Yes Kak Talsor is right. Probably because the Gregorian calendar is devised in the northern semisphere so that we are often biased to consider September as a deadline for Summer, plus the fact that we are originated from the same semisphere too.

How can you get to Kurdistan? Do you fly to turkey and then drive there?

you can gat a plane from few places straight to Erbil
not sure about other parts of kurdistan
