To have Israeli-Palestinian peace, Israel must end its illegal and oppressive occupation of the West Bank.

Who cares about peace. The Israelis should never divide their land because it belongs to them. Palestinians are realy only Arabs, not Palestinians since it's Israel again now.

Even if the Israelis give the West bank to the Palestinians it will not lead to peace because the Palestinians will still want East Jerusalem and after that the whole of Israel.

In my oppinion, your poll is far from adequate in it's options...

But - that said, I think Israel should withdraw from the West Bank - and give the Palestinians full controll of it - under UN supervision...

I am of the oppinion that the Palestinians will, after given the West Bank, demand more and more and more - and eventually the whole of Israel... Which is unfair too - since Israelis back in 1948 had bought their land fair and square... And since then, they've expanded their territory because of Arab aggression - in e.g. the 6-day war and intifadas... It's only fair that when attacked by Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc. that Israel should defend itself from violence... And in turn - when it had won the war against these states - it had captured GREAT parts the Arab world - including the Suez Channel and Sinai... Now, as a gesture of kindness, it gave back Sinai and Suez to the Egyptians in true spirit of a peace-wanting nation...

We should keep in mind that Sinai is a holy place for Jews and that giving it up must have been a tough decision - but a wise one, which deserves the credit it's worth...

If Israel was the aggressor, as many people point out - then why would it give back valuable territories which it had aquired in war? According to any rule of war, you have the right to keep any land which you aquire through war...

The Palestinians aren't exactly angels - bombing hundreds of innocent people every year with their suicide bombers and not least the propaganda which they spread... Just search on Youtube - there you'll find the Palestinian version of Mickey Mouse being aired on national Palestinian TV - spreading the most vile and disgusting propaganda... Just watch this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AY0zE64thJ4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&hd=1

Which peace-wanting and peace-loving nation would spread THAT type of litter on NATIONAL TV?

You can't spread hate towards others and teach it to your children from the crib till the grave - and at the same time expect to be shown understanding and empathy...

Sorry mack... That's just not how the world works - and definetly not how human beings tick...

Okey what other options you suggest I add to it? Why you think Israel should withdraw from the West Bank..., if you think the Palestinians will demand more and more and it won't solve the problem? Do you think that it's majority of Palestinians that are spreading hateful propaganda?

No - just leave the poll... You won't have room for 30 more options... Which is what I had in mind... :P

But - I think leaving the West Bank in the hands of the Palestinians, and may I stress: under UN supervision - is the best thing to do because it won't leave any excuses for the extremists to continue their terrorism...

They have been discussing a two-state solution (Israel & Palestine being two independent countries) and a one-state solution (Israel & Palestine being two federal states in one country) - but they haven't thought much about what they're gonna do to bridge the gap between the West Bank and Gaza - which are SO different culturally and separated geographically, that it would make more sense to just forget about "Palestine" and just award the West Bank to Jordan and Gaza to Egypt...

Millions of Palestinians have permanently based themselves in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt - I don't see how they're gonna continue being "Palestinian" in 1-2 more generations... "Palestinian" is an artificial nationality which never existed - untill the Arab nationalists wanted to have some fun and bother Israel...

Of course they couldn't say "Arabs" they had to use the name of the region was it was known as by the British - "Palestine" - which actually was "Trans Jordan" under the British...

Anyway - the whole matter is too complicated and too energy consuming... I'm realy just not all that into it... What I am into, is a peaceful solution - which is based on mutual agreement and acknowledgement...

Israel is there to stay - and the Palestinians must try to think within REASON... Not make fables and fairytales...

Just like Kurds can't claim ownership of say for example Sîwas or Mûsil - the Palestinians can't claim ownership of Eilat or Golan...

there will be peace if they give us back the west bank and east jerusalem, the right of return, release prisoners, offer affordable price of fresh water and stop building new jewish settlements on our land. etc. the occupier knows, but do not want to admit that occupation breeds freedomfighting. incursions, raids, economic and commercial blockades, cutting of electricity fuel, bulldozing olive orchards, curfews encourages us to fight more. peace will come when the occupation ends, but i think annapolis peace meeting will fail because
jew officials do not want this meeting to have any real results, which will give them ''excuse'' for large scale military incursion here into gaza. they have made it so hard for us to have a independent state by building settlements on our stolen land and slowly pushing us into oblivion and then they claim that we ''want to drive them to the sea''......

Welcome to Roj Bash Kurdistan, Moe :)

Please check out "Introduce Yourself" section of the forums - I`ve opened a welcome thread for you...

I agree that Israel must withdraw from the West Bank - but I also think Israel isn't the only one to blame (as you can see from my posts). I believe the problem lies with both sides - and that only both sides can end the problem once and for all...

Now - a question to you: What would you say if Gaza was under Egyptian rule and the West Bank under Jordanian rule? Having a country with two separate entities will be hard, if not impossible - when you have to cross Israel to go to the other side... People have talked about building a tunnel or a bridge... What do you think is the solution to this problem?

welcome to rbk! :)

i hope you have peace and your occupied land is given back. i have heard about palestinian refugee problem and i hope they all can return to palestine. it is very sad about there not being enough pure drinking water there. i understand why you fight for freedom from unjust ocupation.

Ironically I have been to both Tel Aviv and Lebanon, where I went to a Palestinian camp in south Beirut DAHIA ,or you might know it as Sabra and Shatilla site of a horrid massacre in Sept.1982 b ut I support the palestinians as most have been forced into abject poverty living as stateless peoples . I honestly dont think any peace will be possible till firstly Palestinians are given some citizenship and full rights , as most are in crowded dirty camps in the middle east leaving in sqaulor . I think Palestinians need to accept the reality that military is not a way to deal with the Israelis as , they have probably most powerful army in the middle east . Israelis need realize that Palestinians , are not Red Indians and you cant throw them into a corner when they have been habiting the land for thousands of years. Egos have to be put aside only then something will be accomplished .
