Kurdish Fashion

PostAuthor: AldinaElisabeth » Sat Jan 30, 2010 5:29 pm

Merheba heval :) ..

I would like to know if any of you would know a site on the internet, or a Kurdish tailor in Denmark, Sweden or Norway, where I could buy Kurdish dresses?

I have tried to search on the internet, but I couldn't find anything (at least not anything where I know they will ship to Denmark).

If anyone of you knows a place like this, I would be grateful if you would inform me about it.

Sipas!

There was a mod here, Diri. I think his real name was Sohrab. He designed Kurd clothing. Wonder what ever happened to him.

That’s traditional Kurdish clothe and it’s been around for many hundred years, Kurds wear these clothes in special occasions such as wedding, Kurdish celebration (nawroz) etc.... Nowadays, Young Kurds dress same as western. I have one of those baggy trousers (full suit) here in the UK and hopefully i can wear it in some special occasions (waiting for one to arise) :D

Why is it traditional? Most Kurd men I've seen are handsome. Why do they hide their bottoms with baggy pants?

I call it traditional because we have been wearing it for centuries in Kurdistan and nothing wrong with traditional clothes. They comfortable, nice and its one of our identity like any other nations! :D

If someone wears Kurdish clothe doesn’t mean they are not handsome. Persionaly, i see Kurdish clothe super nice, especially ladies dress. For meis much nicer than what you see in Paris, London and NY fashion shows. As i said we wear them in special occasions such as weddings, Kurdish new year which means they are favourite and beautiful to us! :)

I didnt wear mine for my graduation ceremony and i still regretting it. But i have got one more and i will INSHALLAH wear them, and than i will post some pictures :D

for me our Kurdish boys look very handsome in kurdish clothes - and they are very right to hide their bottoms - coz some parts of the body are only for the one special person in everyone's life , not for everyone :D - am i right my brothers?

I agree 10000% Kulka xan. But its not about hiding bottoms or not, is just the way it is. Lately, i have seen tight kurdish dresses for both men and women. But i still prefere the baggy style :)
