What is a proper breakfast, according to you ? What do you take ?

I HATE cereals (that's chickens food, not for humans and I will never eat seeds at morning).

Old English saying:

“Eat Breakfast Like a King, Lunch Like a Prince, and Dinner Like a Pauper”

I always try to eat a healthy breakfast as I can never be sure what I will eat during the rest of the day, especially if I am out to meetings

I normally eat a fish salad :D

I will probably snack for lunch and have another salad or something else light for dinner, unless I go out or someone else is cooking dinner :ymdevil:

A fish salad for breakfast ? :ymsick:

I would rather to take the true traditional English Breakfast, full of cholesterol :D

Many French hardly eat at morning, but the lunch is generally copious, like the dinner, which is eaten late (7 - 8. pm and even 9 pm).

Traditionally breakfast used to be very large and not always healthy, fried kippers being a favourite as are eggs :D

Our breakfast were always very fattening

Lunch is between 12 noon - 1pm and around 4/5pm we have an afternoon snack (afternoon tea) to keep us going until dinner time :D

But we also have several tea/coffee breaks during the day - British workmen seem to have tea-breaks HOURLY X(

The last clue to lose weight :

« Left to eat, Agatha carefully sliced a line down the middle of her plate and ate half. Once, in an attempt to up-market her reading, she had read Muriel Spark’s A Far Cry From Kensington. In it, the heroine had figured out that if she ate only half of everything on her plate, she would lose weight. »

Extrait de: Beaton M. C. « The Witch of Wyckhadden. »

I don't like to waste food when a meal is good, but sharing in 2 could allow to have leftover for the next meal.

I am going to watch the series on Amazon next week :ymhug:

As for wasting food - I use smaller plates and seldom put too much food on my plate

I never eat chocolate or sweets, though I enjoy a couple of biscuits with my cup of tea :D

I am not sure the series is good, I did not watch it, just read M.C. Beaton's books.

In summer, my addiction is … Ice Cream.

But what eat with 45ºc ?

45c

Not sure if I should laugh or cry #:-s

It went down to 5c here last night, it is only 15c now and it is almost noon in UK

I had to put my central heating on

A little warmer would be ideal but not sure I could survive 45c, though I would love the chance to find out =))

Study says four cups of coffee per day can lower risk of death

A new study from Spanish researchers suggests that higher coffee consumption is linked to a lower risk of death, USA Today reports.

The study was presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The findings — as concluded by the Hospital de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain — suggest that those who drink at least four cups of coffee per day had a 64% lower risk of death than those who did not consume, or hardly consumed, coffee, USA Today writes.

The study tracked the health of 20,000 participants over the course of about 10 years.

Findings even suggest that those 45 and older had a 30% lower chance of death if they drank two additional cups of coffee per day.

Dr. Adela Navarro, a cardiologist at the hospital which conducted the study, said that the findings suggest that four cups could be the staple of a healthy diet.

This conclusion falls in line with two additional studies, published this year, suggesting that coffee had positive benefits on the body. One suggested a lower risk of death by means of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease, USA Today writes.

Well you can drink black coffee. Here, I drink coffee with milk, because it is instant coffee. But a true good black coffee does not need milk.
