I would like to learn more about kurdish culture and perception on marriage with non muslim, non kurd girl?

Thank you. I thought the same. We love each other. We have a lot of things to fix if we want to be together.
One thing that I never be clear is the possibility that his family would accept. It seems to be a huge barrier.
And you know that you will not hurt the feeling of parents. I'm afraid that he would just sacrifice our love for this sake.
I respect him. I hurt so badly when he said we should be just friends. I would like to have some more opinions. I know the best way is talk to him.
But now he is at his home country. I would like to have some supports or facts about this issue before he come back and we will talk.
I hope that I would not put my head against the wall.

i would say theres a chance....im english and was christian when i married my husband (kurdish muslim) our cultural differences were worlds apart, but i like his culture more than mine and i would say im now 99% kurdish by marriage..which i love. Also I was interested in Islam before i met him and being with him made me realise what was missing in my life....i reverted a while ago with absolutely no pressure from him... ive never been happier in my life. As to the family thing.....not all his family know about us.....some here and some in his country do but mainly the family that hes really close to....

99% Kurdish, By marriage?? Thats laughable. You can be 100% muslim, no doubt about that, but you'll never be Kurdish.
Why don't the rest of his family know about you? He's muslim, Your muslim? Wheres the problem?
What gets to me with English women is that they form relationships with men from other countries and then they come out with stuff like this? If you were 99% Kurdish by any means then his family need not be kept in the dark? No? Just a thought....

there are reasons some of his family dont know about me but i cant go into them as its private........you said yourself about the huge barrier regarding family...i just replied mainly in agreement that it can be a problem.....

But still I cant see why not, im not asking, seen as though you said the reasons are private. I would hate to be in a marriage where I was a secret, like Im not good enough for him or something. I know a girl who dates a kurdish guy.. actually she has dated half the Kurdish community in birmingham. All profess they love her but not one of them has made an honest woman out of her, simply saying their family wont agree, personally i think its because shes a bike an a free for all for all Kurds in her area..
I dont get this barrier there, If your in love, and more importantly your muslim.. why the big secret??

its complicated the reasons for some of his family not knowing.... but its not because im not good enough for him lol

Pffff,,, I will remind myself to NEVER get mixed up with a Kurdish guy. My hearts way too soft lol. Does his Mom know about you? I guess thats the most important thing.

sadly his mum isnt around..... its just a couple of sisters who dont know about me.....and no i havent been over there but hopefully we will go at the end of the year....then everyone will know about me

I'm glad that you enjoy kurdish culture. I haven't go that far. I just learn that Kurdish people are nice.

Crazymadlady relax.. not everyone is the same, even though someone is kurdish they are still human and so act in a humanly behavior, your might like some kurds and you might not like other kurds...
