Wow!! those pictures were breathtaking and beautiful, my favorite one was picture of DESHTA MUCHE (used to live in MUSHE). Ya I know what you mean about those cruel gewads, they give you so much kul u xem until they let you by. I myself went through the same thing about six months ago.

You know - I too was in Northern Kurdistan 6 months ago... They make you stop and they wanna look at your papers every 20 km... They can be very frustrating - because they act like you have done something wrong - so they show you little or no respect at all... It's realy tragic...


You used to live in Mûş?

I was expecting that Mûş looked a little better than it did - but it won't look good of course, as long as it's under occupation - the occupiers don't care about it - it doesn't matter for them if it looks dirty and poor... Because Kurds live there - it's Kurdistan - so they don't want what's best for it...

I lived in Muche for about 4 years in the late 80S to early 90s. sadly like u said i does look very poor, and dirty. but that doesn't suprise me much, i mean look at all the other kurdish cities, they're all basically the same... but in my eyes that place will always be bahashta ser dunyaye :) :D

Parsi - that castle is still standing today... It's in Hewlêr - and it's the same style as can be found in other Kurdish cities: Entep, Mêrdîn, Amed, Amêdiya etc...


Saddam razed the one in Kerkûk - which also was of the same style and probably also same period - but it's Kurdishness was a threat to Saddam... It was even bigger than the one in Hewlêr...

That's how it looked like in ca. 2004?

Now it's the biggest construction site in Kurdistan - cranes everywhere and new projects decorating the city life...

It's grown from 300 000 inhabitants to 900 000 in just a decade...
