I think they throw pebbles at you . The first woman drove a car in Duhok, people threw pebbles at her. She came down and started throwing back at them what ever they threw at her. This reminded me with a love story told in the village. A poor young man asked for the hand of a daughter of a very rich man. The father agreed provided the young man stayed naked outside in the freezing winter from early evening to late morning. The young man agreed and stayed naked all night outside in the freezing winter. Late in the morning, he knocked the door with presents to get his sweet heart. The father got shocked and asked how he, young man, not frozen to death. He replied he was getting warmth from the fire from oil wall on the other side of the neighbouring village.

With winter and the first cold days, I was hungry all the time and I think I have taken 1 or 2 among the kilos I lost this summer.

I start a low carb diet (carbs are the thing I can give up easily with my disdain for sweetness and sugar)…

Except for the wine and other Christmas drinks in 10 days !

low carb diet harms the colon. Because low carb diet doesn't have fibre, which is very essential to keep the colon clean. Without fibre the colon can not push undigested food outward. Gradually the colon becomes lazy and develops pockets. The founder of low carb diet died because of his low carb diet on the long term. A colon on low carb diet becomes black, rough and narrow. A healthy colon is pinkish, soft and wide. These have been observed by a doctor with 40 years experience.

There are fibres in beans, lens, vegetables, fruits… the forbidden food in low carb diet is white bread, potatoes, white rice and too cooked pasta. And of course all sweet things.

In French we call it Régime IG (diet Glycemic Index) it is based on the food's effect on a person's blood glucose (sugar). Some are low effect, some high.

These are not low carb diets, including potatoes, bread, rice and pasta.

Glycaemic index (GI) Diet means eating only food with a low GI. I don't know if low carbs means the same thing. IG Diet is limiting glucides, but allowing the "healthy" carbs.
