Have Peshmergas been trained on battlefield first aids?

This idea came to me after I saw a TV program about American Liberators fighting terrorists in Anbar in Iraq. A soldier got shot on his leg. He bled too much and became unconscious on the battlefield. He almost died. It took weeks for him to recover. I didn't believe what I saw. This American soldier didn't know anything about self-first aids and let himself to bleed until he became unconscious. Obviously he was not trained on the use of battlefield first aids. Had he been trained on battlefield first aids he would have put a bandage around his wound on his leg immediately to stop bleeding. He wouldn't have gone unconscious to become a burden on the battlefield, continued fighting and later recovered very quickly.

An army like American Army should have also trained its soldiers on the use of battlefield first aids. Besides of a weapon and ammunition, it should have provided each of its soldiers with the basic first aids included at least pain killers and a few specially designed bandages to put around arms and legs. I hope commanders of Peshmerga forces take notice of this and put it in use.
