Thoughts of the day every day in 2013

This is where you can talk about every subject (previously it was called shout room)

14 May

Firat News is still almost completely in Turkish with a couple of Kurdish dialects and only 4 news items in English X(

Every week it becomes more and more TURKISH as do the Kurds in Turkey.

Sometimes I wonder if the Kurds actually realise what is really happening to them

18 MAY

I was chatting with one of my young Pakistani friends today. He invited me to accompany him to Mecca later this year :D He is very open about his beliefs and loves talking about them :D

I have been wondering if one of the reasons Kurds from N K are not happy talking about Islam could be because they know so little about it, especially Kurds on this site who immediately become defensive when a non-Kurd mentions Islam :-?

Maybe it has to do with the attitude in the west to blame anything bad in the world on Islam. If someone farts in an elevator or a public and it stinks, it probably has to do with shariah law or the qu'ran, or evil muslims, or is somehow indirectly connected to it.

I do NOT think we are particularly anti-Islam in UK, at least not as bad as America. We have other problems in UK, mainly gangs of black youths involved in drugs and terrorising some housing estates. These have been a lot of gang related shootings and stabbings. For the first time ever in England we have armed police on some of the housing estates due to the violence.

In England our favourite take-away is Indian or Pakistani food, a large percentage of our doctors are Indian or Pakistani, and MOST of our pharmacists are on or the other :ymhug:

Have you seen what is written in the media, and what is said by far-right parties, and what people say on the internet?

Unfortunately, our government are causing racial hatred by spreading lies.

I know it sounds strange but we have some stupid loony left-wing idiots causing trouble.

We have left-wing councils banning the use of Father Christmas and Christmas trees. In some places people were told to call them holiday trees, in case the word Christmas offended Muslims. This is how stupid some left wing areas are becoming.

It gets worse, some people have been FORBIDDEN to wear a cross round their necks at work in case if offends Muslims. I have NEVER met a Muslim who was offended by a Christian wearing a cross. I sometimes wonder who is behind all this hate :-o

The Daily Express is our worst newspaper for stirring race hate

I think that half the problem is people do not mix. My stomach and I have always been involved in interfaith and multicultural activities :D

24 May

I think I am suffering from FROSTBITE

Summer is due to make an appearance on Sunday, hope it stays for a while but I doubt it :ymsick:

For those of you who have not read my post entitled:

Immigrants siting no job as reason to riot and steal

Here is a copy :D

I am fed up with people who come to this country as refugees, and black people who are born in England, using their lack of employment as an excuse to riot and steal X(

The violence and robberies in immigrant and black neighbourhoods is a far deal higher than that in hard-up white areas.

Most of our unemployed people are too lazy to study, train of move away from the TV X(

Most of my Kurdish friends work very hard. Those from SK, EK and WK normally study very hard. It cannot be easy for them to learn English when their script is so different. Those from NK are more lightly to work in kebab shops. Kurds look on it as a sense of duty and pride to be able to provide for their families. Even the most poorly educated Kurd will find employment in a kebab shop kitchen cleaning and chopping salad. Kurds are NOT lazy :D

When my closest and oldest friend (a Kurd) came here from NK he could not even write. He got a job hand-washing dishes in a hotel kitchen. Because there were no English classes when they came here, both him and his brother taught themselves PERFECT English and went on to become millionaires. Both have had there ups and downs and been penniless. Both have had business failures but neither has ever given up, and they always have time to help other people. :ymapplause:

Some of the students I have had had NEVER even held a pen before. Yet they all studied hard and ALL went on to further training, education and employment :D

In England most of our nurses are non English, a great many of them African. A lot of Africans become cleaners while they are studying.

75% of our doctors are from non-white backgrounds. Most children here who come from Indian and Pakistani backgrounds KNOW they will be professional people when they finish their studies. Yet often their parents are taxi drivers or work in shops or restaurants.

We have a lot of Polish workers in England. Some of them were professional people in Poland. In England they are willing to take on almost any job and work very hard :ymapplause:

Race relations in England have been getting worse in recent years. English people are developing a strong dislike of Muslims. This is a fault of local authorities who keep telling English people things such as: you cannot celebrate Christmas because you will offend Muslims; you cannot have a Father Christmas because you will offend Muslims; you must call a Christmas tree a celebration tree instead or you will offend Muslims; you cannot wear a cross round your neck at work in case a Muslim co-worker see it and is offended.

We have a strange form of positive discrimination in England. We no longer employ the best person for the job, we have to an ethnic. However, this does not work the other way round, non-English companies do not have to employ English people X(

NOW that the murder of the this young soldier has taken place, no-one is going to differentiate between different ethnic groups in England. Things are going to get much worse.

Wonder where that leaves people such as I, with my BLACK son (adopted), and about to organise a multi-cultural interfaith festival :-? I do not think I will be wearing a shalwar kameez this summer :ymdevil:

They think that all Muslims are like Saudi ? In Erbil at Christmas Time, you can see Father Christmas and trees everywhere, not only among Christians… And they love to celebrate Valentine Day. It is the same in Syria and Turkey…

But we have the same anti-Christian attitude in France. Not for protection muslim feelings (islam is not very popular here), but for a wrong conception of secularism.

I have to make a salad of baby spinaches, turnip greens, raisins, roasted chickpeas.

The problem is that turnip greens are not so common to find in France. As roasted chickpeas.

If I don't find all the components I have to invent. :-?
