Marie, that is a ridiculous thing to say, how can you generalise about an entire country/people, you are talking nonsense and you have the nerve to call others ignorant. There's nothing more ignorant than a racist, period.

I'm not sure how much time you've spent in North Africa, but there are some real beauties there, not as you so crudely put it, a few exceptions, and furthermore, real beauty comes from the inside and we've all seen your true colours on this thread :(

As for this pic you posted (and as I mentioned to Vladimir), when it comes to make up, less is more, not my idea of a beauty at all.

no she doesnt have many make-up..she seem to be naturally beautiful
arabs women have more make-up than those one..

Marie - please put on your glasses... The powder is practically floating on her face - her lipstick is about to rain down like the Niagara Falls bursting with overload...

You think all Iranians are milky white and beautiful? You need to sort out your complex - beauty is not alfa and omega - it's just something some are born with and others not... It's not the special asset of a certain ethnicity or nation - it's completely arbitrary in fact - everybody has a different idea of what "beauty" is...

And what Raman said is true.. Persian/Azeri girls do nose jobs like Jews do Bat mitzva - it's almost become ceremonial... Especially in Tabriz, Tehran and Persians/Azeris abroad...

AND - STOP USING ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, MARIE... No name-calling! :?

why ur saying that? i dont have any complex i dont have any reason for that, perhaps ccontrary to raman..
yea thats not 100% objective everyone has his or her own preferences and its u right to find arab beautiful "each to his own"..
no some recent studies have bee,n proved that the genetics matters for physical features u cant deny what science has already proved
ive seen many arabs and jews about nose, arabs have got worst than jews and jews mostly are very whiter, as europeans contrary to arabs(jew who are from askhenaz roots)

"And what Raman said is true.. Persian/Azeri girls do nose jobs like Jews do Bat mitzva - it's almost become ceremonial... Especially in Tabriz, Tehran and Persians/Azeris abroad..."

its u right to dont like jews (as many people) but u cant use this to justify anything..

Stop making things up... Who said I don't like Jews? Do you even KNOW what Bat Mitzva is???

I can't deny science? Who said I was trying to do that? You always want to be right, Marie - and it's becoming very annoying... Why do you think there is something which differentiates between "Kurds" and "Armenians" gentically? There is nothing... Science has proved that there is no such thing as "race"...

As already mentioned beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it is something that can be found anywhere.
In a tv program I once saw that what makes people think somebody is beautiful is the degree of symmetry in their features. Anyway whatever it is, it surely isn't colour.
just because i don't care doesn't mean i don't understand

How isn't it true? I don't understand what you mean if you finished your sentence maybe it would be easier for me to form a response.

Not really. I mean I'm sure everyone when they are young and stupid say that they want either dark or blonde hair or whatever is the custom to focus on where they are from but when it comes down to those things are not important, not even the slightest bit.

I hope you are right Azade. So I can think more logically.
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

but uve got same age as me;) so its probably more depend on each character and opinion from everyone than it can depend on ages.
It seem to be manifest that for many people its important where they are from even if not everyone cares about ethnicity but mainly people are proud of their nationality and heritage...it doesnt mean they dont respect other people from different nationality. Looking are only one feature of an distinctive culture (as customs, history, language) i havent said that was the only thing which is matters..cuz it was s oobvious..

Of course one has the right to be proud of their heritage as long as they don't take it to extremes, but that's a different topic than what beauty is.

in my opinion both are connected each other when ur looking from someone to a similar country than u , ur glad to find some likeness in common, isnt it? even if u can find attractive people who look like different from u thats its quite rare..

"as long as they don't take it to extremes"
btw: i condamn fascism (neo-nazi) if its what u mean cuz its only motivated by hatred (or/and frustration), but when some people still ur land and ur culture u have the right to be someone nationalistic and to defend (at least in theory) ur land despite all opposition(even if its means u must consequently "attacked" other countries) thats rightful, even animal do that by their own instinct they can protect their own territory..its the "law of the jungle" does it fair??perhaps not but can still we speak about fair things when it occured things like that..

;=)

I have read and re-read the whole argument and thread..........I am so lost!
Whatever happened to beauty from within? and by the way....Marie...beauty is everything and everywhere...to be more exact:it is a matter of perspective. Maybe color and being fair is beautiful to you and where you were raised but some people find it very beautiful to be dark...ahem look at all the tanning salons in USA...
The one thing that irks me to the point of no return is when someone generalizes about a whole nation, the last time I checked no one was waiting around and pining on our judgment as to their looks. i.e. they do not give a *fig* about what you and I or anyone for that matter thinks. So...lets all be good adults and get back to the original subject, or better lets all end here...this becoming a useless thread and nothing is making sense anymore and frankly I am deeply confused.
One more thing: make up or no...everyone is beautiful. Period. End. Next Subject please!!!
Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.
