I have known for many years that Turks and Turkish Cypriots are taking money from innocent Kurds to provide translation and other services that are already paid for by the National Health Service - local government departments - and even charities

I will give a few examples:

Turks who run a charity and both paid a good wage to provide free translation - interpreting - advice service - they illegally charge about £75 an hour to accompany clients on visits to doctors and council - both of these services provide their own FREE interpreting services - they also charge for form filing and answering letters - all of which they are already paid to do

Many Turks are happy to translate for Kurds and charge £50 or sometimes much more just to read a letter

Some Turks are paid for by cheating colleges that will provide you with a certificate in English without one even attending a lesson - the Turks mix with Kurds and persuade them to pay these fraud colleges THOUSANDS of pounds

The legal advice services work on much the same way - Turks persuade Kurds to use the legal advisor they work for and receive a percentage of the money - often Kurds do not realise that the advisor is not an actual solicitor - these advisers will charge £1,000 or more to fill in forms

Helping my friends who intend to open several kebab shops and fast food takeaways - I am coming across even more scams - Turks do building work cash in hand as a friend when their work is shoddy and would NEVER pass close inspection - and costs as much if not more than qualified experienced builders

One friend was persuaded to buy several roof support joists/girders that he did not need - I told him there were already joists up there or the building would have fallen down years ago - he did not listen and it cost him several thousand pounds to discover I was right

I have watched Turkish builders working - often they speak NO English and have no real idea what they are doing and get paid very little money but there Turkish employer makes a fortune

I have seen work done and charged at £100,000 that in my mind is almost falling to bits and worth only £30,000 if that

Several friends who have paid over £60,000 for work worth halt that

NOW that my interest has been reawakened - the friends I am helping MUST provide me with at least 3 detailed quotes for everything they want done X(

One of my friends wanted to register a company but the TURK he asked for help told him it would cost £500 - I agree that someone who helps another person has a right to charge for that help but:

£485 profit is too much

The true cost of basic company registration in England is ONLY £15

These helpful Turks not only help Northern - Kurds they use their contacts within the Kurdish population to offer their overpriced services to the Southern Kurds as well X(

I will be looking into the Turkish building industry very closely in future - but hope NEVER to use any of them X(
