I have wondered about this soo many times.
Since I have so many Kurdish friends who are sorani as me and when it comes to some girls and BOYS they prefer somebody from their own dialect. I wonder just why? i mean in the end its same Kurdish we talk why does dialect effect so much in a of choosing a partner?
Kurmanji for me sounds hella sexy! :ymblushing:

So now asking,
if you are a sorani speaker, would u have problem with choosing a guy from a different Kurdish dialect?
And if you are a kurmanji speaker, same question to you?

Ok I'm not a woman, but i still think it's worth answering this question.

Tribalism and religious denomination is why. It's much harder to maintain your own network of people and culture if you intermarry into other tribes. It's much easier to marry someone similar than to marry someone from a different culture. I think it's much more important if you're from people whose cultural fertility/influence is waning. I personally don't care who i'd marry, aslong as this person is compatible and non-dominant and assimilates into my culture, rather than vice versa.
