Roj Bash Kurdistan

Just as the title says, share pictures of Kurds with interesting/unusual phenotypes. And with this, I don't mean you have to selectively pick out pictures of the 'whitest' Kurds out there, because I don't care about that. But of course, if he or she has unusual features (she happens to have really light or dark features) don't hesitate to share.

Don't know what it is about this guy, he looks plain, but he seems a little off-Kurdish.


Not entirely sure she's Kurdish, she appeared when I searched 'Kurdish' on deviantart. It's mainly the strong jaw line.

(Of course, all Kurdish girls are not nearly as beautiful as she is, but she's got no real features that divert from the norm)

From Faces of tomorrow. Most of their examples are from beggars which can always look odd and I suspect even they might be more "Gypsies" from Kurdish cities, especially the second one.

Looks Mongolian influenced

Looks Central_South Asian influenced her facial features remind me of Kalash.

Strong jawline is common ins West Kurdistan.

Haven't seen too many Kurds like them.

I guess you think this cousin of mine is also atypical. He has dark blonde hair, but I think that can be common amongst Kurds at an early age.

at early age Most Kurds have lighter hairs. Considering this "odd" would mean you dont know much about Kurds

Well I don't think Blonde hair is typical even for early age, light brown hair yes, but I can't agree on blonde. I guess it ranges from tribe to tribe or area to area. Plus heval did you have blonde hair when you were young?

I was not specifically mentioning "blond" but said light hair. hair color lightness varies among Kurds I had brownish hair when I was young. However most of my nephews have blond, brown or reddish hair.

You are a Dersimi though, so you are generally lighter than most other Kurds. The same applies to Ilamis and Duhokis. When I went to the Barzan area I saw alot of light haired and eyed people, and looked Irano=Nordoid or depigmented Iranids. Personally however I don't count light brown hair as "light", only blonde and red.

I don't have time to argue with you Kurdistano, this Arab internet is rubbish. You know what I mean though, I thought however you were Zazaki. Anyways I've just come from SK, trust me children aren't as light as you try to make out, light brown hair is common, but blonde and gingerism is a minority. I guess that is in most southern caucasoid populations.

I'll discuss later when I get back, there is Eid tommorrow, my whole tribe will be in one place partying.

Zaza does not equal Dersim (there are many Zaza in Amed, Cewlik and Eleziz) nor does Dersim equal Zaza (almost 30% of its population is Kurmanji).

I said I have some Zaza origin. I always thought my father was full Kurmanjified Zaza yet I found out that he is only half. I am 3/4 Kurmanji.

About the light hair thing, I disagree. In all Studies I came around everything lighter than Dark Brown is counted as "blondism" light hair.

My nephew was Gold Blond till he became 13 now his hair is more dark Blond/light Brownish. My Other nephew has reddish auburn like hair.

Real Ginger hair is not that common yet auburn hair color is. Some non Kurdish people I came around confirmed this.

Agreed, well regarding the light brown hair thing, I guess it depends on the study. I don't know whether old sutdies counted it as light.

Regarding red auburn hair, yes that type is common amongst Kurds, alot of my family member have it. Well it darkens when they become old.
