Fire wrote:We don't Need to be that pessimistic Anthea because one Thing is sure. A Kurdish Autonomy Region will definitely come, there is no other Option. If PKK and Öcalan won't create it, the 50 Million Kurdish Population will do it.

I see with my own eyes how patriotic and nationalist the younger Kurdish Generation is. Especially here in Europe. And this Young Kurdish Generation, who will be the Future of the Kurdish Nation won't accept a life under Turkish rule, flag and State. Never. Kurds won't accept this. The reason why people follow and respect Öcalan is because of his repuation and people still believe that he and PKK will create the autonomy. But the Point is. Kurdish People want an Independent Kurdistan which either contains a own State or a own Autonomy Region at the very least. And as Long as this won't happen the fight won't end. That's for sure. Actually the fight will be much more brutal than before.

And the Turkish State and the Turks should be very careful. When they move on in goading the Kurdish Nation and fooling the People, the civil war will be inevitable. That's not my words. Even expertes who deals with the Kurdish Topic say that a huge war whose huge Dimension will be unpredictable will happen if this problem won't be solved right now. This is the last Chance at the Moment. Actually, in 1999, after Apos capture Istanbul was already under fire. Only Öcalan himself could stop it and he did to prevent the civil war. So there is only one choice. Kurdish Autonomy and to accept each other or the total destruction of Turkey which would be the end for everyone. Nobody wants this but this will be the only Logical conclusion-

You are 100% right. I have said it myself many times. Young Kurds know much more about Kurdish history and all the terrible things that have been done to Kurds, than their parents and grandparents ever knew. But more than that, they see how well Kurds are doing in South Kurdistan, they see what is happening in the rest of the world, they see how badly treated Kurds are being, they know of the Kurdish ghettos and high level of illiteracy, Turks seldom employ Kurds and Kurds generally have the lowest paid jobs.

At my most pessimistic, I have wondered if the entire so-called peace process had the sole aim of bring about the destruction of the PKK and causing an uprising among the Kurds that would enable Turkey to use even greater force to suppress the Kurds. Should such a situation arise Turkey is bound to receive international support. WHY. Because in the eyes of the world Turkey will have shown had hard they are working for peace. Very few people will release it was all a sham X(

If PKK leave Turkish soil there will be a lot of very angry young people without any experienced leadership to control and guide them. I fully expect a civil war to break out in Turkey.

25 March

I chat to friends, as do we all, none of them expected Ocalan to talk about Turkish/Kurdish brotherhood and none of them expected him to talk about the PKK leaving Turkish soil. Most people expected the PKK, with it's vast network and years of experience, to play an important part in shaping the freedom or autonomy of North Kurdistan. My Kurdish friends find it hard to believe that Ocalan would be calling for what sounds like national unity with Turkey, without any form of self rule or self government what-so-ever for Kurds X(

26 March

Everything is still a mess.

Turkey have been building up to this sort of action for YEARS and I for one am not really surprised

Turkey have been getting very nervous due to the economic and political power that South Kurdistan has acquired over recent years, especially now that the BIG BOYS of the oil industry are becoming involved. Also now with all the increased activity among Kurds in Syria Turkey is frightened. It was bad enough for Turkey to see Syrian Kurds pushing for independence but when the fighting started and everyone else became involved, the Turkish government realised that situation could actually spill over into Turkey itself. We all know that the Kamalists and the government do not exactly get on 8)

The Turkish regime have been struggling to suppress Kurds for many years, and not just Kurds of Turkish soil. It has supported assorted nefarious activities aimed at disrupting Kurdish activities in other countries, including sponsoring Turmen in Kirkuk to prevent the area being included within South Kurdistan. Turkey has also contacted other countries in an attempt to have Kurdish centres and organisations closed down.

One thing that I do know without a shadow of a doubt, if the PKK leave Turkish soil it will NEVER return X(

Not very much happening on this site at the moment - all the turks seem to have vanished =))

Much as I hunt through the various web sites I have yet to find anything that give Kurds in Turkey even the slightest hope for any form of autonomy or self rule in the future. The opposite in fact is true. Not only will the current generation of Kurds remain living as an integral part of the Great Turkish Nation :ymsick: but following generations of Kurds born on Turkish soil will be TURKS X(

I knew several people who left England to join the PKK and fight for an Independent Kurdistan. Recently, I think about them a lot. Who proud they were. I remember people I will not name telling me about all the PKK fighters. Many of the fighters came from across the world to fight for freedom. They wanted their children to have a country to call their own :((

Things that really annoy me:

There is no longer any chance of Kurds in Turkey ever becoming part of a United Kurdistan

All those who have died fighting for freedom have been betrayed X(

All the news items always mention how many people have died during the fighting between the PKK and Turkish military, they NEVER mention all the people Turkey tortured and murdered in it's prisons during the same time period

They NEVER mention all the brave people who died fighting for freedom before the PKK started

They NEVER mention all the Kurdish political parties that Turkey closed down

In fact they NEVER mention any of the horrendous things that the Turkish regime has done to Kurds over the years

All I see is that the BDP MPs are not and never has been, putting the interests of Kurds before their own individual interests

erDOGan wants to change the entire Turkish constitution to make himself president and transfer power currently held by the Turkish Prime-minister to the post of president so that he can play God for another 10 years

KURDS

5 million Kurds in South Kurdistan are KURDISH

25 million Kurds in what we once referred to as North Kurdistan are TURKISH

The Kurds in Syria had expected support from the PKK especially as so many of them (more than 7 thousand) joined the PKK and died fighting for a free Kurdistan

Now the PKK is supposed to leave Turkish soil by the end of June FOOK THAT X(

The blood of the PKK fighters is on that land where they fought and died for a Free Kurdistan now they are being banished X(

Nothing exciting happening, far too cold to venture out some days as it has been below minus 10c, dogs getting fat through lack of exercise :ymdevil:

I found a supply of chocolate I had forgotten I had :ymdevil:

I am still VERY ANGRY that my Kurdish friends have been betrayed, my hope is that the PKK will have the sense to ignore Ocalan and use their organisational ability for more positive non-violent action :D

30 March

I have been changing all my software today, still trying to find a distro I like, though I never stick to just one :D

I was a Mint fan when it was Mint 12 but not any more, I used to prefer Mandriva but that has had problems for years and I did not like Mageia nearly as much. Ubuntu, perhaps I am not the only person who thinks that they made a mistake with Unity but I am really surprised that Mageia pushed them into 3rd place. They are the BIG 3 :D

Fedora, Debian, openSUSE and Arch are still up there and they will always be near the top, tried, tested and totally reliable. Also, a great many up and coming distros are based on Debian :D

I know what I will try Linux Mint 201303 "Debian" Cinnamon, though Debian" Mate looks very tempting :D

I NEED MORE COMPUTERS :ymdevil:

31 March

According to the Met Office, they provide weather forecasts in England, this is the coldest Easter in history. I believe them

I am still more than a little perplexed by Ocalan and his best friend erDOGan's use of the term cease-fire. A cease-fire is an agreement to stop fighting pure and simple, nothing more. What the dynamic duo are demanding is a complete surrender. The surrender of all the Kurds hopes for a free Kurdistan. The surrender of weapons and banishment from Turkish soil.

Perhaps someone could help me out here because I do not remember any other ehnic group who having surrendered have then been banished from there country :-?

If the PKK accepted a ceasefire agreement this time around and it includes the agreement to hold a political dialogue, I would suggest another country such as Norway mediate, because the surrender in it's present form is unjust. I further suggest the PKK remain on Turkish soil. There is NO reason for them to be banished. And if they remain in Turkey there is always the hope that they would start their own political party so that one day it will become KURDISH soil :ymhug:

1 April

Things are getting worse in Syria

Over 6,000 people killed during March, with at least 298 children among those killed :((

Kurds will be forgotten again. Kurds are always forgotten. Syrian Kurds are the most forgotten of all the Kurds. Syrian Kurds and not even mention in reports about the fighting in Syria :((

The problems Kurds face in Turkey will be ignored as other items of news come out.

The PKK have missed there chance yet again :-o

Wake up PKK. Every time there is any media news coverage concerning Kurds get your supporters and dash out onto the streets, do things to keep information about Kurds flowing and hopefully while the PKK is considered newsworthy, they would get even more media coverage.

To the PPK: you MUST have a publicity department somewhere and it is time they did a lot more to raise the profile of Turkish Kurds :o)

"We, the democratically elected leaders of our people, hereby declare North Kurdistan to be an independent and sovereign state. This declaration reflects the will of our people. We declare North Kurdistan to be a democratic, secular and multi-ethnic republic, guided by the principles of non-discrimination and equal protection under the law."

OR

We, the democratically elected representatives of the people, based on the will of the people of North Kurdistan and as confirmed by the outcome of the referendum on self determination, hereby declare North Kurdistan to be an independent and sovereign state.

Simple: Do Kurds living on Turkish soil wish to become Mountain Turks?

WAKE UP PKK

Do something useful for the Kurds and hold a genuine referendum to find out what Kurds REALLY want and GIVE THEM THE CHOICE

Forget Ocalan, you have spent years fighting for KURDISH FREEDOM now do it legally. Do what other much smaller countries have done.

DECLARE INDEPENDENCE

Before Kurds join Ocalan in his "Hug-A-Turk" campaign and become brothers PLEASE would someone ask the Turkish regime about the more than 5,000 murders of Kurds that were admitted to have taken place, plus all the THOUSANDS that were never acknowledged to have taken place X(

Peace cannot be based on lies, let Turkey admit to their crimes :ymsick:

Where is spring ?

Snow that does not settle, freezing cold winds that has managed to find cracks in my home that I did not know I had

I think that I will become a Zoroastrian and worship the sun IF it ever manages to break through the thick grey cloud that have been overhead for weeks.

YES I know that it gets a lot colder in Kurdistan BUT in England we are not used to subzero temperatures lasting for week after week :-o

And the news is as depressing as the weather :((

The one cheerful thing is KURDISTAN :ymparty:

Kurdistan is going from strength to strength and every day things are getting better :ymparty:

Some people may mistakenly refer to it as the Kurdish region of Iraq, some may mistakenly refer to it as South Kurdistan, but to the Kurds living there, they know that they live in Kurdistan :ymparty:

5 March

Still cold wind and still keeps trying to snow X(

I still do not have the urge to spring clean - I did make a start but then I stopped due to frostbite and closed all my windows again :))

Not many people on here recently, I do not think people know what to say about Ocalan and his close friend erDOGan. Many Kurds in England do NOT think that people should take any notice of Ocalan and I agree :D

The Turkish government lie, they always lie when it comes to anything concerning the Kurds. We all know that Turkey cannot be trusted :ymsick:

I have often wondered if the Kemalist generals who were imprisoned by the Turkish regime were actually part of a plot to overthrow the government or were the accusations LIES so that the Muslims could gain more control over the Kemalist military. I am NOT the only person who believes that the arrests of the Kemalists were part of a plan by the government to gain more control over the army

I wonder exactly how much control the government actually has over the Kemalist military :-ss

If the Kemalists are against erDOGan's peace plan erDOGan will be in serious trouble :)) and so will the Kurds

6 April

The sun came out from behind the clouds today for the first time in weeks BRILLIANT :D

In the evening I saw 2 gritting lorries - do they know something I do not know :-o

No news yet of erDOGan and Ocalan's letter to the PKK :-ss

The PKK envisage themselves proudly marching out of Turkey =;

The Turkish government envisage them as leaving Turkey in ones and twos so not to draw attention to themselves, dressed in civilian clothes and unarmed 8-}

Me, I think as I have always thought, that the PKK should remain in Turkey :ymparty:

7 April

I found out why the gritting lorries were out yesterday, we had a thick ground frost here last night with temperature as low as minus 10c, but it really warmed up during the day and was possibly over 15c, not much fun having that much difference between day and night :(

Not much happening on here, perhaps we are all waiting for the contents of the erDOGan/Ocalan letter to be made known :ymdevil:

I have no idea why anyone takes any notice of Ocalan after all the Turkish loving things that he has said, and all these years that he has been totally cut off from the outside world, and cut off from his solicitors for nearly 2 years :ymdevil:
