US demands UK allow
Jihadist to return here
Washington has long demanded that the UK take back all Jihadis and their families that are entitled to British passports. US President Donald Trump’s administration has long issued a call to remove any remnants of the terrorist organisation in the country in order to clear Syria of any potential threat
The move to repatriate their families was supported by Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab.
The Foreign Secretary also has the backing of the intelligent services and other security chiefs who insist that the UK must keep an eye on former ISIS warriors in the UK according to The Sun.
However, recently Cabinet was split over the issues of bringing back former ISIS supporters with Home Secretary, Priti Patel opposed to the idea.
A senior Government source said on the matter: “A lot of these people are still very dangerous, and pose a national security risk to the United Kingdom.
“What would we do with them if they all came back, and where would we put them? How much would all that cost? It would be very unpopular.
“We cannot trust our de-radicalisation programme, which has had patchy results at best in the past.”
Against the move to repatriate the ISIS fighters, Ms Patel would instead set up a special system of tribunals and courts to handle the returning Jihadis.
According to figures there are at least 900 British citizens who have fled to join the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
Supporting his administration, US Defence Secretary Mark Esper warned that the situation in the Middle East is “untenable”.
In his first official visit to the UK earlier this month, Mr Esper also stated that Britain must deal with the issue and that the matter is something that “we need to resolve”.
He added: “It’s an untenable situation, right, how long can this last? Our view has been that they should be repatriated and dealt with appropriately.
“So that’s the message. Otherwise it’s a risk to the region.

“How long can they be guarded in these camps by others?
“You’re talking about several thousand fighters in total but there’s a little bit over 2,000 foreign fighters, many of which come from Europe.”
Under the demand for the repatriation of former ISIS supporters, Shamima Begum would also, therefore return home to the UK.
Begum recently had her UK citizenship stripped which was only possible due to her also holding a Canadian passport.
In a recent interview, Begum begged to be allowed to return to the UK after admitting that was brainwashed about the “truths of my religion”.
The former ISIS bride also revealed that her mental health was in a terrible state after losing three children during her time in an internment camp.
