is 'stabbed by inmates in Strangeways prison'
- Husnain Rashid was jailed for 25 years for trying to encourage terrorist attacks
He wanted his followers on Telegram to target Prince George at school
A prisoner used a toothbrush with an embedded razor blade to slash him
An investigation has been launched to determine how Rashid was attacked
The attacker used an improvised weapon fashioned from a toothbrush with an embedded razor blade to cut the 32-year-old convicted terrorist.
Witnesses said Rashid suffered a huge gash which started at his right ear.
A prison source told The Star: 'There was blood all over his cell and the landing. Nobody likes him or what he did, like threatening that young royal lad and all the icecream stuff. We don’t tolerate that kind of thing in Strangeways.'
Rashid, who was jailed for at least 25 years, was taken to hospital for treatment.
A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: 'A prisoner received hospital treatment for minor injuries following an incident at HMP Manchester on Wednesday, June 25. An investigation is taking place.'
Rashid, from Nelson, Lancashire, changed his plea to guilty during his trial at Woolwich Crown Court.
He used a Telegram chat group - which he thought was secure - to incite members of the group to target the heir to the throne at his school, Thomas's in Battersea.
He also posted suggestions of which British football stadiums terrorists could strike, following the deadly attack outside Besiktas’s ground in Turkey.
Prosecutors said Rashid was encouraging terrorism by posting a photograph of the prince at the school super-imposed with silhouettes of two masked jihad fighters
