Hello everyone!
I am a Canadian-Kurd (and I put Canada first because I was born here, but moved to Kurdistan later on) living in Canada at the moment, attending University. Every summer I head out to Kurdistan to work, do research, and take photographs. I am 23 years old, I was born in Canada but moved to Kurdistan when I was 11 years old and lived there for 6 years, then I headed back to the West. This 6 year experience, with my Canadian mother and Kurdish father, changed my life. The change I know of is in my interest for this area of the world, an interest in learning about where the Kurds are at now, how they got there, and where they are heading in the future. To explore this I have a blog, which I made recently and am hoping to post consistently http://amirani87.wordpress.com/ and I also have a website. I hope in the future it will be a platform for discussions about Kurdistan. A platform for anyone's experiences in Kurdistan, and a place to post any form of media attained while there. At this point it is simply a non-interactive website but in the near future, if University does not interfere with my interests, I will be updating it into an interactive medium. This is the link there: http://www.miranimaging.com I have posted photographs from Kurdistan on this site from my time in Kurdistan this summer. I was part of a project doing research about the Anfal campaign, although I was more involved in technical aspects as opposed to doing actual research.
I hope you all enjoy the photos, and in the near future will be a platform just like this forum!
Thanks
Adam Mirani
