Hi. I'm new on this forum and want to ask for some advice. I'm a UK national living in England and want to get married to my girlfriend who lives in Iraq. We want to get married in Erbil. What do I need to know and who can I contact to make this happen.

Do you mean the legal registering or your marriage or just the wedding feast ?

Concerning the registration, I think you should ask to the British Consulate in Erbil (though I don't know what are the laws in your country).

You could also ask to the KRG Official representation in London.

Thanks for that. I did mean the legal side of it. I have got contact details for the British Consulate in Erbil and am trying to contact them. I hadn't thought of the KRG representative. I'll give him a try. I'm intending to be in Erbil before the new year so may just sort it out there. Thanks again for your help. I am looking forward to getting to Erbil a lot. It will be a very good, but small, wedding.
