outside and I could tell he had been stabbed. I was trying to help him but there were other people there and the police arrived almost immediately. He was a young man, a poor young man. It's so terrible.

'I just stood there watching the police cut off his clothes while he was lying there still with his eyes closed. I don't even know if he is alive.

'I always see big groups of kids smoking drugs and causing problems here - they turn up in groups of 30 or 40 several times per month. I'm an old man but I saw to them 'careful kids' or 'be good young man.'

'Sometimes I come out to find my tyres have been slashed and they are flat. There are problems every weekend, Bulgarians, black men and teenage boys and girls.'

A neighbouring resident said he heard shouts and screams coming from the estate an hour-and-a-half before police arrived.

He said: 'I was lying in bed at 8am and I heard shouting coming from outside. I didn't know what was going on and then later on I heard someone shouting "help".

'I think there must have been an argument or a bit of a fight before the man got stabbed. I looked out of my balcony and saw the guy lying on the street and police cars everywhere.'

Dervish Husseyin, 60, was at his friend's house on Aberdeen Road when the stabbing took place and said: 'I [saw] the woman lying down, face down', adding: 'She said they had beaten her up'.

Mr Husseyin said the woman had 'blood on her back' but did not seem to realise she had been stabbed.

'She said she only went out for a walk on her own,' he said. He added that the woman who was stabbed lives locally and English is not her first language.

The rampage of stabbings follows the announcement that Home Secretary Sajid Javid is set to launch a 'Stop and Search blitz' to put a stop to Britain's knife crime.

It will let police in seven regions carry out Stop and Search checks without needing to prove 'reasonable grounds'.

DCI Stuart Smillie from North Area Command said: 'The four victims are all from different backgrounds and appear to have been selected at random due to them being alone and vulnerable. There is nothing to suggest this incident is terror related.

'We are working on the hypothesis that the single male suspect is acting alone and mental health issues may be a factor.

5th Edmonton stabbing leaves man
fighting for life as cops search for knife-man

A fifth stabbing in Edmonton has left a man fighting for life as cops continue to hunt a serial slasher over four other gruesome knife attacks in the area

The horror unfolded at around 5am in Fairfield Road - less than a mile from where the four other victims were stabbed in random attacks over the weekend.

The man, aged in his 30s, was said to be walking with a pal when he was slashed. He stumbled to nearby Aberdeen Road where he was rushed to a major trauma centre.

There have been no arrests and the suspect is described as a tall, skinny black man, wearing a hoody - matching the description of the other culprit.

Scotland Yard said today they are not yet "formally linking" the attack with the four others that took place on Saturday and Sunday but admitted the similarities would alarm people.

Terrified locals are now scared to walk alone at night in Edmonton after the spate of brutal stabbings.

Schools have also banned kids from leaving during their break time as a safety measure.

Mike Kalongi, 28, who lives near the scene of the stabbing, said: "It's a bit scary. I usually go to the gym at night, but over the last few days I decided not to.

"I'm going shopping. I usually have my headphones on but I want to stay aware and try not to be a victim.

"It's scary. It's really scary."

CHILLING WARNING

Police yesterday issued a chilling warning to those living in the area asking them to remain vigilant when walking alone.

A section 60 order giving officers stop and search powers was also issued yesterday in Edmonton until 1.50am this morning.

Detective Superintendent Luke Marks, of the North Area Command Unit, said: “I am aware that events from the weekend have caused a huge amount of worry and concern among the community, and that this incident will cause further alarm.

“While at this stage the incident has not yet been formally linked, the location and manner of this attack will be of concern to the public.

"Our advice continues that that public to remain vigilant, and to contact police regarding anyone acting suspiciously.

"You will see additional uniformed patrols in the Edmonton area; if you have any concerns, please speak with my officers immediately.”

STRING OF ATTACKS

The four victims knifed in a 14-hour period at the weekend were all "vulnerable" when they were ambushed from behind.

Cops believe a lone attacker was behind the bloodshed - the latest in a series of brutal stabbings amid Britain's ongoing knife crime crisis.

The knife-man first struck at 7pm on Saturday night when he stabbed a 45 year old woman in the back. She is currently fighting for her life.

The second victim, a 52 year old man, was attacked just after midnight and is in a non-life threatening condition in hospital.

Just before 4am on Sunday, a 23 year old man was knifed in Edmonton and found three miles away at Seven Sisters Tube station.

Five stabbings in four days

7.02pm GMT Saturday: A 45-year-old woman was stabbed in the back in Aberdeen Road, Edmonton, after being attacked by the man and remains in a critical condition in an East London hospital

12.15am Sunday: A man was stabbed in Park Avenue - a 10-minute walk away from the first incident - and is currently in a non-life threatening condition

3.55am BST Sunday: A 23-year-old man was stabbed in Silver Street and found three miles away outside Seven Sisters Tube station. He is in a critical condition in hospital

9.43am Sunday: A man was stabbed in the back in Brettenham Road and has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries

5.05am today: A man, in his 30s, is knifed in Fairfield Road - suffering life-threatening injuries

He is no longer in a life threatening condition.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the spate of brutal attacks - in which victims were stabbed in the back - and remain in custody.

But police have warned that the knife-man may still be at large as a frantic manhunt continues.

'WHY ME?'

Horrified witnesses have told how they heard a chilling scream on Brettenham Road about 9.40am on Sunday when one victim was knifed.

Plumber Roger Blackman, 46, who was visiting his mum on Mother's Day, told the Sun Online: "I was getting tools from the back of my van and I heard a scream on an area of grass to the right of my Mum’s house. That’s where he got stabbed.

"I saw somebody crouched down who then ran off back into the estate on Folkestone Road.

"As I walked to the area I heard another scream and then the victim came out holding his back.

"He was saying ‘why has this happened to me? Oh my god, help me’."

He said he at first thought the victim had been punched of hit as he stumbled across the road, screaming.

The plumber added: "I saw blood pouring out his back onto the ground."

BLOODSHED RAGES ON

Edmonton borders Tottenham and Ponders End with Spurs' former ground White Hart Lane less than a mile away.

It is at the centre of a huge £1.5billion redevelopment project - with up to 5,000 new homes and 3,000 new jobs being created - to add to the shops and cafes on the bustling high street.

The area is home to a number of a Grade II listed buildings - including Charles Lamb Institute, which is now used as a church, and the Edmonton Central Library.

Would-be robber pulls knife on terrified passengers

Police were scrambled to Lewisham station to reports of an attempted robbery and a man in possession of a blade on Tuesday night

A passenger on the train said they believed an altercation ensued after someone tried to snatch a woman’s bag.

He told the Standard a woman was “shouting about her bag” before a “big crowd” surrounded the area.

Police removed a “large knife” from the scene, the witness added.

The incident was on the Cannon Street to Crayford service, which departed at around 8.10am.

Trains were temporarily stopped to and from the station, with its platform 2 fully closed.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery and was being taken to custody.

Police said a Taser was used.

Another person who was at the station wrote on Twitter: “Apparently a women on the train accused a man of trying to steal her bag.

“He then pulled a knife on her.”

According to another witness a man “jumped on the fella’s back who had had the knife”. They described the man as a “hero”.

A woman on another train heading to Lewisham said her driver announced the service would not be stopping there due to a “knife fight”.

British Transport Police (BTP) said there had been no reports of any serious injuries and that the incident is not believed to be terror related.

A BTP spokeswoman said: Officers from British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police were called to Lewisham station after reports of an altercation involving an attempted robbery and a man in possession of a knife.

“Police officers were quickly on scene and detained a man. During the arrest of the male, a Taser device was drawn and deployed.

“The male was then arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in addition to attempted robbery and is being taken to custody.

Man in 40s hacked to death in a
machete attack in northwest London

Police and ambulance were called to reports of the stabbing on a Northolt Road, Harrow, and found a victim who had suffered 'stab or slash' wounds

The man, believed in his mid-40s, was pronounced dead at the scene 30 minutes later despite efforts by emergency responders.

Police have arrested a man who was seen running from the scene in possession of a machete knife on suspicion of murder.

The man was taken to a nearby north London police station where he remains in custody for questioning.

Police have cordoned off the crime scene at the corner of Northolt and Wargrave Road.

Air ambulance services also attended the scene but were not needed.

A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed the incident and said that Major Crime Command has been informed.

Harrow residents had been on high alert since the death of a local shopkeeper during a bungled robbery.

Pinner newsagent Ravi Katharkamar was stabbed in the chest on March 24 while opening his shop, and died 45 minutes later.

The London Ambulance Service said: 'We were called at 3.14pm today to reports of an incident on Northolt Road, South Harrow.

'We sent an ambulance crew, two single responders in cars and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

'Sadly, despite the efforts of medics, a person died at the scene.'

Local MP Gareth Thomas said: 'I am very concerned to hear reports of a recent fatal attack in South Harrow in my constituency.

'I am in contact with the Met Police and Harrow Council to understand who is responsible and why. My thoughts are with the victim and their family.'

One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and is in police custody for questioning

Councillor for Roxeth Peymana Assad said: 'I’m aware of incident that has taken place on Northolt Road, South Harrow highstreet.

'Hope the community can be reassured,we are talking to all,on steps ahead for the safety of our residents.'

Today's stabbing sparked the 33rd murder probe in London so far this year.

Community leaders share their sympathies with the victim's family and ask for police to find the person responsible

Calvin Bungisa, 22, was knifed to death on Monday at 8.30pm by a gang of masked thugs in Kentish Town.

Witnesses said the victim’s mother came 'screaming' from her home nearby after the attack and friends gathered at the scene to light candles and pay tribute.

On Friday, father-of-three Gavin Garraway, 40, was ambushed while driving near Clapham Common station.

Today's stabbing sparked the 33rd murder investigation in London so far this year. Pictured: Bungisa, who was stabbed to death in Kentish Town on Monday (left); and Gavin Garraway, who died in Clapham on Friday

Witnesses claim his attackers smashed his window using a pair of crutches before launching the vicious attack through the gap.

They were also caught on CCTV running off and laughing as they fled the scene, with horrified shoppers going to the victim’s aid.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the North-West Command Unit via 101 quoting reference 4680/3Apr.

The attack is the 33rd murder to strike the capital this year, and follows a weekend of violence in Edmonton where five people were attacked 'from behind' in separate incidents.

Remember for all the attacks publicised there are countless other none fatal attacks in this ongoing, mostly black on black, gang/drug war

Think of the THOUSANDS of innocent people who live in areas of black violence and live in fear

Also, think of how black on black violence has expanded in some parts of the US and remember that American gangsters use GUNS

This is the first picture of a man accused of stabbing five people in a knife rampage that left one victim paralysed when their spinal cord was severed.

Jason Kakaire, 29, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates's Court charged with five counts of attempted murder after the spate of attacks in Edmonton.

He was also charged with five counts of knife possession in relation to the offences that allegedly took place between March 30 and April 2.

The prosecutor said a man in his 30s suffered a severe back wound.

If such thing would happen in France I imagine the huge row anti-black, anti-muslims, anti-migrants, etc.

English people have composure.

Police arrest teenage boy on suspicion of murder

Another senseless slaughter in Bloodbath Britain: 'Warm-hearted' man, 20, is stabbed to death at house in Manchester as police arrest 17-year-old boy on suspicion of his murder

Tyrelle Burke was taken to hospital on Friday after being attacked in Manchester

Greater Manchester Police launched a murder investigation after the incident

Tributes have been posted online with one saying Tyrelle was 'warm-hearted'

Stabbings in the first quarter of the year have almost doubled since 2015

Reported blade attacks came in at 662, a rise of 95%, with 66 victims killed

A young man who died after being stabbed in Manchester has been named as Tyrelle Burke.

Please click to enlarge:

The 20-year-old was taken to hospital on Friday after police were called following reports of an attack.

They were called to an area in Wythenshawe on Friday morning at around 9am. Tyrelle, who was described by friends and family as the 'sweetest lad' was taken to hospital with stab wounds where he later died.

Police have now arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder.

Tributes came flooding in over social media for the 20-year-old who some described as 'being taken too soon'.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one woman, who attended school with Tyrelle said: 'He was known by a lot of people. He was the most warm-hearted person ever.

'I can speak for everyone when I say he might be gone, but he'll never be forgotten. It's so sad.'

Others posted that they couldn't believe the news. One social media user Chloe Nash said: 'Can't believe what I'm hearing. RIP, Tyrelle. Taken far too soon in one of the cruelest ways. Rest easy.'

The death of Tyrelle comes just one month after Yousef Ghaleb Makki was stabbed to death near Altrincham.

Forensic officers were pictured on Crossacres Road last night following the stabbing of Tyrelle Burke on Friday morning

Three people were also arrested in Bury on Monday after a teenager was stabbed outside a restaurant following a dispute.

The deaths follow what has been described as an epidemic across the country with reports suggesting that stabbings in the first quarter of the year have almost doubled since 2015.

Reported blade attacks came in at 662, a rise of 95%, with 66 victims killed, according to the Anti-Knife campaign group.

A private Instagram page was launched in memory of the teenager which urged people to 'drop the knives'.

The biography of the page stated: 'Memorial Page (Positive Vibes) lets fix our environment! Drop The Knife/Turn Them Into Chains'.

Friend Adam Bates said: 'I used to play football with him as kids and manhunt around the estate.

'It's taken a while to sink in. We didn't really speak much any more. He didn't deserve this. Rest easy, Tyrelle.'

Police were parked outside a property in Wythenshawe yesterday following the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said they had launched a murder investigation after a man was found collapsed at a property at 8.45am on Friday.

'A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He has since sadly died.

'A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.'

Residents on the street had reportedly heard men arguing and members of the public had seen a large police presence following the incident.

Speaking in regards to Tyrelle Burke's death, Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones of GMP's Major Incident Team said: 'Our thoughts are with the man's family at this unimaginably difficult time and we are committed to giving them the answers they deserve.

'We have arrested one person in connection with this murder and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information they might have.

'Were you in the vicinity of Crossacres Road at around 8.30am on Friday 5 April?

'Did you see anything suspicious or have any information that can assist us? If so, get in touch with us immediately.'

The force has urged anyone with any information to contact police on 0161 856 0039 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

40 knife offences each day in London
over two years, shock figures show

The shocking extent of London's knife crime problem was revealed today as figures showed that 40 knife offences a day were reported to police over a two-year period.

A person was knifed to death on average every four days in London in 2017 and 2018, figures revealed, following a Freedom of Information request by the Standard.

The figures reveal the total number of knife offences including those involving stabbings and deaths caused by a blade for the calendar years of 2017 and 2018. Met Police dealt with 29,232 knife offences in a two years.

On average this is about 40 offences a day in London.

The total number of homicides and stabbings fell across the two-year period however. In 2018, the number of knife attacks fell by over 500. In 2017, there was 4,784 stabbings and in 2018 there was 4,246. The number of homicides also fell by 12.

Official statistics for 2019 have not been made available just yet buy Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said the decrease is encouraging.

Although the number is still “too high”, Mr Khan praised London communities and the Met for their work in reducing crime.

A spokesman from the Ben Kinsella Trust, which tackles knife crime through education and campaigning, said the small reduction is not a victory yet.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers are working "day and night" to identify and pursue knife criminals.

The majority of the crimes detailed in the figures were committed in Southwark with 1,594 offences occuring in that London borough

The borough also had the highest number of knife-related homicides with 17 people being stabbed to death in two years.

Bexley was the only borough of 33 to not have any deaths resulting from a knife in the two years.

Mr Khan said: “Thanks to London’s communities and the hard work of the Met Police, who have been targeting offenders and removing dangerous weapons from our streets, we are seeing some knife crime offences starting to fall, but it still remains too high.

“We still desperately need the Government to reverse its damaging cuts to the police and preventative services.”

He added the level of knife crime “across the country” was still “unacceptably high”.

The Ben Kinsella Trust said: "It is encouraging to see that knife crime deaths and injuries fell slightly in 2018 compared to the previous year. However we need to put these figures into context. Knife crime remains at a level unseen for a over a decade.

"These small reductions are not a cause for celebration and they will provide little or no comfort for those who have lost loved one or being affected by this heinous crime.

"The few months of 2019 has shown that knife crime continues to blight our society and we must do all we can to take knives off the streets and educate young people about the dangers of carry a knife."

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said the force is due to release its official financial year-end figures soon.

She said: “While London saw increases in violence between 2017 and 2018, we are beginning to see a decrease in key areas.

“For example this year, between Jan 1 to April 1 the homicide rate was 32, a 30 per cent decrease compared to the same time frame in 2018, when it stood at 47. Official financial year-end figures will be released at a later date.

“Bearing down on violent crime and knife crime on the streets of London continues to be a top priority for the Met.

“We are working tirelessly – day and night – to identify and pursue offenders, help bring perpetrators to justice, take weapons off the street, support victims, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe.”

English people have composure.

English people are known for their reserve and their stiff upper lip

Mostly, the white indigenous population just move away from black areas

Croydon, South London, never fully recovered from the August 2011 riots, when gangs consisting almost entirely of black and mixed race youths, raided many shops and set fire to others

Over 90% of these savages (there is no other word for them) had criminal records and intentionally planned the riots to cover the looting - they had vans ready to remove stolen electrical goods

People were trapped in their homes for several days, many to terrified too go out even after the riots had ended

Some Kurdish friends of mine were trapped in a flat above a shop, they were convinced they were going to die

It was after this that white flight began in earnest :((
