Trump seeks to end war
    in Ukraine by 20 April
A US delegation, headed by US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, is making its way to Saudi Arabia for meetings with Russian officials

The Trump administration seeks to end the war in Ukraine and achieve a ceasefire by 20 April, Bloomberg reported, citing informed sources.

A US delegation is heading to Saudi Arabia on Sunday for talks with Russian officials, Steve Witkoff, Trump's envoy to the Middle East stated, expressing optimism regarding progress in negotiations.

Speaking to Fox News, Witkoff revealed his visit to the Kingdom, alongside National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, saying "hopefully we'll make some really good progress with regard to Russia, Ukraine."

Witkoff also stated that he disagreed with concerns from some US allies about Ukraine being excluded from the negotiations, despite the absence of Kiev’s representatives in Saudi Arabia.

When asked if the US anticipates Ukraine having to surrender "a significant portion of its land," Witkoff emphasized that the priority is first to establish "trust building" with Moscow
Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, dismissed Saturday claims that Ukraine would take part in an upcoming meeting between Russia and the United States in Saudi Arabia.

"There is nothing on the negotiating table that would be worth discussing," Podolyak said on Ukrainian television, emphasizing that "Russia is not ready for negotiations."

On the same day, Politico reported, citing a Republican lawmaker and two US officials familiar with the matter, that representatives from all three countries were set to meet in the coming days
However, the news website later updated its report, noting that a Ukrainian official had confirmed the announcement came as a surprise to Kiev and that there were no plans to send a Ukrainian delegation.

Russia, US to work on improving ties
    and ending Ukraine war
Ukrainian and European officials are reportedly feeling sidelined as Donald Trump pushes through with Russia to end the war in Ukraine

Russia and the US agreed to launch efforts toward ending the war in Ukraine and improving diplomatic and economic ties.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the Associated Press that the talks marked the beginning of dialogue, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the discussions "very useful" and emphasized, "We not only listened but also heard each other."
Rubio outlined three main goals: restoring staffing at their embassies in Washington and Moscow, forming a high-level team to promote Ukraine peace negotiations, and exploring tighter contacts and economic collaboration.

Meanwhile, Ukraine and Europe are concerned about being sidelined as Trump seeks direct negotiations with Russia to settle the war.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that his country would reject any conclusion of the discussions because Kiev did not participate, and he postponed his own trip to the kingdom, which was set for Wednesday, in order to not give "legitimacy" to the meeting between US and Russian officials, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Speaking earlier on Tuesday in Turkiye, Zelensky said he had postponed his visit to the kingdom, which was originally planned for Wednesday, until March 10, saying he did not want "any coincidences".

Marco Rubio stated that ending the war in Ukraine could lead to "incredible opportunities" for geopolitical and economic partnerships with Russia.

Discussions aimed at preparing for a summit between Trump and Putin revealed no set date, though Russia's Foreign Minister Lavrov noted that both sides agreed on three goals and would begin "regular consultations" on Ukraine
On his part, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, who was also present at the meeting, described it as "positive, upbeat, and constructive."

Kiev's absence from Tuesday's discussions has irritated many Ukrainians, and France convened an emergency meeting of European Union members and the United Kingdom on Monday to discuss the issue.

Rubio said Tuesday that settling the crisis will need compromises from all parties, including Europe, which has imposed sanctions on Russia. However, he maintained that Washington "is not going to predetermine" the concessions.

Last week, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Ukraine's participation in NATO was unachievable and that Kiev should forsake dreams of regaining all of its lands from Russia
Russia also called it "impossible" to discuss the topic of exchanging its territory.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that he spoke with Trump and Zelensky over the phone following Monday's European conference and wrote on X that Europe desires "lasting peace in Ukraine."

"To achieve this, Russia must end its aggression, and this must be accompanied by strong and credible security guarantees for the Ukrainians," according to him. He pledged to "work on this together with all Europeans, Americans, and Ukrainians."

Trump calls Zelensky a modestly successful
    comedian and a dictator
US President Donald Trump described Wednesday his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky as a "modestly successful comedian" and a "dictator without elections," warning that Ukraine risks losing everything unless he moves swiftly toward a peace agreement with Russia

Zelensky refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden like a fiddle. A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left, Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform.

He asserted that his administration was successfully negotiating an end to the war with Russia, something he claimed only he and his team could achieve.

Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and 'TRUMP,' will never be able to settle
Trump concluded, "I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues….."

Trump's remarks came just hours after Zelensky pushed back against his claim that Ukraine was responsible for the ongoing war with Russia, accusing the US President of being caught in a Russian "disinformation" bubble.

During a meeting in Kiev on Wednesday with Trump’s Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg, Zelensky expressed hope that Trump’s team would gain "more truth" about Ukraine after the US President's assertion that Ukraine "should never have started" the conflict with Russia.

The Ukrainian president also rejected Trump’s claim that his approval rating stood at just 4%, calling it Russian "disinformation" and asserting that any effort to replace him would not succeed.

"We have evidence that these figures are being discussed between America and Russia. That is, President Trump ... unfortunately lives in this disinformation space," Zelensky said in an interview for Ukrainian television.

Less than a month into his presidency, Trump has already reshaped US policy on Ukraine and Russia. He has ended Washington’s efforts to isolate Russia over the war in Ukraine, initiating a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and facilitating high-level talks between senior American and Russian officials in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Trump has stated that he may meet Putin later this month. The Kremlin, however, noted that such a meeting could require more time to arrange.

Meanwhile, Russia’s sovereign wealth fund has indicated that several US companies could resume operations in Russia as early as the second quarter of the year.

In a related context, Putin indicated Wednesday that the objective of the recent talks in Riyadh was to rebuild trust between Russia and the United States
"The purpose and agenda of our talks in Riyadh was to restore Russian-US relations... The most important thing here in resolving all very pressing issues, including the Ukrainian settlement, is that without increasing the level of trust between Russia and the United States, it is simply impossible to resolve many issues, including the Ukrainian crisis," he told reporters.

The Russian leader reiterated that Moscow has never refused to engage in negotiations concerning the Ukraine conflict.

He expressed a "positive" assessment of the recent negotiations between Russian and US delegations in Riyadh, adding that according to the Russian representatives who attended the meeting, members of the American delegation had shown openness to cooperation.

US assumes future talks will include both Russia and Ukraine

Putin revealed that during his phone conversation with Trump, the latter conveyed that Washington expects future negotiations to involve both Russia and Ukraine. "No one excludes Ukraine from this process," he told reporters.

He also stated that the US President has begun receiving more objective information.

"When Trump started receiving information — objective information — he changed his position. This information has changed his approach," Putin said.

He added that Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of Europe or the United States and refrains from exploiting tensions between the US and its allies
“As far as Euro-Atlantic relations are concerned, we do not interfere here. We do not speculate on all the issues that arise between the United States and its allies,” the Russian leader said.

According to Putin, all European leaders had directly interfered in the US presidential election and even insulted one of the candidates.

Putin says to call Saudi Crown Prince in coming days

The Russian president announced that he plans to speak with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in the near future.

Putin expressed his gratitude to bin Salman for facilitating the Russia-US talks held in Riyadh on Tuesday.

However, he described Ukrainian officials’ hysteria about their absence from the Riyadh negotiations as "inappropriate".

He also revealed that Russia and the United States have agreed to restore the normal functioning of their diplomatic missions following discussions in Riyadh.

“The first thing I would like to say is that we have agreed to resume the work of diplomatic missions in normal mode," Putin told reporters.

He warned that continued diplomatic expulsions between Washington and Moscow would be counterproductive.

According to Putin, there is no need for intermediaries in negotiations between Russia and the United States, saying, "Someone wants to be a mediator between Russia and the US, but probably these are probably excessive requirements."

Putin: Russia ready for negotiations on Ukraine

Additionally, the Russian leader asserted that his country Russia remains open to negotiations to resolve the Ukraine conflict. "We are ready, I have already said this 100 times ... We are ready to return to the negotiating table," Putin told reporters.

He added that Russia has never refused to engage with European or Ukrainian counterparts, but noted that "they themselves have stopped or banned contacts."

Europe has no reason to react negatively to the Russia-US meeting, as Washington continues to engage its European allies in discussions on Ukraine, Putin pointed out.

He also expressed surprise at Trump’s measured approach toward European allies, whom he accused of behaving in a "boorish" manner.

"In general, to be honest, I am surprised at the restraint of the newly elected President of the United States, Trump, in relation to his [European] allies, who behaved in a similar, frankly, boorish manner," Putin remarked.

The Economist says
Trump wants to get rid of Zelensky

A report by The Economist highlights former US President Donald Trump's apparent desire to sideline Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as Kiev faces growing isolation amid US-Russia talks

US President Donald Trump is looking to "get rid of" Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky amid growing tensions between the two leaders, The Economist has reported. This comes as Trump signals a shift in US policy on Ukraine, particularly after recent US-Russian talks in Riyadh that excluded Kiev.

Trump’s decision to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his apparent willingness to "rehabilitate the Kremlin" have caused shockwaves within Ukraine’s political circles, The Economist said noting: "By now, few are truly surprised."

A senior Ukrainian lawmaker from Zelensky’s party admitted, "Our mental state was not good the day we heard the news, but we were expecting it."

Opposition members in Ukraine’s parliament describe a sense of "foreboding" as they prepare for the possibility of having to vote on a humiliating ceasefire deal.

The exclusion of Ukrainian representatives from key negotiations, coupled with the growing perception that Washington is turning away from Kiev, has deepened fears among Ukrainian officials.

According to The Economist, many Ukrainian elites believe that Trump’s rhetoric echoes a potential Russian trap—one that involves calling for a ceasefire without security guarantees and pushing for immediate elections that could fracture Ukraine’s unity.

Trump wants to 'get rid of Zelensky'

A former diplomat quoted by the magazine stated that Trump "appears to want to get rid of Zelensky," adding, "This is not about elections, it’s about getting rid of Zelensky."

Many Ukrainians are losing faith in their leader; a recent poll revealed that while Zelensky remains the country’s most popular politician, he would lose a future election by 30% to 65% to his former top general, Valery Zaluzhny. Public trust in Zelensky has also fallen to 52%, a sharp drop from the 90% approval he had at the war’s outset.

Despite these challenges, there is still no formal deal in place. However, many developments align with Ukraine’s worst-case scenario. Trump has multiple levers he could use to pressure Ukraine into accepting a deal.

As The Economist highlights, he "can—and very likely will—cut or stop military aid." He could also unilaterally lift sanctions on Russia or withdraw critical support such as Starlink, which is vital for Ukraine’s battlefield communications.

If implemented, the worst-case scenario for Ukraine would involve "a ceasefire without effective security guarantees; elections that result in political paralysis, a weak presidency, a fractious parliament; then demobilization, mass emigration, and the beginning of internal disintegration," the magazine warns.

'Zelensky a dictator'

This comes after Trump described Wednesday his Ukrainian counterpart as a "modestly successful comedian" and a "dictator without elections," warning that Ukraine risks losing everything unless he moves swiftly toward a peace agreement with Russia.

"Zelensky refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden ‘like a fiddle.’ A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left," Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform.

He asserted that his administration was successfully negotiating an end to the war with Russia, something he claimed only he and his team could achieve.

Trump concluded, "I love Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues….."

Trump's remarks came just hours after Zelensky pushed back against his claim that Ukraine was responsible for the ongoing war with Russia, accusing the US President of being caught in a Russian "disinformation" bubble.

Reminder:

The Implementation of the Minsk Agreements

After the 2014 ILLEGAL COUP took place in Ukraine a referendum was held to ascertain the WISHES of the peoples of Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) collectively referred to as DONBASS

Donetsk and Lugansk agreed to remain part of Ukraine on the SPECIAL terms agreed in the Minsk Agreements granting them SPECIAL STATUS and AUTONOMOUS RIGHTS

In 2015 the MINSK AGREEMENT was signed by Representatives of UKRAINE, the DONBASS, the OSCE and RUSSIA along with GERMAN and FRENCH leaders demonstrating how they could UNITE efforts to avoid a crises

On 17 February 2015 the Minsk Agreement was approved by the UN SECURITY COUNCIL Resolution 2202 making it part of INTERNATIONAL LAW

Rather than complying with the Minsk Agreements the Ukrainian (Kiev) government has sort to destroy the DONBASS with constant bombings resulting in the DEATHS of THOUSANDS of INNOCENT people

US envoy seeks quick peace deal

US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, expressed optimism on Sunday about the possibility of swiftly finalizing a peace agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine. Speaking in an interview with CNN, Witkoff noted that recent discussions in Saudi Arabia were encouraging, suggesting that a resolution could be achieved soon

"Our conversations in Saudi Arabia, with the Secretary of State and with the National Security Advisor were, in my view, positive, constructive and clearly momentum building. So I would say that I'm optimistic and positive, just as the present president, is that we can get something done rather quickly," Witkoff stated.

The peace negotiations were held in Riyadh, involving US and Russian officials, but excluded Ukrainian representatives, leading to strong criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The head of State warned that Ukraine would not accept any peace deal imposed without its consent, stating that decisions about Ukraine's future "must involve Ukraine."

Zelensky noted that any agreement reached without Ukraine's participation would "lack credibility and sustainability." He accused Washington of undermining Ukraine's sovereignty by engaging in backchannel negotiations with Russia.

Three years of a cruel and destructive
    NATO proxy war in Ukraine
By Dmitri Kovalevich

Dmitri Kovalevich examines how the West sabotaged the Minsk 2 agreement, pushing Ukraine toward war, dictatorship, and political repression

The end of February marks three years since the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine and 11 years since the Euromaidan coup of February 2014. The coup was the main cause of the current military conflict.

The war in the now-former eastern territories of Ukraine could have been avoided had two successive presidencies in Kiev (Petro Poroshenko, 2014-2019 and Volodomyr Zelensky since 2019) complied with the Minsk 2 peace agreement of February 2015. Minsk 2 (text here), was agreed by Kiev and the pro-autonomy forces in the Donbass region on February 12, 2015. France, Germany, and Russia co-signed the agreement as guarantors. The agreement was unanimously endorsed by no less than the UN Security Council on February 17, 2015.

Minsk 2 envisioned the return of Lugansk and Donetsk (the two rebellious 'peoples republics' of the industrialized Donbass region) to the fold of the Ukrainian constitution, this time as semi-autonomous oblasts (provinces). Kiev also agreed to a neutral status for Ukraine. It could apply for membership in the European Union if it chose, but membership in the NATO military alliance was for Russia a non-starter.

EU membership increasingly became a goal of Western-oriented business interests in Ukraine during the decade of the 2000s. That decade followed 10 years of sharp economic decline following the dissolution in 1989-90 of Soviet Ukraine and of the Soviet Union (USSR, of which Soviet Ukraine was a key constituent).

Tragically for the people of post-Soviet Ukraine, the Western countries, particularly the leading powers of NATO, quietly and deceptively opposed Minsk 2. They worked quietly from the get-go to sabotage the agreement.

Deception of Ukrainians by the West

On February 12, 2025, the deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, Aleksey Shevtsov, spoke on the ninth anniversary of the signing of Minsk 2, explaining once again to those who would listen that Russia's special military operation in Ukraine would never have happened had the West honored the agreement. He stressed that the people of Ukraine today have every right to demand an accounting for the deceptions that took place in 2015 and after.

On the same day, the Ukrainian online publication Strana published a lengthy commentary in its Telegram messaging service headlined, 'Why did the Minsk agreement fail?' Strana wrote, "Russia says that Kiev deliberately refused to fulfill the conditions of the Minsk 2 agreement and instead proceeded to rearm its army and restart armed attacks against the people of Donbass.

The Russian government says it can no longer trust the government in Kiev and so there is no possibility of a 'Minsk 3'." ('Minsk 1' was a first attempt, in September 2014, by the pro-autonomy forces of Donbass to reach a peace agreement with the new administration in Kiev.)

Strana wrote further, "Russia did not launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2014 or 2015. Perhaps it wanted to, who knows, but it could not do so because it would have been hit with harsh economic sanctions similar to those levied against it by the Western powers beginning in February 2022. It would have faced economic sanctions worse than those initially levied against it following the Crimea referendum of March 2014. The Russian economy was in no shape to easily withstand such sanctions, in contrast to the situation in 2022.

"Additionally, although the Ukrainian army back then was much weaker compared to 2022, this was also the case for the Russian army."

In their recollections of the events of those years, leaders of today's Donetsk Peoples Republic (today a constituent of the Russian Federation) say that the main opponent of a major military response to Kiev's continued military provocations and sabotage of Minsk 2 was the Russian military. Russian military leaders said at the time that the Russian Federation did not have enough combat-ready troops to take on such a large and industrial country as Ukraine.

"From a purely military point of view, the rapid success of Russia in Crimea in the spring of 2014 was due to the fact that Russian troops were already present on the Crimean peninsula [by virtue of a 1997 agreement between Russia and Ukraine; see Wikipedia on the subject].

They needed no time to deploy, and they prevented armed attacks being threatened by the paramilitaries of the new administration in Kiev. At the time, there were no large military formations of the Russian Federation along the lengthy Russian-Ukrainian border. Donbass's self-defense forces only began to form in the late spring of 2014 and it was several years before they were integrated as auxiliaries of the Russian armed forces."

As Russian sources stated at the time, the initial military defense that arose in the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts of Ukraine against the paramilitaries of the 2014 coup bore the markings of a military adventure and were not at all coordinated with the political leadership of the Russian Federation. The self-defense forces hoped to convince or pressure Russia to join a war of defense for which Russia was not ready, not politically, economically nor militarily.

What the Western-incited war in Ukraine has wrought

In the lead-up to and since the 2014 coup, western and central Ukraine has been living the fate of a battering ram to be used by the Western imperialist powers to weaken Russia, regardless of the tragic human consequences and of the prospect of Ukraine being cast off once it is no longer needed for such a role. The results of this cruel and heinous policy are increasingly evident as graveyards continue to spread on Ukraine's territory with each passing day.

The Politnavigator media outlet explained (as reported on Telegram on February 1) the consequences of such policy for the mortals conscripted into war, many against their will. The report cites Anton Cherny, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He explains, "We are being lied to about the value of our soldiers' lives. I watched the speech of our commander-in-chief that every soldier is valuable to Ukraine and worth his weight in gold. That's what they tell the people, but it's not true."

Cherny says that 90% of the soldiers who die or succumb to injuries on the battlefields are simply buried there and then officially listed as missing. "Everyone there knows perfectly well what is happening." And the indignities do not end there. The families of those reported as 'missing' do not receive the financial compensation to which they are entitled
Cherny also explains that it is extremely difficult for surviving fighters to exit the grim fighting along the front lines. "It's hard to get out of there by yourself, it's unrealistic. How lucky it would be if there were fog, very big snow or some other bad weather." He explains that Ukrainian lines are under constant surveillance from drones flying overhead. As soon as evacuation vehicles approach from the Ukraine side, the drones threaten to strike them, making it very difficult to evacuate the injured or the dead from the various battlefields.

Politnavigator continues its report, " 'The army doesn't provide guidelines or instructions for soldiers to somehow make their tasks easier. Its words to this effect are just talk. Soldiers are told to go here or there and 'do' something, but as to what, where and why, you have to be some kind of superman to figure it out. It's unreal,' Cherny says indignantly."

Provoking the sleeping bear of Russia

Radical nationalist and neo-Nazi paramilitaries operating under the control of Kiev's police and special services waged nine years of military conflict and terrorist attacks against civilians in Donbass from 2014 to 2021. This was bound to provoke a reaction from the Russian Federation sooner rather than later, as any serious commentator knew and reported
Ukrainian commentators were writing more than three years ago that Kiev's deployments of paramilitaries in Donbass and its turning a blind eye to their crimes, backed by promises of weapons by belligerent Western governments, would inevitably provoke Russia into responding, as though provoking a bear with a stick. The weapons of Ukraine, many provided by the West, did indeed, predictably, awaken the bear, and angrily.

In early February 2025, the prime minister of neighboring Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, told journalists that back in 2022, his country's then-government was being encouraged by the West to open a 'second front' against Russia. The country was to be used just as Ukraine was being used. According to the Kobakhidze, Georgian officials of the day were told a fable by the Western powers to convince them to act. "They said Ukraine is winning the war; you should not miss this chance to strike against Russia."

Kobakhidze believes it will now take Ukraine 100 years to return to a state of development comparable where it was prior to the 2014. He asks, "Why was all this done? No one is offering a clear answer to this question. However, there is an answer: some global interests, evil interests, have sacrificed our friendly country Ukraine."
Full-fledged dictatorship

The eleven years that have elapsed since the Euromaidan coup of 2014 have been years of Ukraine sliding inexorably towards dictatorship, all the while accompanied by rosy phrases from EU leaders claiming that a 'triumph of democracy' was taking place. The ideology of Nazism from the World War II era has been officially rehabilitated, while opponents of this course have been targeted by armed, ultra-nationalists and neo-Nazis
All left-wing parties in Ukraine have been banned. Some of their members and leaders have been killed, while many more have been forced into exile. Protests against, and critics of, the 'pro-European' dictatorship in Kiev have been targeted for repression. The Western powers have turned a blind eye to the crimes being committed, while United Nations officials have occasionally issued toothless resolutions expressing 'concern' about the civil rights being violated.

In 2021, Zelensky banned more political parties critical of his government, and he closed all television channels deemed non-compliant with his policies. No court or other legal reviews of these decisions have taken place
With the outbreak of war in February 2022, Zelensky imposed martial law and then canceled national elections for the presidency and the legislature (Rada). These were to take place no later than April 2024, according to the Ukraine constitution. Zelensky has said that Ukraine cannot hold elections until it has fully regained control over its former territories. Since this would be impossible to achieve, his statements on the matter mean that for all intents and purposes, elections will not take place in the remaining territories held by Kiev. Period.

Alexander Dubinsky, a former associate of Zelensky jailed by his administration, writes that the war became for Zelensky an escape from the social explosion building up inside the country and appearing inevitable by the end of 2021. "I think this largely determined why Zelensky promoted military rhetoric in every possible way, and why in March 2022 he ceded to Western government pressures to draw back from a political settlement with the Russian Federation."

For Dubinsky, the end of the war would mean a loss of political power by Zelensky and his cohorts, and this, in turn, would expose them to direct conflict with all the enemies he has managed to make. He may be able to protect himself from the widows and mothers of the deceased, reasons Dubinsky, but not from the violent, 'serious men' who have proliferated under his government.

Detention camps using torture methods under Zelensky

Every day, more and more facts are emerging in Ukraine about the detention camps that Zelensky has created in order to sustain its power and continue the NATO proxy war.

In January, legislator Oleksandr Dubinskyy urged Ukrainians to report to U.S. authorities about the detention camps that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has organized, notably for the purpose of forcing accused conscription evaders to confess to accusations of state treason. According to him, the SBU detention camps are prototypes of what Ukraine as a whole has become under Zelensky.

Dubinskyy has been detained since November 2023 under accusations of financial crimes and treason. He has recently announced from detention his intention to run for president of Ukraine if and when a national election takes place.

Another former associate of Zelensky, legislator Artem Dmytruk, wrote on Telegram on January 30 that the entire special corps of the Lukyanivske pre-trial detention center in Kiev should be called a concentration camp and named 'Zelensky's Factory'. Legislators Oleksandr Dubinsky and Yevhen Shevchenko are among those imprisoned there. "90|% of detainees in this center face charges by the office of the expired president Zelensky."
Dmytruk fled to Britain in August 2024 shortly after he was the only deputy in the Rada to speak and vote against a new law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, of which he is a subdeacon.

The Ukrainian magazine Liberal published a lengthy report in February saying that individuals and political formations connected to the Zelensky administration are the only ones in Ukraine not talking about political repression prevailing today in the country.

The authors claim that extensive political repression was being prepared and carried out well before the start of the Russian military intervention in February 2022. According to the publication, thousands of SBU employees were sent to border regions on the eve of the Russian intervention to monitor troop morale and other measures of the military situation.

At the same time, Kiev began to address its shortages of police and prison personnel in Kiev and other regions by recruiting 'trained athletes' into the ranks of the SBU after completing three-month courses in western Ukraine. 'Trained athletes' is a euphemism in Ukraine for members of criminal gangs.

"Thousands of bone-crackers performing police functions inside the country spread out without the slightest remorse to beat testimony out of Ukrainians using the most brutal forms of violence and creating torture institutions such as the famous 'Sports Hall' on Volodymyrska Street [in the center of Kiev]," writes Liberal.

"People were lying on floors, deprived of the right to move and subjected to constant beatings and humiliation. The Ukrainian anthem and nationalist songs were played continuously from loudspeakers. The eyes of the prisoners would be taped shut with duct tape or tied with rags, and they were taken to the toilet only once a day. They were also fed very sparingly, once per day."
The authors note that political prisoners now account for about half of the prisoners in Ukraine. The main motives for many SBU officers, Liberal notes, have not been security concerns but the robbery of suspects. Detainees have been forced to surrender their personal wealth upon arrest and detention.

Two reports in English on prison conditions in Ukraine were published in 2024, one by a Danish government agency (110 pages) and one by an agency of the Council of Europe (46 pages). Both reports skirt incendiary accusations such as the one published by Liberal and the many ones appearing widely on social media.

On February 12, a German court for the first time approved the extradition of a conscientious objector to military service who had fled Ukraine. Ukraine prohibits men of military age (age 25 to 55, 60 for officers) from leaving the country. Many of the fugitives from Ukraine's compulsory conscription have chosen to flee to Germany, attracted by Germany's claimed liberal values.

This court decision is the first warning sign that the authorities of European Union countries may begin to conduct forced deportations of the Ukrainian men who have managed by hook or by crook to escape from their homeland's military conscription. It is reported that in 2024, there are some 200,000 Ukrainian men residing in Germany alone.

Trump warns Zelensky of US withdrawal

US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin would respect a potential ceasefire with Ukraine, explaining his belief that Putin respects him

US President Donald Trump delivered a stark message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during their meeting at the White House on Friday, asserting that Ukraine is "in big trouble" and "not winning" the ongoing conflict with Russia.

"Your country is in big trouble. I know you're not winning. You're not winning this," Trump told Zelensky, signaling his dissatisfaction with Ukraine's current strategic position.

Trump cautioned Zelensky against dictating terms to Washington, emphasizing that the US was seeking a resolution to the conflict. "We're trying to solve a problem. Don't tell us what we're going to feel, because you're in no position to dictate that. You're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel," Trump stated firmly
The US president also expressed his frustration over what he perceived as a lack of appreciation from Zelensky. "I've empowered you to be a tough guy, and I don't think he'd be a tough guy without the United States... you're not acting at all thankful. And that's not a nice thing," Trump remarked.

He warned Zelensky that if no agreement is reached, "you're either going to make a deal or we're out, and if we're out, you'll fight it out. I don't think it's going to be pretty, but you'll fight it out."

Trump's statements come shortly after he dismissed the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO, citing it as a key factor that "started this whole thing." During a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer earlier this week, Trump stated, "It's not gonna happen," effectively ending Ukraine's hopes of joining the Western military alliance
His comments followed Russia's demand for the withdrawal of NATO forces from Eastern Europe, made during the first round of US-Russia negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. Trump's stance aligns with his view that NATO expansion contributed to the conflict, reinforcing his opposition to Ukraine's membership.

Confidence in Putin

In separate remarks, Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin would respect a potential ceasefire with Ukraine, explaining his belief that Putin respects him. "They broke it with Biden, because Biden, they didn't respect him. They didn't respect Obama. They respect me," Trump said.

He referenced past controversies, including the "Russia witch hunt" that he claims was a "Democrat scam" initiated against him and Putin. "It came out of Hunter Biden's bathroom," Trump added, suggesting that allegations against Putin were politically motivated.

Calls for Ukraine to resume Russian gas transit

According to Robert Fico, the decision to cease transit is detrimental not only to Slovakia but to the entire European Union, as it contributes to rising gas prices and economic strain across the region

As the European Union prepares for an extraordinary summit on March 6, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has urged EU leaders to push Ukraine to restore the transit of Russian natural gas through its territory. Fico argues that the disruption, which began on January 1, 2025, has significantly impacted energy prices across Europe, particularly affecting Slovakia, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic.

The halt in gas transit followed the expiration of a five-year contract between Russia's Gazprom and Ukraine's Naftogaz. Ukraine chose not to renew the agreement, citing a desire to eliminate revenues that could potentially fund Russian military actions. Consequently, the flow of Russian gas to several EU countries has been completely stopped, leading to a surge in wholesale gas prices and raising concerns about energy security within the bloc.

In a video message shared on his social media, Fico stressed the need for a balanced relationship between the EU and Ukraine, criticizing what he sees as an unequal dynamic.

"Speaking about EU assistance to Ukraine, it cannot be a one-way street: Europe [gives] everything to Ukraine, but Ukraine gives nothing to Europe. This is especially ridiculous in light of the US-Ukraine negotiations about rare earth minerals. Therefore, on behalf of Slovakia, we strongly demand that Ukraine is directly called upon in the summit's resulting statement to restore gas transit through its territory to Western Europe," Fico said.

Fico further argued that the decision to cease transit is detrimental not only to Slovakia but to the entire European Union, as it contributes to rising gas prices and economic strain across the region.

"It seems that March 6 in Brussels will be fun, but until other views and arguments are taken seriously, the European Council may not adopt any resulting statements at all," he added.

The upcoming extraordinary European Union summit on March 6 is anticipated to be tense as leaders grapple with escalating challenges related to the Ukraine conflict, rising energy prices, and shifting geopolitical alliances. Since the start of the war, the bloc's energy security has been severely challenged, leading to a 40% increase in energy costs and significant economic strain across Europe.

Fico's remarks also come at a time of heightened tensions between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump. Earlier today, a meeting between the two leaders in Washington abruptly ended after a heated exchange.

Trump reportedly accused Zelensky of showing ingratitude for the extensive US military aid provided to Ukraine, stating, "You're gambling with World War III." The altercation has strained US-Ukraine relations and cast uncertainty over future American support for Kiev.

To Change Me, It Will Not Be Easy: Zelensky

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reaffirmed his determination to lead his country through the ongoing war with Russia, asserting that removing him from power would not be easy

His remarks came in response to speculation about his potential resignation following a tense and highly publicized meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to a report by Reuters, Zelensky met with European leaders in London on Sunday, just days after a contentious Oval Office discussion with Trump, where the former U.S. president accused him of being ungrateful for American military aid.

Despite the fallout from the meeting, Zelensky remained resolute, emphasizing Ukraine’s reliance on Western allies while maintaining that critical diplomatic discussions should remain behind closed doors.

A Fractured Diplomatic Front

Reuters reported that while speaking with reporters at a London airport, Zelensky acknowledged the challenges in his relationship with Washington but expressed hope that it could be salvaged.

“I think our relationship will continue,” he stated. However, he criticized the nature of the publicized meeting with Trump, saying, “The format of what happened, I don’t think it brought something positive or additional to us as partners.”

The Ukrainian dictator, who was visibly shaken after the meeting with Trump, was greeted with strong support in London.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer embraced him warmly upon arrival, signaling continued European backing for Kyiv. During Sunday’s summit, European leaders agreed to draft a Ukraine peace plan to present to Washington, in the hope of securing much-needed security guarantees that could deter further Russian aggression.

Despite the rift with Trump, Zelensky remained confident that U.S. assistance to Ukraine would not cease.

“The U.S. are leaders of the civilized world, and they will not help [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,” he insisted. He further warned that halting military aid would only benefit Moscow, reaffirming Kyiv’s position that Ukraine would never cede occupied territories to Russia.

According to a Reuters report, some Republican leaders in the U.S. have suggested that Zelensky should step down, but he dismissed such notions outright. “To change me, it will not be easy because it is not enough to simply hold elections. You would need to prevent me from participating in the elections, and it will be a bit more difficult,” he said, underscoring his firm grip on leadership amid growing political challenges.

Minerals Deal Still on the Table

A key issue that remained unresolved from Zelensky’s Washington visit was a much-anticipated minerals deal.

The agreement, which would have allowed the U.S. access to Ukraine’s rich deposits of lithium and rare earth minerals, was expected to be a potential incentive for continued American support.

As Reuters suggested, while the deal was not signed due to the abrupt end of his trip, Zelensky expressed optimism that it would still move forward. “We agreed upon signing it, and we were ready to sign it. And honestly, I believe the United States would be ready as well,” he remarked.

Trump, on the other hand, framed the deal as a way for Ukraine to repay the billions of dollars in military aid it has received from Washington. The issue remains a significant point of contention in the broader debate over continued U.S. support for Ukraine’s war effort.

Ukraine’s Stance on Sovereignty

While Zelensky sought to avoid further escalating tensions with the U.S., he took a firm stance on Ukraine’s sovereignty, unequivocally rejecting any notion of ceding occupied land to Russia.

“Everyone needs to understand that Ukraine will never recognize whatever is occupied by Russia as Russian territories,” he declared. He also stressed that Ukraine was counting on security guarantees that would prevent Russia from launching future invasions.

Despite the current diplomatic strains, Zelensky maintained that Ukraine’s path forward hinges on robust alliances with the West. He reiterated that Ukraine’s ultimate goal remains NATO membership, suggesting that achieving this objective would mark the completion of his mission as president.

As Kyiv navigates these turbulent waters, Zelensky’s defiant stance signals that he is far from willing to step aside. Whether his leadership will endure the mounting pressures from both Moscow and Washington remains to be seen, but for now, he stands firm: “To change me, it will not be easy.”

Pentagon to halt anti-Russia
    offensive cyberoperations
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered US Cyber Command to pause offensive cyber and information operations against Russia as President Donald Trump seeks to negotiate a resolution to the war in Ukraine

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has instructed the US Cyber Command to pause offensive cyber and information operations against Russia as President Donald Trump aims to end the war in Ukraine with terms that many perceive as favorable to Moscow, The Washington Post reported, citing both current and former US officials familiar with the decision.

The suspension is intended to last only as long as negotiations are ongoing, as per the report.

While pausing operations during high-level negotiations is not unusual, the move coincides with a significant shift in US foreign policy under Trump, as he appears more inclined to align with Putin, even at the expense of European allies, and to show a willingness to abandon previous policy positions regarding Ukraine. Experts have raised concerns, describing the pause as a concession to one of America's most active cyber adversaries.

James A. Lewis, a former diplomat and cyber-negotiator, said, as quoted by The Washington Post, “Russia continues to be among the top cyber threats to the United States.”

"Turning off cyber operations to avoid blowing up the talks may be a prudent tactical step. But if we take our foot off the gas pedal and they take advantage of it, we could put national security at risk,” he stressed.

The Pentagon declined to comment, but a defense official told WashPo, “There is no greater priority to Secretary Hegseth than the safety of the warfighter in all operations, to include the cyber domain.”

The big picture

The pause on offensive operations, reported first by The Record, is not considered an act of war, according to the officials. The actions being halted may include preventing malware from Russian networks or blocking Russian hackers from servers and disrupting anti-US propaganda.

Retired Lt. Gen. Charlie “Tuna” Moore, a former deputy commander of US Cyber Command, noted, “It’s fairly common to pause anything that could potentially derail the talks.”

Both the planning for potential operations against Russian networks and the cyberespionage against Russia conducted by the National Security Agency have not been discontinued, according to one former senior military official.

“The reason you don’t stop espionage is you want to know if they’re lying to you,” said a former official.

“The reason you don’t stop planning is if the talks don’t work out, you want to have options you can use against them,” the official stressed.

The danger of pausing operations is that it could compromise the US defense strategy of “persistent” engagement with major cyber adversaries like Russia. “You need to see if there are vulnerabilities you can exploit, whether you can get through their firewalls,” a former senior defense official explained. "If the pause is for days or weeks, it’s not so serious; if it’s for months or permanent — that’s serious.”

At the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), some experts are shifting their focus to adversaries other than Russia, The Washington Post reported, citing a private sector consultant familiar with the matter.

Hegseth's order comes amid an administration shift toward taking a stronger stance against what the US perceives as other cyber adversaries like China and Iran, as evidenced by statements from Michael Waltz, who emphasized the need for the US to take a more offensive approach on cyber operations. “How will we reestablish deterrence so that some of these actors — particularly state actors like China and Iran — stop trying so hard?” he said.

For over a decade, Russia has been identified as a top "cyber threat" to the United States, targeting critical infrastructure and deploying ransomware, as per the report. In 2017, the US intelligence community concluded that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to favor Trump, a conclusion that has been repeatedly disputed by the former president.

Now, under the new administration, Trump’s stance on Russia has shifted, and many of the initiatives set up to combat foreign interference, particularly from Russia, have been dismantled. Some critics, including Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, have condemned the shift, warning that backing away from confronting Russian cyber threats puts US national security at risk.

RFK Jr. Reveals the Real Reasons
    Behind the Ukraine Conflict
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. delves deep into the complexities surrounding the Ukraine war, offering insights on NATO’s expansion and Russia’s legitimate security concerns. With a personal perspective shaped by his son’s involvement, RFK Jr. highlights the disastrous consequences of escalating tensions and misguided policies

The Ukraine conflict, according to RFK Jr., is rooted in historical context, security concerns, and U.S. foreign policy errors. NATO’s eastward expansion, disregarding promises made in the 1990s, has heightened Russia’s fears, ultimately leading to the current crisis. RFK Jr. argues that these decisions have contributed to immense suffering, including a devastating loss of life and resources.

Additionally, RFK Jr. critiques the Afghan withdrawal, describing it as a preventable calamity driven by political pressure rather than strategic military planning. He emphasizes the significant loss of American service members and the equipment left behind, which is now being used against U.S. interests.

Throughout this discussion, RFK Jr. stresses the urgent need for diplomacy, peace, and a balanced approach to international relations to avoid future conflicts and nuclear escalation.

$21 bln Ukraine aid scrapped by EU

The aid suggestion came as Trump cuts US military aid from Ukraine, halting all weapon and equipment shipments, including those in transit in Poland

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas' suggestion to send Ukraine a massive aid package has been removed from the draft of the final statement of the upcoming EU summit on Ukraine, according to Euractiv on Tuesday.

The final draft of the statement does not mention Kallas's proposal of a 20 billion euro (21 billion dollars) aid package for Ukraine and instead calls state members to "review work done on the delivery of military support to Ukraine."
The statement also urges member states of the European Union to step up efforts "in particular on the delivery of air defense systems, ammunition and missiles, as well as on the provision of necessary training and equipment for Ukrainian brigades, as well as other needs that Ukraine may have."

The emergency EU summit comes after the growing rift between the United States and Ukraine following the heated exchange between US President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump cuts Ukraine military aid

United States President Donald Trump ordered a complete halt of all military aid to Ukraine on March 4, which will remain in effect until the United States administration deems that Ukrainian leaders "demonstrate a good-faith commitment to peace."
All US military equipment that has not reached Ukraine will be paused, including shipments of weapons and equipment that are in transit in Poland, which includes artillery, shells, small arms, anti-tank weapons, vehicles, armored vehicles, tanks, air defenses, advanced rocket artillery systems, and ballistic missile systems.

Trump issued his order to pause military aid to Kyiv following the heated exchange he had with Zelensky during the Ukrainian President's visit to the White House.

Trump and Zelensky get into heated row

US President Donald Trump and his vice-president JD Vance got into an argument with the Ukrainian President Zelensky during his visit to the Oval Office on February 28, after both sides started hurling accusations against each other.

Trump told Zelensky that Ukraine is "in big trouble" and that Kyiv "is not winning" its war against Russia, and he cautioned him about setting terms to the United States, saying, "We're trying to solve a problem. Don't tell us what we're going to feel because you're in no position to dictate that. You're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel."
The Ukrainian President and his delegation left the White House without signing a much-anticipated minerals deal, which Kyiv had agreed to after reaching an agreement with Washington after the latter abandoned its demand of a $500 billion share of revenue from extraction operations.

Russia rejects deployment of
    EU peacekeepers
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow sees "no room for compromise" regarding EU discussions on deploying troops in Ukraine

Russia has ruled out any possibility of compromise regarding the potential deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov dismissing the idea as openly hostile. Speaking on Thursday after a meeting with Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Amon Murwira, Lavrov warned that such a move would create new conditions on the battlefield that could make any future peace efforts more difficult.

"We see no room for compromise. This discussion is being conducted with an openly hostile purpose. They are not hiding what they need it for," Lavrov said
He stressed that any foreign military presence in Ukraine, regardless of its official purpose, would be seen as equivalent to NATO troops operating in the country. "We will consider the presence of these troops on Ukrainian territory in the same way as we considered NATO's potential presence in Ukraine," he stated.

Lavrov's comments come as French President Emmanuel Macron has taken a more assertive stance on European defense, recently calling Russia a "threat to France and Europe" in a televised address. Macron also announced plans to open discussions on expanding France's nuclear deterrence to European allies, reinforcing France's role as the EU's only nuclear power.

Meanwhile, the United States has weighed in on reports of potential troop deployments, emphasizing that any peacekeeping operation would require agreement from all parties involved. Lavrov noted that neither Macron nor UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer had mentioned such an agreement in their discussions
Back in January, The Telegraph reported that Macron and Starmer had begun talks on deploying a European peacekeeping force after a potential settlement in Ukraine. Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) estimated that such a deployment could involve around 100,000 troops, which Moscow sees as an attempt to strengthen Ukraine’s military rather than maintain peace.

The Kremlin has reiterated that any such move would only be possible with the consent of all sides, warning that without it, foreign troops in Ukraine would be viewed as direct military intervention.

A history lesson of how the
Ukraine - Russian war REALLY began

For years, he was hailed a hero. For some, he still is. Now he's exposed.

Here’s the history of the Ukraine & Volodomyr Zelenskyy you won't hear from the media.

Zelenskyy has never had the cards. He isn’t some brave leader calling the shots. He’s a desperate man, clinging to power in a collapsing regime—propped up by Western money, weapons & propaganda. And with Ukraine losing the PR war & real war, he's panicking.

Ukraine wasn't an independent actor in this war. The real power brokers are in Washington, Brussels & London, playing their geopolitical games.

This war was engineered to weaken Russia. To understand that, you need to understand the history that they’ll never tell you.

Ukraine and Russia have been bound together for over 1,000 years. Kiev, Ukraine’s capital, once the heart of Kievan Rus—the first great Slavic state—laid the foundations for Russia itself. Ukraine’s very name means "borderland"—which means the borderland of Russia.

For centuries, it was an integral part of the Russian Empire, not some “oppressed” nation. Even during the Soviet era, Ukraine wasn’t occupied—it was central to the USSR. Even Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev was Ukrainian
When the USSR collapsed, Ukraine became independent and Washington stepped in—not to help Ukraine, but to weaponise it against Russia.

The U.S. & NATO lied to Gorbachev, promising they wouldn’t expand “one inch eastward." Yet NATO moved into Poland and the Baltic States
Ukraine was the ultimate NATO prize.

The West poured billions into Ukraine—funding pro-NATO political groups, NGOs & media to manufacture an anti-Russian state.

In 2004, the CIA backed the "Orange Revolution," overturning an election that favoured a pro-Russian candidate.

The real coup came in 2014

Ukraine’s democratically elected president, Viktor Yanukovych, rejected an EU trade deal that would have destroyed Ukraine’s economy. That was unacceptable to Washington. So they removed him via a manufactured colour revolution.

The so-called "Maidan Revolution" wasn’t a grassroots movement. It was a CIA-backed coup—orchestrated by officials like Victoria Nuland. So brazen was Washington, that Nuland was even caught on a leaked call, handpicking Ukraine’s next leader before Yanukovych was gone
The violent mobs that took over Kiev weren’t peaceful protesters. They were led by neo-Nazi groups like Azov Battalion—groups that openly celebrate Nazi collaborators and wear SS insignia.

These same groups now receive Western weapons.

The post-coup regime then banned the Russian language—directly attacking millions of Russian-speaking Ukrainians in the east
That’s when Donbass & Crimea said enough. Crimea held a referendum—over 90% voted to return to Russia.

The Donbass also voted for independence

The people of the Donbass rejected Kiev—but Kiev wouldn’t let them go. Instead, they launched a brutal war on their own people, shelling civilians for eight years. Where was the Western outrage? Nowhere!

And what about Zelenskyy? Who is he? Is he an organic leader who came from nowhere or was he installed?
Covert Action reported that, in 2020, Zelenskyy secretly met with MI6 head Richard Moore. Why would a foreign president meet with the UK’s top spy instead of its PM?

Is Zelenskyy a UK asset? According to reports, he is personally protected by British, not Ukrainian security. When he visited the Vatican, he snubbed the Pope and met with a British bishop. Guess who else was there? Richard Moore from MI6 again! That's some coincidence.

Before politics, Zelenskyy was a comedian and actor—literally playing the president on a TV show. Then, with the help of Western PR teams, fiction became reality
His campaign was funded by oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, who owned Ukraine’s largest oil company and bank.

Once in power, Zelenskyy’s priority wasn’t fighting corruption—it was making sure BlackRock & Western banks took over Ukraine’s economy.

Meanwhile, he funnelled millions into offshore accounts, and is alleged to have acquired a $34m mansion in Miami as well as a £multi London apartment. Nothing would surprise me if he did.

By 2022, NATO had armed Ukraine to the teeth, and Kiev had amassed forces near Donbass.

Russia had a choice:
    Let Donbass face ethnic cleansing;
    Let NATO turn Ukraine into a military base;
Or, Intervene.

They intervened, just as other nations would in those circumstances.

The media screamed “unprovoked invasion.” But NATO expansion, the 2014 coup, eight years of war on Donbass—this war was provoked every step of the way.

Ukraine was set up as a pawn

With Ukraine losing, Zelenskyy is being abandoned. Donald Trump told him: "You don’t have the cards." And he’s right. This war was engineered. Ukraine needed Western intervention to win & that would mean that WW3 would/could be inevitable. It’s time the world wakes up to that reality.

The war in Ukraine was deliberately provoked by the West. Zelenskyy is just another puppet—his time is running out...
