The problem is that turnip greens are not so common to find in France. As roasted chickpeas.

If I don't find all the components I have to invent. :-?

Is this one of the recipes from Game of Thrones :-\

But we have the same anti-Christian attitude in France. Not for protection muslim feelings (islam is not very popular here), but for a wrong conception of secularism.

It is really that bad here, Christian have been made to feel that they have less rights than Muslims in England.

The local governments, along with national government, have caused a lot of problems and turned Christians against Muslims in England.

So now white English people actually do have less rights than any other ethnic group in England X(

In France no ethnic group has ANY rights because it is forbidden to mention ethnic belonging in our constitution or citizenship. It is even forbidden to make statistics concerning ethnicity. That's a big problem for sociologists…

So in another way, we can consider that we give NO rights to communities. That's not wrong. 'Lobby' and 'community identities' are strongly pejorative in France. As 'positive discrimination'.

And some people who defend the right to be different show UK as a model : Look ! Even a police woman can wear a hijeb if she likes ! (in France all religious signs are forbidden for State workers).

And concerning religious rights I think that only Czech is more anti clerics than France :ymdevil:

I have found no baby spinaches, no turnip greens, no roasted chicken peas. OK. This evening I will eat roasted chicken and French fries :p

25 May

It is finally starting to warm up :D

I wish England was the same as France and that it was forbidden for us to mention ethnic belonging in our constitution or citizenship. In almost every form we fill in we are required to fill in an equal opportunities section and give details of our ethnicity and our religion among other things. I always write Martian Pastafarian, and where they write sex I write YES PLEASE :ymdevil:

I believe that people should all be treated equally, attend culturally mixed schools and learn to live together :o)

in France all religious signs are forbidden for State workers and so that is how it should be :ymapplause:

Roasted chicken and French fries my type of food :D

As I've posted there, an atheism map in the world confirms what I say : France is the second atheist country behind Czech Republic. So it can explain our anti religious policy :-D

Concerning China and Japan, the point is that Atheism has not the same meaning for Buddhists because Buddhism is already a Godless spirituality.

And Japanese shintoism puts divinities everywhere : there are some for tea, shoes, water, trees, so no God, just Things.

Which is entirely daft and immature. The French elites and the french government are so unwilling to admit that there are inter-ethnic and interracial problems, because of their entire immature idealistic unrealistic enlightenment ideals that are deeply embedded in their culture. Informally, everyone knows there are problems. But their pride hinges on the fact that their enlightenment heritage can be applied and maintained, even when it's completely unrealistic and stupid. If they were mature, they'd just admit that there is strong ethnic and cultural segregation, and that their civic identity is completely erroneous. Voltaire, Rosseau, Montesquieu, and other enlightenment writers, their idea of multicultural and multiethnic/multiracial societies didn't go further than the most foreign person in their society being a German/Italian/Brit/Spaniard or at the furthest a Bulgarian or Russian. Besides them being Bipolar, in one writing Voltaire writes that ottoman turks are the spawn of satan and worship a demonic deity, in another he writes that they can be his brothers(might be satire, but who knows). Which is something I find with other French writers, like tocqueville, at one point he says that the algerian arabs can be their brothers, in the other he supports ethnic cleansing/ethnic genocide.

In England the central government, as well as local governments, make the racial/ethnic/religious divide much wider and are the MAIN cause of racial tension X(

I had a friend who, God rest his soul, spent his entire life encouraging people to work together and share their cultures and religions. He was behind the starting up of English language schemes, the instigator of many multi-cultural initiatives including a mini United Nations. One day the government decided they would not fund his poplar events and gave the money to BLACK HISTORY MONTH X(

The more segregated people become the less we know about each other. Now we have reached the stage where for many people in England, the only knowledge people have of other ethnic groups is the violence that is widely publicised. Ignorance breeds fear and fear breeds violence

26 May

I do believe that summer has finally arrived :D

BUT I thought the same thing a couple of weeks ago and winter came back :ymsick:

Anyway it has been a lovely day :))

My tax

I often complain that the money I pay in tax pays to keep people in prison would be far better spent of pensioners.

It costs £40,000 a year to keep someone who has committed a crime in prison

A pensioner, who has never committed a crime in their life, is entitled to a maximum state pension of £110.15 per week to cover the costs of heating, food, clothing and everything else apart from rent. A grand total of £5727.80.

Now I discover that some of my tax payments go towards people such as Anjem Choudary. He received £25,000 a year in handouts, while professing to hate Britain, and has brazenly inspired terrorists for a decade and boasted of helping to radicalise Adebolajo.

The Sun

Image

TAXPAYERS are “unwittingly funding terrorism” by paying benefits to hate preachers such as Anjem Choudary, a former top soldier said yesterday.

He was backed by MPs who called on Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith to change the system which sees jobless Choudary able to claim £25,000 a year in handouts.

It came as exiled Muslim extremist Omar Bakri told The Sun how he recognised bloody-handed killer Michael Adebolajo from their time together at Woolwich mosque in South East London — and he declared: “What he did was brave.”

The Sun told yesterday how Choudary — who professes to hate Britain — has brazenly inspired terrorists for a decade and boasted of helping to radicalise Adebolajo.

Last night Col Richard Kemp, former Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, insisted: “The DWP is unwittingly funding terrorism by paying benefits to Anjem Choudary. You could say that by paying taxes, and putting money into his pocket, I am funding terrorism. I resent that.

“It’s disgraceful the taxpayer is being forced to fund someone who has had an active hand in indoctrinating people who have then carried out violence against us. I believe a law needs to be found. Choudary needs to be stopped.”

Ex-soldier and Tory MP Patrick Mercer said: “I have no doubt the DWP need to tighten their stance on him.” Another former soldier and Tory MP Bob Stewart added: “The law says he is entitled to benefits. It’s as irritating as hell.”

Fellow firebrands Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada have also cost taxpayers a fortune. And father-of-six Bakri bagged £300,000 benefits before being booted to Lebanon.

Speaking from the capital Beirut, he said he had spotted pictures of Adebolajo ranting just moments after the bloody murder of soldier Lee Rigby, 25.

He said: “I used to know him — a quiet man, very shy, asking lots of questions about Islam.”

He added: “I am not justifying what he did, but it was very brave and showed courage.

“What surprised me is the quiet man, the man who is very shy, decided to carry out an attack against a British soldier in the middle of the day in the middle of a street in the UK. It’s incredible.”

Later he told newsmen in Tripoli, Libya: “Michael killed in front of everyone. Was he a man or not? May God reward him for his actions.

“The Muslims in this country are so proud. They see him as a freedom fighter attacking a military target.”

The murder has been condemned by Muslim organisations across Britain. Meanwhile cops have launched a blitz on social network users posting alleged anti-Muslim messages.

Avon and Somerset Police arrested two Twitter users aged 22 and 23 on Thursday over allegations they were trying to organise a protest.

Yesterday a third man aged 22 was charged in Lincoln over remarks on Facebook.

28 May

Thinking about ethnicity, I would like to share a few details from a form I have just received:

This form asks about the ethnic group to which you feel you belong.
Providing this information will helo us to give a better service to all patients that we treat - this includes ensuring meal menu options available to patients meet the needs of the community and the requirements of some ethnic groups.

Ethnic category

Asian - any other Asian background
Asian or Asian British - Bangladeshi
Asian or Asian British - Indian
Asian or Asian British - Pakistani
Black - Any other Black background
Black or Black British - African
Black or Black British - Caribbean
Mixed - Any other Mixed background
Mixed - White and Asian
Mixed - Black and White Africian
Mixed - Black and White Caribbean
Other - Chinese
White - Any other White background
White - British
White - Irish

"...ensuring meal menu options available to patients meet the needs of the community and the requirements of some ethnic groups"

In NO part of the form did they ask if a person is a vegetarian, vegan, on a kosher or halal diet, suffers from any food allergies such as nut allergies, seafood allergies or dairy products allergies.

In NO part of the form did they ask if a person requires a translation service or help due to a disability such as hearing loss, visual impairment or mobility problems.

This form was pure and frightening eugenics similar to the forms used by Nazi Germany to segregate different ethnic groups prior to putting them in concentration camps X(

I am as always

I could understand if they ask religions concerning menu, but I don't see how the color of the skin can influence your diet.

OMG, a such list in France and you are put in jail for nazism

HITLER'S EMBRACE OF EUGENICS

A key program of the eugenicists was cleansing the human race by sterilizing the "unfit." By 1931, sterilization laws had been enacted in 27 states in the United States, and by 1935 sterilization laws had been enacted in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany. But the efficiency of the German eugenicists caused trouble.

Galton's ideas had been taken up in Germany by Friedrich Nietzsche in the 19th century. Then Ploetz and R6din laid the foundations of an effective eugenics program in Germany. In 1922, two men, a lawyer and a psychiatrist, Karl Binding, J. D., and Alfred Hoche, M.D. cooperated on a short book entitled Die Freigabe der Vernichtung lebensunwerten Lebens (Permission to Destroy Life Devoid of Value). The book encouraged Austrian physicians who were beginning to practice euthanasia illegally. And then Adolf Hitler, who had described his own eugenic ideas in Mein Kampf, came to power.

Hitler's determination to establish his "Master Race" was embraced by German eugenicists. And eugenicists elsewhere failed to criticize the Germans. In the United States, the Birth Control Review praised the effectiveness of the Germans, and published articles by R6din and others.

FEBRUARY 24, 1920
NAZIS OUTLINE POLITICAL AGENDA
The first public meeting of the Nazi party, then called the German Workers’ Party, takes place in Munich, Germany. Adolf Hitler issues a "25 Point Program" outlining the party's political agenda. The party platform embodies racism. It demands racial purity in Germany; proclaims Germany's destiny to rule over inferior races; and identifies Jews as racial enemies. Point 4 concludes that "No Jew, therefore, may be a member of the Nation."

JULY 18, 1925
THE FIRST VOLUME OF MEIN KAMPF APPEARS
Adolf Hitler wrote Mein Kampf while in prison for treason following his failed attempt to seize power in 1923. In Mein Kampf, he outlined his racial ideas. Hitler saw history as the struggle between races for living space. He envisioned a war of conquest in the east, with the Slavic peoples enslaved to German interests. He believed the Jews to be an exceptional evil, working within the nation to subvert "racial purity." He urged the "removal" of Jews from Germany.

JULY 14, 1933
NAZI STATE ENACTS RACIAL PURITY LAW
Believing that "racial purity" requires state regulation of human reproduction, Adolf Hitler issues the Law to Prevent Hereditarily Diseased Offspring. Among other provisions, the measure prohibits "undesirables" from having children and mandates forced sterilization of certain physically or mentally impaired individuals. The law will affect some 400,000 people over the next 18 months.

Anthea: You will notice that Hitler made his thoughts on racial purity well known some 20 years before the commencement of WW2 and not a single nation sort to question him instead a great many states in America, as well as several other countries, thought that Hitler's ideas on eugenics were so well founded that they themselves enacted sterilisation laws.

I am trying to find the actual guidelines, forms and/or questionnaires that were used by Nazis, but I strongly believe some of those questions to be shockingly similar to the ones contained in the questionnaire I received :ymsick:

30 May

Spring was coldest in 50 years, say Met Office figures

This spring is on track to be the coldest for more than 50 years, provisional Met Office figures suggest.

This month has seen lower than average temperatures and it has been wetter than usual, forecasters said.

The UK's mean temperature for spring - based on figures from 1 March to 28 May - is currently 6C.

If conditions stay the same in the last days of May, it will be the coldest spring since 1962, and the fifth coldest since records began in 1910.

The Met Office said earlier figures from 1 March to 15 May suggested spring was on track to be the sixth coldest since records began, and the coldest since 1979.

But cooler than average weather in the past fortnight has pushed the mean temperature for the season slightly lower, it said.

'Cold air'

The provisional temperature for this spring goes against recent form for the season, forecasters said, with eight of the past 10 years seeing warmer than average springs compared to the long-term (1981-2010) average of 7.7C.

The main reason for the low temperatures in spring was a colder than usual March, which had a mean temperature of 2.2C to 3.3C below the long-term average. This made it the coldest March since 1962.

The forecasters added that the colder than average conditions had been caused by frequent easterly and northerly winds, bringing cold air to the UK from polar and northern European regions.

Earlier this month, snow hit Shropshire and Devon and Cornwall, while Wales saw widespread snow in March.

Rainfall amounts for March and April were below average, but May is already wetter than average, with the average area receiving 86mm of rain up to the 28th day of the month - 70mm is the average.

The Met Office said this suggested that spring overall would be slightly drier than average - but not as dry as the springs of 2010 and 2011.
