I'v been hearing a lot that Kurdish guys do not marry none Kurdish girls , which is absolutely not true . I have friend who are married to chines , blacks , white ,arabs and even native Canadian .
The so called "Love" is secondary for most Kurdish guys when it comes to marriage . The most important aspect in relation is mutual respect and for the girl to be conservative to a certain extend . Yes Kurdish guys will go out will almost any nationality , that however does not constitute to a serious relation unless the guy is certain that the girl will not disrespect him in any form in front of his family and friends and will not do anything that could embarrass him . Most Kurdish guys will allow their girlfriend to do anything and say anything she want to , but based on the girls action they develop an opinion whether she is the right match for him or not . Keep in mind that majority of Kurd's long term goal is to go back to Kurdistan and settle there .

This reminds me about some thing years ago, possibly over ten years ago, I said about young Kurds to get married. I said: 'If you offer the hand of your girl to a young Kurd he will go to Tickrit to bring you the head of Saddam Hussein as a trophy'.

The issue under discussion, brought this, was the question of Islamist parties in Kurdistan attracting young Kurds. One of the reasons given for that was that they were helping young Kurds to get married.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with inter-ethnic marriages, as I am ethnically speaking 25% non-Kurdish myself. But there are certain limits that ought not to be exceeded when a family wishes to preserve its Kurdish identity. The rise of globalism has seriously affected the Kurds living in Western countries, and the younger generations in particular. Many of them are happily abandoning their traditional Kurdish values(yes, happily. you're reading this correctly), because they're unconsciously letting it be replaced by the (unintentionally)anti-nationalitic Western culture of 'modernity', which ephasizes and glorifies self-centeredness instead of social cohesion(Kurdish nationalism in this context): an exceptionally dumb mode of life wherein one's actions, thoughts, opinions and general lifestyle are systematically brought to an utterly un-intellectual level by private corporations, so they can make profit from the primitive materialistic mentality that follows. And although I hate to say it, it would not be sexist to argue that females tend to be slightly more prone to this brainwashing than males.

And rising trend to identify with one's religion primarily is not promoting Kurdish ethnic loyalty either. Where I live, there many Kurds married to Turks or Arabs(the latter one irritating me less than the first), just because of their common faith, whether it be Islam, Alevism or even Christianity. A salient detail of this phenomenon is that it's the Kurds by rule who are assimilated into the other cultures concerned.

@Azamat. It surprises me every time how your words look like they might be from me. I agree absolutely. And I have made exactly the same observations.

I'm against inter-marriage, I'm not racist but I guess you could say my ideas are abit backwards. I take it from my dad, I just feel our culture should be perserved. Its ok if you love another girl or man from another race. Just my opinion don't take it personally.

I respect your opinion, but didn't you mention earlier on that you had Persians in your family?

Yes I have Persian family, but Persians are more similar culturally then lets say an africa. If they marry with a Kurdish man or women, they can easily adopt the customs, as opposed to another ethnic group. Plus the Persians my family married to are from Kermanshah, so they have kurdish origins.
