My own experiences of working with refugees from a large variety of different countries is:

Very few families are actually victims of torture or have had to flee for their safety

Many genuine refugees - such as the Kurds from Iraq who escaped from the horrors of Saddam - and more recently those escaping from the Syrian regime - had no option other than to escape

Most are frightened - depressed - saddened - shocked and feel isolated - especially the women

I have seen grown men cry as they told of the destruction of their villages - ALL of them wished they were back in those villages with their families and friends

Would it not be better for world powers to prevent such occurrences from taking place - instead of providing the weapons

Take Syria as an example:

There are not an extremely large number of Kurds in the north - if a large number are relocated to other countries - there will not be enough Kurds left to populate the area - the Syrian regime will have WON
