Welcome To Roj Bash Kurdistan

"The Kurds flung themselves, like wild beasts..."

This is where you can talk about every subject (previously it was called shout room)

Hmmm.... Dilshad ---> I see... But so what of it? This makes us BOTH sound very childish - but I am the grandson of my tribes Axa...

I believe in that system - FOR THE PAST - because our people had no real unity and the "common pain common dreams" theory wasn't all that true before... We had to have strong people to uphold the traditions and lifestyle which we come from - but today I resent that idea! Because every time and place has it's needs! And to say that I support the Axa system for what it WAS is just part of my pride as a Kurd. Not because I come from it - no not at all - even those who don't come from it supported it's paramount and undeniable importance... It HAS been the most important factor for the suvival of Kurdish culture... Believe it or not my brother! The Turks and Persians and Arabs SAW that the Axa's and Mîr's had a great and unmatched strenght in the society which our grandparents lived in - and therefore tried to rule the Axa's and Mîr's... They could have abolished them altogether... That was the only way they could have "peaceful" influence on Kurds... And thanks to the Axa's and Mîr's conservative and "backward" attitude (as our enemies described them) they managed to keep their roots and traditions alive... I do however (Like I CLEARLY stated in the first post support a strong hierarchy in Kurdistan) I support the will of the Kurds and specially the "peasant"...

But the reason I say all this (And I see we agree about) is that I support KURDISH culture and it's evolution - our culture is a STRONG one and it has influenced our occupiers - not the other way around... ANd we need to keep on Kurdish tracks not on Turkish/Persian/Arab... We should BUILD on what we have instead of "borrowing" from our neighbours... That is what I am angered at - because that is what HALF the Kurds in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan are doing - they are forgetting their roots - like they don't teach their children Kurdish, they don't make Kurdish food, they don't use Kurdish clothes (which are very unique for each region) and they don't play Kurdish music... They are GIVING their culture to the Turks/Persians and Arabs... The Maqam which has been spread from Afghanistan to Morrocco is KURDISH! And we must NOT GIVE IT AWAY!!!

I am realy just agreeing with you - and I am sure that you can see the benfits of having a strong Axa system before and not now... Today we can learn Kurdish at school in Turkey (private) LEGALY and that was unheard of 80 years back... So we are making progress - and we are making a strong comback... But we need to respect and understand the past of our people - we can'tdo like the PKK and say that ALL of Kurdish culture sucks... And that the Axa system NEVER was good for anything except oppression... That is a strong and wrong thing to say... Because we need to look at it in different angles and be more nuanced... Todays light is stronger than that enlightement that was found among Kurds 80 years ago...

Piling, it really does not have to do with who likes and hates us. The fact of the matter is that there is an open campaign initiated by Assyrians all over the world to depict Kurds as a very negative people. This is what is upsetting - not whether people love or hate us. There are plenty that do not like us.

As Piling said, there is nothing to be worried about.

The internet is an open system..Anyone can write anything they want.
For example if you search for "Americans" you will find a lot of negative things about them.
Or if you search for "French" you will find a lot of negative things about them etc etc.
The important thing is not to react to these messages.

So what let them waste time hating.....We should not do the same..just don't give them attention it is pointless to be honest.

That is fine if you believe that there is nothing to worry about. However, I believe that these kinds of things will erupt into a bigger problem, which is unnecessary, between Kurds and Assyrians.

The campaign by Assyrian nationalists is not just an internet campaign. They have attempted several times to take this campaign to an international level in order to undermine the Kurdish right to independence. Most recently, Assyrians claimed that they lacked voting booths in their areas in Iraq and the Kurds are to blame. These claims were brought to the UN. Furthermore, those living in the most benefited areas of Hewler voted for Allawi's party.

It is just disturbing and I think it is good for us to discuss it here at least amongst ourselves...
