Piling drinks black coffee

I drink black tea

Piling is in France and is allowed to ask for black coffee

I am in England and it is not politically correct to ask for black tea - or black coffee

Friends of mine have a burger van - they ask their customers if they would like their tea or coffee black or white - several times they have been told by customers that it is wrong to use the term black tea or black coffee

It is NOT a joke - England has got political correctness :-o

My friends with the burger van are not English and think that England has gone mad

Recently some servers at a college have also got into trouble for asking students if they want black or white tea/coffee

I enjoy black tea and I am not afraid to admit it :o)

In France most of the time we don't say 'café noir', we say only 'café' and everybody understand 'Black coffee'. We have to precise 'café au lait' if we want it milk. We don't say white coffee.

But in French slang, that is true, it is called also 'un petit noir' (an espresso).

In any case, Black is not a forbidden word. 'Nègre' is considered as insulting, though it has the same meaning in fact (negro is Black in Portuguese) but because it refers only to Black African people.

There was a dessert called 'Nègre en chemise' : a cocoa cake covered with white cream ; or a chocolate with coconut inside called 'Tête de Nègre'. Now these names are considered like racist (in fact a remain of colonial period) but Black is only an ordinary adjective of color.

We are NOT allowed to say "black tea" because it is racist - but we can say white tea X(

We cannot say blackboard but we can say whiteboard X(

It some areas people cannot even openly celebrate Christmas because it might offend Muslims X(

Black and ethnic minorities now receive preferential treatment in most things X(

People no longer want to rent out accommodation to black people because it is too difficult to evict them if they cause trouble - they just use the race card and pretend that the landlords are being racist X(

We are told that businesses have to employ black and ethnic minorities - employers want to be able to employ the best person for the job - NOT the person with the blackest skin X(

It has become a joke because now companies are having to employ people on point of contact who cannot speak English - people in this country now spend HOURS on the telephone trying to explain thigs to others who do not understand enough English to understand us X(

In the past - when I have employed people who represent my company - and are the first contact anyone will have with my company - I employ people who are able to speak English clearly and understand what is being said to them

If a person is in a position where they are seen - they will dress well - speak clearly - and have a pleasant welcoming smile - it does not matter what colour a person is :ymhug:

This country is becoming far more racist recently - and the governments are to blames X(

It seems that I lost another pound. That's great.

The inconvenient : I have NO CLOTHES that suit me now. I am like Harry Potter floating inside Dudley's trousers. :p
