Independent

Parts of Britain have been hit by heavy rain and 80mph winds as Storm Imogen hurtles in from the English Channel.

Southern England and parts of South Wales have been worst hit, with the highest winds in exposed coastal districts.

The Met Office has issued red warnings – meaning "flood is expected" - across England, while amber "be prepared" alerts have been put in place in the North East.

A statement posted on the Met Office website before the storm hit said: “Gusts of 60-70 mph are possible in southern England and parts of south Wales with 80 mph gusts possible in exposed coastal districts.

On 7 March I posted articles about the 1997 Peace Train

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16751

I wonder how many Kurds know about it

At the time it received International Support

19 years on Turkey is still killing Kurds

I have just posted an article on Ismet Chérif Vanly

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16787

Who I would say has to have been the most intelligent Kurdish gentleman it has ever been my privilege to know

Ismet Chérif Vanly was also one of the most widely respected of ALL the Kurds who ever existed

Ismet Chérif Vanly was welcomed by and listened to by ALL the Kurdish factions

Nowadays Kurds do not have such well loved leaders

Kurds badly need a new Ismet Chérif Vanly or a new Qazi Muhammad

It is time that Kurds united with a central aim

A Unified Independent Kurdistan

There can be NO OTHER solution

Nobody listens to Kurds anymore

WHY?

Mainly because Kurds have lots of little protests about different things

There is NO COHESION

Kurds should set themselves a single aim and go for it

But Kurds are being sidetracked and protesting about all the different terrible things that are happening to them

Kurds all want independence

Kurds are being attacked in Iraq by both Turkey and ISIS

Kurds are being attacked in the East of Turkey

Kurds are being attacked in many Turkish centres such as Ankara and Istanbul

Kurds are being attacked in Syria by both Turkey and ISIS

Kurds are being attacked when they seek refuge in Turkey - when they risk their lives to reach Europe they are not running from ISIS - they are running from the hash treatment they receive from Turks

Kurds also have half-hearted protests about Ocalan

Kurds need to re-market themselves

They also need to separate their cultural events from politics

Do NOT allow politicians to take over Newroz

There are Kurdish communities all over the world and most of them hold Newroz celebrations

Newroz is an ideal time to invite non-Kurds to share an important part of Kurdish culture

Sharing is an important of learning and learning leads to caring :ymhug:

I have been far too quiet recently :ymdevil:

I see a new face representing Kurds in Syria :-?

823

A great many people believe that Dr Jawad Mella should be in control of Western Kurdistan

Dr Mella has dedicated his entire life to Kurdish unity and in particular Western Kurdistan

824

And he does look so much better than the big fat guy with the awful grown beneath his nose :ymdevil:

Dr Jawad Mella is President of the Western Kurdistan Government in Exile

RT asks - people voted:

A new Chernobyl is:

3% - Impossible, as nuclear technology is now much safer

33% - Unlikely, but natural disasters can lead to a new Fukushima

49% - Inevitable, unless nuclear energy is banned worldwide

16% - Frankly, a risk worth taking

Is it time for governments to think about the people they represent, rather than their own self-importance?
